Build Overview

This build combines the power of Blessed Hammer with Arbiter of Justice to create an incredibly mobile build with fantastic AOE. You're like a snowball going down hill, once you get it going you become virtually unstoppable.

It excels at speed farming, but is also a contender for the top spot on the Tower Leaderboard. The only hangup this build has is when fighting Bosses, if they're at or above your power level it can be hard to not deplete your Faith before killing them.

I recommend always doing content that is at or one Tier below what feels "hard." With that being said, once you reach a state of: properly Tempered Gear, Greater Affixs, Masterworked Ancestrals and Mythic Uniques you can easily dominate Torment 12 and The Pit beyond Tier 100.

You can transition into this build with ease by following our Arbiter Hammerdin Leveling Guide.

Strengths and Weaknesses

  • Super Fast
  • Incredible AOE
  • Very Tanky With Good Gear
  • Mediocre Bossing
  • Early Faith Management

Build Variants

This is the starter build that you want to go for after you hit level 70. Look to get all of these Aspects on your character as you work your way up through the early Torment Tiers.

Gear & Stats

The most important Aspect to read and understand is Aspect of Ascension. You really need to focus on getting this to 10 stacks and making sure you never drop out of Arbiter Form. It isn't the end of the world if you do drop Arbiter (and you will). But you then have to ramp this Aspect back up again and reform your snowball of death.

Early on Resource Cost Reduction and Faith on Kill help on gear. It's very unlikely you'll get all the optimal stats on your gear until late into the endgame, so consider these 2 stats as a positive when you see them.

The primary goal is stacking your Critical Chance to 100% then stacking Critical Hit Damage to the moon. Fanaticism Aura and the Gar Rune are going to get you far, but you'll need to pick up Critical Hit Chance on multiple pieces of gear too.

The secondary goal is seen more on the Unique Setup. You want your Attack Speed close to 100% also so that you can spam Blessed Hammer like a machine gun, and so your Wing Strikes are pumping rapidly. This is much easier to achieve with Fanaticism Aura and Fanaticism Aura Potency that you'll eventually prioritize on your Tempers once you have little need for Arbiter Duration. Bottom line, if you get some Attack Speed stats they are great early on but Cooldown and just getting the build online with Crit is more important.

Tempering

In Early endgame you'll still be building up your Tempering Manuals. These are good to farm in Helltide off the Blood Maiden Boss. Once you have the ones listed in the planner make sure to get them on your gear since they make a big difference in your power level.

Masterworking

Masterworking can be quite expensive early on. I don't recommend doing it to any item that doesn't have 4 stats that you're looking for. Take a look at the Unique & Mythic Unique gear tabs to see which item slots you may want to avoid Masterworking fully. It would be a shame to spend all that Obducite and Gold on a Weapon right before going to farm your Herald's Morningstar.

Runewords

Two great combos are Bac Gar & Cir Que. One providing a giant amount of Critical Chance and the other giving you a significant Toughness boost. You'll see a lot of builds run the Spirit Wolves rune Ceh but since this build applies so much Vulnerable on it's own it seems insignificant.

Bac specifically is pretty rare to find early on. You can use a much more accessible option of Cir + Gar & Cem + Que to get your bonuses online.

Skill Tree

Available0 (0)
Spent69 (14)

If you haven't acquired 2 pieces of the Phoba of Light's Epiphany Set you'll want to continue using the Skill Tree found in the Leveling Guide. Once you get 2 pieces on your Talisman you can switch to this Skill Tree since you should be able to keep up your Arbiter of Justice permanently with the Set. Your Falling Star will be available basically all the time and can be used to keep you in Arbiter form whenever you're waiting for Arbiter of Justice to come off Cooldown.

Not Depleting your Faith early on will be a challenge, because of this I recommend using Rally for the starter setup. You'll drop Rally for Consecration once you feel you have a good feel for the build and aren't just running out of Faith every 5 seconds. The worst thing that can happen with this build is having 0 Faith and standing there like a ding dong hoping your Wing Strikes can kill stuff on their own.

Paragon Board

Prioritize getting to the next board, Legendary Node and Glyph Socket over chasing Rare Nodes or taking too many Magic Nodes along the way. I do think it's worth it to grab enough main stat for each Glyph to get their "Additional Bonuses", and this pathing reflects that. I'm also not going to go by a powerful Rare Node that is 1 point away form the path i was planning to take.

Your Season Achievement tab has many things you can do to get +4 Paragon Points. I'd recommend knocking out many of these early on so you can get as much Paragon Power as possible.

One note here is the 2nd attached board "Endure". This power only helps you when Fortified. By the time you're pathing to this you should be ready to drop Rally and start using Consecration. Consecration is what's going to allow you to easily build Fortify. Don't waste points pathing to this node until you know you are being Fortified or have switched to this skill.

If you find Honed early on, rejoice. Get this one into your starter board right away and pickup whatever nodes it takes to get it's "Additional Bonus." Once you unlock your next board and Glyph spot you can move it over there, but this one is way too important early on to not use if you get it.

Seal

For your Seal prioritize one with +1 Charm slot over anything else. Once you have some options look for Cooldown Reduction, Critical Hit Chance/Damage or %Damage/Vulnerable Damage, depending on what you think your current setup needs the most.

For the 6th Slot optimally you'll put in Griswold's Opus, but this won't be easy to come by early on. Try to get any Unique Charm in there that will allow you to remove a Unique from your Equipment so you can pick up another Legendary Aspect in its place. I think Argent Veil is another great choice for this Charm slot since it lets you pick up another Offensive Aspect while keeping it's incredible bonus.

Realistically when you get a 6th slot you'll just put whatever good Rare Charm you have in there with + Disciple Skills, Aura Skills, Life, etc. Any beneficial Unique Charm that looks like it does anything for your build works too as a place holder. I played around with Fists of Fate for example, and it did very well with this build, you hit so often that there's plenty of chance for some massive hits from RNGesus.

Light's Epiphany

Make sure you read the 2 piece set bonus here and understand it. It's very important to the success of the build. If you aren't spamming hammers and constantly hitting enemies with them you're going to suffer. This goes back to the idea of the build snowballing. Always focus on hitting mobs with Blessed Hammer, use Falling Star constantly to also proc more cooldown reduction on your Arbiter of Justice as well as to keep up your 10 stacks of Aspect of Ascension.

Mercenaries

Raheir is the GOAT for endgame. He'll dive in to save you from death when you take a big hit, gives you 15% All Resistance, makes enemies take 15% more damage, and gives you 25% more damage when inside Bastion.

Aldkin as reinforcement gives you 20% damage reduction when standing in his Field of Languish.
