Build Overview

This build is designed around spending as much fury as you can to proc Banished Lord's Talisman. This is why you run the Crown of Lucion any other helmet would not be a good replacement for this. This build is very resource management heavy, and will require some time to learn the play style.

You will need The Third Blade in order for the build to work. It cannot work without it.

This is an end game build. Death Blow builds require very specific gear to get them to work at peak performance. There are ways to substitute but it does not function like it normally would without them. You will need The Third Blade in order for the build to work. It cannot work without it.

    How it Plays

    Deathblow Rotation

    • Cast Frenzy five times to get to max stacks, adding stack number one from Sabre of Tsasgal.
    • Cast Death Blow adding stack number two from Sabre of Tsasgal.
    • Cast Wrath of the Berserker to add increased Fury generation and damage adding stack number three from Sabre of Tsasgal.
    • Cast Death Blow and continue casting, this will also add stack number four from Sabre of Tsasgal.
    • Repeat to maintain your buffs and timers.

    How it Works

    Deathblow Damage

    • This build will be running on a Two-handed Mace set up. This gives big damage hits, and allows the build to take advantage of Heavy Handed and Brute Force.
    • If you would like to learn how to set your weapon selection watch this video: How to Select Weapons video

    Offense

    • Aspect of Inner Calm gives you a stacking damage bonus the more you stand still. Deathblow builds pull monsters into a corner, then stand still while attacking.
    • Aspect of Earthquakes increased your damage while standing in an Earthquake and for 4 seconds after you leave it. On top of that, it also increases your Earthquake damage as well.
    • Wrath of the Berserker will be a great source of extra damage as well 10 seconds of Unstoppable and Berserking. We will also be able to use this as a pull, to help group up monsters which increases the damage we do by keeping monsters within our cleave range from Overkill.
    • Aspect of Encroaching Wrath will grant extra damage to Death Blow after you spend 100 Fury.

    Uniques

    Key Build Piece

    • The Third Blade converts your Weapon Mastery skills into Core skills, removes the cooldown and adds a Fury cost. This is how you can cast Death Blow an unlimited amount of time as long as you have Fury.
    • Ramaladni's Magnum Opus removing this from your weapon slot, adding it into your armor will free up another weapon slot for tempers, it will also add additional damage. It removes having to search for the perfect aspect since that is the most important part of the Ramaladni's Magnum Opus. Note: This item has changed in Season 10 to effect all abilities now. The "Skills using this weapon" has been removed.
    • Ring of Red Furor will guarantee every hit of Hammer of the Ancients is a Critical Strike. Because the Crown of Lucion will make your Death Blow cost almost 100 Fury you'll Critical Hits every other attack.
    • Sabre of Tsasgal will add a damage bonus for each damaging skill you have on. Additionally you get more damage increases that stack each time you use one of those damaging skills. This bonus lasts 10 seconds, so you'll need to use them at least once every 10 seconds to take advantage of the buff.
    • Overkill gives your Death Blow it's only source of Area of Effect damage it will have. It does not increase the damage that Death Blow does, other than the affixes on the mace itself.

    Mythic Uniques

    • The Grandfather has a Unique Aspect that doubles your Critical Strike Damage bonus. More importantly for this build it gives very high Maximum Resources. That will help scale your damage from Ramaladni's Magnum Opus. It's a great source of Max Life and the All Stats play a huge role in activating your Paragon Nodes.
    • Shroud of False Death adds +1 to all passives in the Skill Tree regardless of whether you have placed a point into that skill or not.
