This guide is under construction.

The Borderlands 4 Raid Boss 2: Subjugator and Thol the Invincible free content drop features all-new Legendaries and Pearlescents for players to find, including weapons, ordnance, shield, class mods and a new Firmware!

  • New World Drop Pearlescent items that aren't exclusively part of the Raid Boss drops but released with the May 28th Patch will also be featured here.

In this guide, I'll be breaking down the effects, acquirable licenses and the best rolls for each of these new items!

Out of 87 bazillion, ONE of them had to be the best.

Unkempt - Fires 3 bullets in a horizontal pattern that each split into 3 more bullets, for a total of 9 pellets per shot.

Mechanics

The central bullet spreads vertically instead of horizontally.

Jail-Broken Gatling Ripper Submachine Gun

Get busy shooting or get busy dying.

Jailbroken - On hit, gain a stack of Backfire. For each stack of Backfire, gain increased Fire Rate and an increased chance to fire off additional projectiles.

Mechanics

Maximum of 10 stacks. Each stack of Backfire provides:

  • 8% On Shot Gun Damage
  • ~10% Fire Rate

Whenever additional projectiles are triggered, the stacks are set back to 0.

The additional projectiles do not benefit from On Shot, Post-Add Amp and Amp damage boosts.

Starfall - 33% Chance for Stars to fall for 1.25x Damage.

Mechanics

  • The Star Projectiles are considered gun damage.
    • The 1.25x does multiply effects like Neutron Capture.
  • The gun's projectiles have build-in piercing, which can be used for doubled hits through its splash radius when shooting through enemies at the ground.

The obligation of the weak is to nourish the strong.

Devour - Hitting enemies with Locust Rockets increases their damage taken from Parasite's primary fire for 12s. Killing affected enemies with primary fire grants Overshield and refills 50% of the magazine.

Mechanics

  • The increased damage taken is 30% On-Hit Damage. Effect doesn't stack.

Well that's one way to use it.

Special Effect - Douses enemies in hot Moonshine. On reload throw an explosive projectile that deals a portion of its damage as bonus Incendiary damage to doused enemies. Bonus Damage scales based on the number of doused enemies hit in the explosion.

Mechanics

The portion of damage dealt as Bonus Incendiary is 30%. It then scales additively based on the amount of doused enemies hit (+30% per).

Special Effect - Whenever C4SH Critically Hits an enemy while Windfall is not active, he gains a stack of Prestidigitator. Whenever C4SH Critically Hits an enemy while Windfall is active, he gains a 2% chance per Prestidigitator Stack to throw Cards from his Deck, consuming 20% of his Stacks. Once Windfall ends, he loses all Prestidigitator stacks.

'I've seen so many minds of my generation destroyed by their own madness. They just needed better creative outlets.

Special Effect - Whenever Harlowe uses Stasis, it deal Bonus Area Cryo Damage to enemies and additional Bonus Area Radiation Damage to enemies immune to Stasis. This damage is increases by Action Skill Cooldown Rate.

Mechanics

Against enemies immune to Stasis, the Cryo and Radiation Bonus Area Damage is applied per inhereting bonus element.

  • Example: with Watts 4 Dinner and Decoherence, the two Bonus Area Damage sources will trigger an additional two times.
  • Against non-Stasis immune enemies, the Bonus Area Damage will only apply once no matter how many source-inheriting bonus elements you have.

Mechanics

  • Action Skill restoration appears to be based on current duration and not missing duration.
  • Bonus Shock Element is 4% per stack up to a cap of 50 stacks (200%)
  • Bonus Element inherits all sources and also benefits from Gun Damage

Special Effect - Vex gains Increased Damage Dealt the longer Incarnate is Active, doubling this bonus for Action Skill Damage. Additionally, when Incarnate ends, she causes a Phase Explosion.

  • 'doubling this bonus for Action Skill Damage' just means it will provide an equal Action Skill Damage boost alongside the Increased Damage Dealt.

Mechanics

The maximum damage boosts are:

  • 150% Damage Dealt
  • 150% Action Skill Damage
    • This makes for 1.5% per stack.

This caps out at 100 stacks.

  • Generates around 2 stacks per second while Incarnate is active, meaning it takes 50 seconds to reach maximum damage.

The Phase Explosion is the same as the usual Incarnate Phase Explosion.

Mechanics

  • The Tier 1 Weapon Damage is 10% On Shot Gun Damage.
  • The Tier 3 Damage Boost is 100% On Shot Gun Damage.

The Tier 3 Damage Boost effect has a few quirks:

  • On weapons that have Order Charge, every single shot in the entire burst will receive the boost as long as you fire the first shot within the 0.5s window.
  • On weapons that have Ripper Charge, only the first shot fired within the 0.5s window will receive the boost.
