IMPORTANT:

  • Bloodied items will be under testing during the season, and I’ll be adding them as I try them out. For now, good options are attack speed, crit chance, and movement speed.

Spirit Boons

  • We start with Gift of the Stag, which gives us more maximum Spirit. This synergizes directly with Ancestral Guidance, increasing our ultimate damage for each point of Spirit. If you need more defense, you can use Wariness to reduce damage taken from elites.
  • Next we use Scythe Talons to increase Critical Strike Chance and Avian Wrath to increase Critical Strike Damage by 40%. In short, these two boons are purely for damage.
  • Here the best option is Calamity, to increase Cataclysm duration. This helps ensure the duration is longer than the cooldown, allowing us to reactivate it before it ends and keep that infinite Cataclysm loop for smooth farming.
  • Here comes the most important Spirit Boon for this build, which is Overload. This boon poisons enemies, which is extremely important because it helps activate passives like Envenom or Paragon nodes like Heightened Malice. Because of this, our damage multipliers go through the roof

With this setup, you’ll be able to farm all the content at the highest difficulty

  • We start with Tempest Roar, which transforms our Cataclysm into a Werewolf skill, so we gain all the benefits of that form in addition to the storm bonuses
  • The Khamsin Steppewalkers are key for achieving maximum speed, and their affixes directly synergize with the build
  • On our weapon, the most important thing is to have the highest possible chance for Cataclysm to deal double damage
  • Airidah's Inexorable Will will help us reduce Cataclysm cooldown as much as possible, ensuring its CD is shorter than its duration so we can keep it active all the time (NOT MANDATORY)
  • Mjölnic Ryng is mandatory for this build
  • RUNES: Neo and Gar will help you increase your Critical Chance, since this build works best when you’re critting all the time.
On top of that, it makes farming much more efficient
  • Bac and Jah will help you teleport from time to time to move faster. This is important for farming more efficiently, basically farming faster overall

Elixirs and Incenses

ElixirElixir of Fortitude
Core IncenseBlessed Guide
Defensive IncenseReddamine Buzz
Resistance IncenseSoothing Spices
  • The Elixir of Advantage is used to get more attack speed, which is very important for this build so it doesn’t feel slow while playing through the game’s activities. It also increases our DPS!
  • Use it when you have a good amount of materials and once you reach the level required to craft it.
  • The Blessed Guide increases our Willpower, which is the main attribute for the Druid.
  • Reddamine Buzz increases our maximum life, which also increases our Overpower damage and the barrier we get from Temerity. It’s not necessary from level 1 to 60.
  • Soothing Spices will increase all of our resistances, so defensively it’s key—especially when we’re trying to push high in the Tower or the Pit.

  • Maul will allow us to build stacks of the Provocation passive so we can use them with Cataclysm once we reach 10 stacks, which essentially means 10 seconds in Werebear form. This will allow Cataclysm to guarantee Overpower hits, making our strikes far more devastating
  • Our defensive skills should be a priority, since this build is quite squishy. Use them consistently to generate Barriers and mitigate damage while you farm
  • Hurricane will allow you to gain more active seconds of Cataclysm, since it increases the rank of your Shapeshifting skills by +5 while it’s active. This is thanks to the Stormshifter aspect
  • Cataclysm with +5 points so the skill stays active longer and also deals more damage
  • Lupine Ferocity will be our key passive, since in this version we’re running Mad Wolf's Glee

Paragon Board

  • With the Spirit Glyph, we increase the damage our enemies take from us and also our Critical Strike Damage
  • Next, we go with Lust for Carnage, which is a pretty powerful node for this build that works thanks to Tempest Roar. We’ll also use Electrocution, which directly synergizes with Cataclysm
  • The Thunderstruck node is another damage multiplier for Cataclysm, plus the Earth and Sky
  • Survival Instincts works in this build since we’ll be in Bear form most of the time. Additionally, the Keeper Glyph is another multiplier for our non-physical damage, like Cataclysm
  • Ancestral Guidance increases Cataclysm damage by x1% depending on how much Spirit we have, plus the Dominate Glyph to boost Overpower Damage

Mercenary

  • Raheir is usually the safest option for the average player, since he gives us 15% more armor and helps us survive longer in battle.
  • Aldkin will help us stay alive longer in battle, since his ability reduces the damage we receive

How it Plays

Both versions are quite similar. If you want more damage, you stack the Provocation passive. You’ll need Maul to stay in Werebear form for 10 seconds. Once you reach 10 stacks of Provocation, cast Cataclysm to guarantee an Overpower hit. I highly recommend this mechanic when facing tougher monsters like Belial or The Butcher. If you’re doing Helltides, you probably won’t need this mechanic

In the version with Insatiable Fury, this mechanic is even more powerful because we have the chest equipped and are also using Ursine Strength. This means we won’t need to use Maul to stack, since we’ll be in Werebear form all the time thanks to Insatiable Fury

In the version with Mad Wolf's Glee, we use Hurricane, which gives us damage reduction and also +5 to our Shapeshifted skills like Cataclysm. This boosts both the damage of the skill and its duration

In both versions, all defensive skills are necessary to survive longer in battle, mitigating damage, generating Barriers, and boosting our buffs (Blood Howl Debilitating Roar Earthen Bulwark Cyclone Armor)

How it Works

  • Cataclysm needs to have less cooldown than its active duration, and this season it becomes much easier to achieve because we have these new boots Khamsin Steppewalkers that give us ranks to Endless Tempest to increase Cataclysm duration, and also a Nature Magic cooldown reduction affix to reduce the cooldown of our ultimate.
  • On top of that, these boots will give us maximum movement speed just by damaging a certain number of enemies.  That’s why these boots become mandatory for this build, and they are also very easy to use. We don’t need any special mechanic to activate their power.
  • Another key item, as many of you already know, is the Mjölnic Ryng. This ring gives the Lightning Bolts effect to our Cataclysm ultimate, which is the unique power of this ring and the most important part. We will combine it with certain aspects and glyphs that we will see later.
  • Another key item will be Tempest Roar, which gives the Werewolf skill tag to Cataclysm. This is very important, because it allows us to use nodes like Lust for Carnage or passives like Toxic Claws
  • This is the core of the build, the most relevant items so the build is playable and you can enjoy it without any issues.
