Back in November, Gearbox released the first 'Bounty Pack' for Borderlands 4, titled 'How Rush Saved Mercenary Day' - to reviews which I'm sure almost anyone would certainly get the impression were overwhelmingly negative, mainly due to concerns surrounding the overall size and runtime of the content.

Despite the DLC having a longer runtime than most Headhunter packs from Borderlands 2, this didn't mean 2K/Gearbox let the feedback fall on deaf ears.

Grant Kao, the Associate Creative Director at Gearbox Software, and most noteably- one of the lead developers on the post launch cycle of Borderlands 4 has commented on the new DLC, saying:

The on-foot distance from start of map to Minister Screw is shorter than the distance to the first hidden mini boss in Legend of the Stone Demon.

This is obviously great news for a lot of players, as more secret compartments, and hidden bosses is almost always a good thing in games. It's an opportunity to add an extra 30 minutes to your play time, and for content creators, including journalists- it's an opportunity to add more coverage to their library for that title.

When Is Bounty Pack 2 Out?

The first official paid Bounty Pack, titled 'Legend Of The Stone Demon' is set to arrive via all platforms on February 26th, 2026

As far as we know, it is currently due to be set in the Terminus Range sector of Kairos, and will mainly focus on Main NPC 'Defiant Calder' as our key ally, in comparison to the prior Bounty Pack, in which we saw Rush utilized.

With this Bounty Pack we're also set to see a brand new Vault Card, which will bring with it a host of new items, cosmetics, and more. These are a fun little addition that serve as a nice bonus to hunt for on top of the already fresh content.

Most noteably however, this Bounty Pack will also be bringing with it the long awaited Pearlescent rarity, which was last seen over 10 years ago in Borderlands 2! (whew)

Gearbox have noted that much like their last appearance, Pearls will of course have DLC exclusivity for just some of the items, but the rarity its self will be a free addition for all players in Borderlands 4 when the bounty pack does launch.

It's exciting, as Pearls have been a feature fans have begged to return for quite literally years now, but up until Borderlands 4 those requests had fell on deaf ears. It seems Gearbox is finally ready to listen, and that's an exciting concept for an otherwise, stagnant loot economy.

Summary

Of course when Pearls do drop, we'll have a full breakdown of their drop rates, locations, and more here on Mobalytics, along with a breakdown and guide of all new items, secrets, and more in the newest Bounty Pack when it releases on February 26th, 2026
