Every game has its Catcher. He can protect your team, weaken enemies and even apply Physical Status, but he’s easily outclassed by other Operators.

Former Finery - Alt:
Sundered Prince
Catcher’s Signature offers great stats, but the Weapon Effect only increases his DEF and requires using his Ultimate. Other 6-Star Options can offer better damage or utility, but they aren’t needed as all of them are situational.
Exemplar offers great stats if you want to deal more damage with Catcher. No Utility or Defensive Stats, just pure damage.
Former Finery increases his DEF and allows Catcher to heal teammates after anyone takes damage while under his Battle Skill, which is exactly what you’re already doing with him.
Sundered Prince is a great option if you’re Controlling Catcher, as it increases the Stagger from Catcher Basics.

Eternal Xiranite Set increases Catcher's support capabilities, good set on him.

Swordmancer Flint
Use Swordmancer for more stagger after using Catcher’s Battle Skill/Ultimate. Even better if you’re using it alongside Sundered Prince.
Skill Priority
Battle Skill = Basic Attack > Ultimate > Combo Skill
Focus on his Battle Skill for some extra damage whenever retaliating enemy attacks, followed by his Basic Attacks, since you’ll use a lot of them while waiting for something to happen. Ultimate is good for damage and Combo Skill only shields half of your team, so leave it as last priority.
Potential
- P1 Multi-layered Readiness
- P2 Bonus Spec Training
- P3 Unwavering Post
- P4 Compensated Suffering
- P5 Choice Without Regrets
As a 4-Star Operator, Catcher’s Potentials are easier to obtain and increase both his Damage and Support potential. None of them provides significant changes and doesn’t change how you play Catcher.
How to Play
Catcher is mostly used by Physical Teams for his Vulnerable application. It requires getting hit while using his battle skill or using his Ultimate, making it less reliable than other Operators.
Combo Skill can shield both Catcher and another teammate but you can’t control the trigger, since it requires enemies charging up their attacks or getting below 40% HP.
If needed, his Ultimate can weaken and apply Vulnerable to enemies. It has good damage and AoE, further expanded by his Combat Talents.
Overall there’s not so much you can do when playing Catcher, you use his Battle Skill before taking damage, Ultimate and Combo Skill whenever available and that’s all.
Release Date
Catcher will release on January 22nd, 2026 along with the release of Arknights: Endfield.
Catcher is a Standard Operator, meaning they are permanently available through the gacha system.
