Attributes, Gear, Weapons, & Essences Explained

Attributes

In Arknights: Endfield, there are four Attributes. Operators will have a Primary (or Main) Attribute along with a Secondary Attribute. Furthermore, these Attributes inherently grant bonuses to Operators.

  • Strength: Increased Max HP
  • Agility: Increased Physical DMG Reduction
  • Intellect: Increased Arts DMG Reduction
  • Will: Increased Treatment Received

An Operator's Main Attribute will grant .5% ATK per point. The Secondary Attribute will grant .2% ATK per point.

Example:

Endministrator Primary Attribute is Agility and Secondary Attribute is Strength.

100 Agility and 100 Strength will grant -> 50% ATK + 20% ATK = 70% ATK

Don't always pick Main Attribute

It’s important to note that some Operators’ Kit can synergize even further with their Secondary or other attributes, so depending on their role on the team it might be a good idea to focus on attributes that are not the main attribute. Gear

Unlike other gacha games, Endfield's Gear system actually does not have much RNG. Each piece of Gear will provide 3 bonus stats.

  • Bonus Attribute 1
  • Bonus Attribute 2
  • Misc Stat

For example, Tide Fall Light Armor gives Intellect, Strength, and Ultimate Gain Efficiency.

These stats are locked into the Gear piece and will not change. There are plenty of Gear pieces in the game, and you are expected to craft the exact setup you want for your Operators. No RNG with random stat upgrades.

How to Obtain Gear

Arknights: Endfield relies on AIC (the Base) to craft gear for your characters. The crafted gear is always the same and it doesn’t rely on your Daily Energy or include Stat rolls as other games. Lower level gears will be automatically unlocked as you level up your account, but high level gear requires exploring the map to unlock them. Operators also require the proper promotion and ability node in order to equip higher tiers of gear sets.

How to Equip Gear

Each operator can equip 1 Armor, 1 Gloves, and 2 Kits. These are the only 3 Gear types.

Gear Set Effects are activated when equip 3 pieces of the same set. This allows you to use 1 "off-set" piece, often picked by prioritizing stat bonuses over the Gear Set requirement.

You can also equip Tacticals on your operator, which is a consumable that you can use during battles.

Gear Sets

Gear Sets are activated by equipping 3 pieces from the same Gear Set. The Kit you equip can also be the same and count toward the Gear Set for 2 pieces.

For a full list of Gear Set Effects, check out our Gear Page.

Weapons

Endfield has five different weapons:

  • Sword
  • Greatsword
  • Polearm
  • Handcannon
  • Arts Unit

Each Operator uses a specific type of weapon, meaning that if the Operator is a Sword user, they can only equip Swords. Just like Operators, Weapons also have different rarities, with 6-Star being the highest, and 3-Star being the lowest.

Weapon Stats

Every Weapon will provide three bonuses:

  • Stat 1 Bonus Corresponding to a Main Attribute
  • Stat 2 Bonus providing other stats such as Crit Rate, Ultimate Gain, etc
  • Passive Effect that provides a unique bonus

For example Khravengger provides:

  • Stat 1: Strength
  • Stat 2: Attack
  • Passive: Detonate: Bonechilling (passive effect granting extra Cryo DMG against an enemy with Cryo Infliction)

Signature Weapons

Each operator has a specific weapon designed for their kit, often called “Signature Weapon”. Signature Weapons will often match in rarity to their respective Operator.

While they are designed for a specific operator, it doesn’t mean they require their signatures, or that signature weapons can only be used by the respective Operator.

Signature Weapon Example: Last Rite & Khravengger

How to Level Up Weapons (and their Bonuses)

Just like Operators, Weapons can be levelled up and promoted. You will also notice that the stat bonuses and passive have levels. Each bonus has a max level of 9. You can promote your Weapon 4 times, each giving +1 to Stat 1 or Stat 2, alternating.

At max level, your weapon will be:

  • Stat 1 - 3/9
  • Stat 2 - 3/9
  • Passive - 1/9

In order to increase the Passive Level, you will need to increase the Potential of the Weapon with Dupes. You can increase Potential 5 times, resulting in:

  • Stat 1 - 3/9
  • Stat 2 - 3/9
  • Passive - 6/9

In order to get the last 6, 6, and 3 levels, you will need to equip an Essence.

Essences

Essences are a piece of equipment that you slot into your weapon to get those last bonus levels. An Essence can have up to 3 stats, each corresponding to the different stats you get on a Weapon.

You will have noticed that the Passive Weapon Effect has a "name." For example, Khravengger has a "Detonate" Passive.

In order to maximize your Khravengger, you will want to equip an Essence with Strength, Attack, and Detonate.

How to Get Essences

Essences are drops from Energy Alluvium Sites, which cost Sanity (Stamina) and randomly drop an Essence for you.

Different Energy Alluvium Sites have different drops, and you can always check them before spending your sanity. Furthermore, you can also use tickets to pre-engrave stats to your essence. You can’t select all the stats, but you can lower some of the reliance on RNG to get your essence.

Upgrading Essences

Essences are the only RNG aspect when building Operators in Arknights: Endfield. When you drop the correct Essence you want, you're almost done. You will need to upgrade your Essence to the max level in order to get the final +6, +6, +3.

Getting the Essence is the first part, as you will spend your Sanity until you get the right stats you want. Upgrading them is another RNG layer. The more you upgrade an Essence, the more likely you will fail the next upgrade. If you've played games like Maplestory, you will understand this system.

Closing Words

This wraps up everything you need to know about Attributes, Gear, Gear Sets, Weapons, Essences, and more.

Now that you're familiar with this system, you'll understand why certain things display the way they do.

For example, our website showcases 6 Star Weapons (Khravengger) with their bonuses at:

  • 9/9
  • 9/9
  • 4/9

This is because we only expect players to obtain 1 copy of a 6 Star Weapon. This is the max bonus you can have on a weapon with only 1 copy.

5-Star Weapons like Sundering Steel we display at full 9/9. As you continue playing the game, you will eventually obtain more copies of 4 and 5-Star weapons, making a fully maxed Weapon somewhat reasonable.

As for Gear, we only showcase endgame pieces that are "Gold" Rarity. These provide the strongest stat bonuses, and are the pieces you should look to optimize in the endgame.

Hope this guide helped you learn something about Endfield, and good luck with your rolls!
