The Flay Barbarian is looking to be one of the top builds this season and this guide will teach you everything you need to know.

Flay is your main ability and main source of damage. You rely on the new unique Hooves of the Mountain God this season to help you add a much needed cleave to your attacks. Combining Flay with the Fists of Fate you add a ton of damage t. If you're a fan of damage over time builds, this is going to be your build this season. Flay will be your generator for Bleed Damage. That is the main source of damage for this build. Flay Duration on your Tempers will be absolutely key in making this build run and do massive amounts of damage.

This is your base variant and will be the hardest to see big results out of. Once you start adding in Unique pieces of gear, you'll really start to see the build come alive.

This build will be running on a Polearm set up in order to take advantage of Heavy Handed. The reason we run a Polarm is Furious Whirlwind applies Bleed when it hits while using a Slashing. Rage of Harrogath has a chance to reduce our cooldowns every time that Bleed is applied. The Polearm will need to be paired with the Executioner's Glyph in order to maximize damage, so leveling this will be priority. Other viable options would be a Two-handed Axe combined with the Cleaver Glyph. This will give you the same benefits, but you'll gain 10% increased Critical Strike Chance against Vulnerable enemies.

    How it Plays

    Flay Rotation

    • Cast Wrath of the Berserker to give you Fury Generation, increased damage and pull enemies to you.
    • Cast Challenging Shout, Rallying Cry and War Cry to increase your defenses, Fury Generation and damage.
    • Cast Flay and don't stop attacking.
    • Use Rupture to reset the cooldowns, gain additional attack speed and do massive damage. This can only be used once every 10 seconds only when Wanton Rupture Aspect is active.
    • Repeat

    How it Works

    Flay Damage

This build will be running on a Dual Wield set up in order to take advantage of Belligerence and we are running Ramalandi's Magnum Opus alongside Shard of Verathiel

    Offense

    • Aspect of the Moonrise will will increase your attack speed as you hit with a Basic Skill. After 5 attacks you've capped out your bonus. At 5 stacks you gain bonus damage and movement speed for 10 seconds.
    • Hectic Aspect is a key part in making sure you have Wrath of the Berserker active 100% of the time. After 5 attacks with a Basic Skill, you reduce your cooldown timers.
    • Wrath of the Berserker will be a great source of extra damage as well 10 seconds of Unstoppable and Berserking. We will also be able to use this as a pull, to help group up monsters which increases the damage we do by keeping monsters within our cleave range from Hooves of the Mountain God.
    • Aspect of Adaptability when you cast a Basic Skill above 50% Maximum Fury you deal increased damage.

    Uniques

    Key Build Piece

    • Shard of Verathiel gives us a big damage multiplier, with a bunch of other incredibly great stats. It also adds a Fury cost to our Basic Skills allowing us to take advantage of the Ring of Starless Skies.
    • Ramaladni's Magnum Opus is an incredibly strong unique if build correctly. It increases your damage by up to .5% per point of Fury you have. The Unique Aspect is the most important part of this weapon, followed by the Maximum Resources. On build that get close to 400 Fury this weapon offers 200% increased damage.
    • Fists of Fate offers you a source of Vulnerable damage, big Lucky Hit to help proc your Rage of Harrogath and a big increase to your damage.
    • Rage of Harrogath has a chance to reset your Cooldowns every time you apply Bleed.

    Mythic Uniques

    • The Grandfather has a Unique Aspect that doubles your Critical Strike Damage bonus. More importantly for this build it gives very high Maximum Resources. That will help scale your damage from Ramaladni's Magnum Opus It's a great source of Max Life and the All Stats play a huge role in activating your Paragon Nodes.
    • Ring of Starless Skies adds damage to all of your abilities after you spend primary resources.

    • Cir and Thul will Freeze enemies, apply Vulnerable Damage and multiplicative damage increases.
    • Ahu and Thul will work, but you will won't be able to apply Vulnerable Damage until monsters are below 80% life.
