Some new changes including a new talent capstone
Wrack which is a channeled spell on the target that increases the damage the target takes from your shadow damage over time effects by 10%. Changes to warlock weapon imbues,
Create Spellstone Major Spellstone now increases your spell haste by 2% and the damage done by your shadow spells up to 21 for max rank,
Create Firestone Major Firestone now increases your spell critical strike chance by 2% and the damage done by your fire spells by up to 21 for max rank.
By this point we should have some crit, some decent amount of spell power and be lvl 52.
It is time to take the previously skipped
Wrack,
Pandemic and then you have 4 points left. We'd recommend
Suppression,
Improved Life Tap,
Grim Reach or
Nightfall based on your playstyle. You can also opt into more stamina or
Fel Domination for pvp.
Affliction has always been the premier leveling choice for warlocks, and is alongside Demonology alternative, the guide we would recommend for warlocks. It focuses heavily on
Drain Life and all the synergies around it. We are keeping up
Corruption
Bane of Agony
Siphon Life and just draining the life of our enemies. This alongside
Life Tap means we basically never have to drink and eat, which makes our uptime extremely efficient.
In the early levels
Lesser Magic Wand carries the rough start for warlocks and we keep using
Immolate for quite some time.
Summon Voidwalker has been improved, but since we are not speccing into it, it will not be very good at keeping aggro. You can choose for yourself between Imp and Void, based on DPS requirement and comfort. If you just want a chill laid back experience, voidwalker is the play.
At lvl 20 we gain access to a much stronger pet
Summon Succubus, which will stay with us for the majority of the journey. It has very strong dps, and by early 30s we can already comfortably face tank everything, so there isn't a need for pet tank on normal mobs any more, for elites and hard hitting mobs you should have a Voidwalker ready.
We start by taking
Improved Corruption 5/5,
Suppression 4/5 followed by
Improved Drains 3/3 and
Fel Concentration 3/3. Before this point using drain life isn't really efficient due to pushback, Fel Concentration will reduce the pushback up to 70% when fully picked.
Soul Harvest is not good enough early, but it becomes very nice once around lvl 35- 40, once we can proc it with rank 1 drain soul which doesnt take any mana. If you want it, take points from Suppression.
Pandemic is a great talent they brought from Wrath, but due to our low crit % during leveling, its not good enough. It will be mandatory in raid and dungeon variants.
Improved Bane of Agony 2/2 and
Malevolence 5/5 are both great dps increases so we take both.
Improved Life Tap,
Suppression,
Grim Reach,
Curse of Exhaustion and
Nightfall are all decent quality of life picks, especially Curse of Exhaustion and Nightfall if you want to do a lot of PvP. You can take points from Suppression for any of these.
We also take
Soul Siphon 3/3 which boosts our drain damage.
Shadow Mastery for mandatory 5/5 shadow damage.
Wrack is not good enough and it takes a rotation spot of a "drain", so we skip it. If you want to do a lot of pvp, it can be great ability to add the burst with all the dots, but in many cases, it will still be better to just Drain Life.
