The middle lane is one of the most popular lanes in League of Legends. It is also one of the most diverse. This is why it is so important to play strong Mid Lane champions in Patch 14.3, so you do not get outclassed by the enemy.

In this Mobalytics guide, we will discuss 5 of the best picks you can abuse this Patch in League of Legends. If you wish to master any of these champions or learn to play anyone else in LoL, head over to the Mobalytics’ Champion Page. for more!

Akshan

Akshan will be the first recommendation on for the best Mid Laners you should be playing on Patch 14.3. He is a ranged AD champion, which is great in LoL as you don’t find many strong AD ranged champions outside of the ADC role. Akshan can abuse the melee and low-ranged champions who are strong in the current meta.

Team fighting is crucial in LoL, and Akshan is actually really good in the mid and late-game. He can get picks with his invisibility and also scout for his team. He can also one-shot isolated targets with his Ultimate if he is ahead. Another benefit to Akshan in team fights is his Passive which he can use to bring his allies back to life.

Akshan Mid-Patch Stats:

  • Akshan is not getting touched this patch.
  • Akshan’s win rate in patch 14.2 was 52.7%.
  • He had a 2.8% Pick Rate.
  • While he is quite annoying to play against, he doesn’t get banned or picked that much, either. He had a 4.8% pick rate.
  • In Emerald+, he was played 54,487 times.

Twisted Fate

Twisted Fate recently received some changes to his kit, which has overall made him a stronger champion, and if you’ve been able to adapt to his new abilities, then you will know how good he is right now. TF doesn’t have the most convincing matchups nor laning phase, but if he can get out of the laning phase either ahead or even, then he will be amazing in the mid and late game.

Even though we just said that team fighting is important, TF has great pick potential with his Ultimate. A lot of players avoid grouping in the mid-game so they can pick up CS or XP. If Twisted Fate is ahead, he can use his Ultimate to catch them out of position and kill them. In the very late game, he would’ve completed multiple items, including Rapid Fire Cannon so his Gold Card can lock someone down from afar and his team can collapse on them.

Twisted Fate Mid-Patch Stats:

  • On patch 14.3, Twisted Fate isn’t getting any buffs or nerfs.
  • His win rate in patch 14.2 was 52.5%.
  • He had a 11.3% Pick Rate. This is a bit higher compared to last patch due to his buffs in the previous patch.
  • H has a ban rate of 9.4%.
  • And finally in Emerald+, he was played 222,821 times.

Yone

If you’re looking to climb in the easiest way possible, why don’t you try Yone? Yone is one of the most broken champions in LoL right now, with plenty of ways to get in and out of team fights. Yone is more dominant in the Top Lane, but he is a great Mid Laner, too. So playing and maining Yone can allow you to master 2 lanes simultaneously!

Yone has a lot of tools to get in and out of fights. Especially post 6 where he can use his Ultimate to kill his squishy lane opponent. Post 6, he also has lane priority, so he can roam around the map and help his Jungler secure the Void Grubs and Rift Herald. Outside of the laning phase, Yone is also very strong when it comes to split pushing as he can 1v1 most champions, and he is great in team fights too.

Yone Mid-Patch Stats:

  • By the looks of it, Yone has somehow escaped the nerf or buff cannon.
  • Yone had a win rate on patch 14.2 of 50.8%.
  • He had a 6.8% Pick Rate.
  • Yone is really annoying to play against. Unsurprisingly, he has a ban rate of 14.7%.
  • In Emerald+, Yone was played 134,099 times.

Ekko

Ekko is the next champion on our list. Ekko is a fantastic champion for those who love AP champions and love making risky plays. He is one of the few consistent Mid Laners in the current meta, and he is always good even when he is behind due to his adaptive build style.

Just like Yone, Ekko has good lane priority and wave clear. Post 6, he could keep pushing his enemy into their tower while he looks to roam around the map. He can then help his Jungler, or just go and invade the enemy’s jungle and steal away camps, or go help his side lakers. Ekko is very good at roaming and picking up kills elsewhere on the map, so if you want to play a roaming champion, give Ekko a go!

Ekko Mid-Patch Stats:

  • I feel that Ekko is pretty balanced, so Riot isn’t buffing or nerfing them this patch.
  • Ekko’s win rate in patch 14.2 was 50.3%.
  • He had a 4.7% Pick Rate.
  • He has a ban rate of 3.1%.
  • In Emerald+, Ekko was played 93,056 times.

Katarina

And the final champion, who happens to be one of the best Mid Laners in LoL right now is Katarina. Katarina is very strong in the current meta. She is really annoying to play against due to her mobility and damage output. She has a lot of snowball potential, and getting one early kill can result in her taking over the lane and then asserting her dominance elsewhere on the map.

Katarina is very frustrating, which causes players to make mistakes against her, which she can capitalise on. Like some other champions on the list, she can roam around the map and pick up kills elsewhere. Then when she gets back to lane, she can abuse the lane changes to chase her opponent down and kill them over and over again. It must be said that Katarina is quite hard to play though, so expect to int on her a bit if you start to learn her this patch!

Katarina Mid-Patch Stats:

  • On patch 14.3, Katarina isn’t getting any buffs or nerfs.
  • Her win rate in patch 14.2 was 51.5%.
  • She had a 9.2% Pick Rate.
  • Katarina is one of the most frustrating Mid-Lane champions to play against. No wonder she has a 14.5% ban rate.
  • In Emerald+, she was played 181,533 times.

That about sums up our guide on 5 of the best Mid Laners for Patch 14.3. What do you think of the Mid lane meta right now? Let us know below.
