STS 2 Tier List

Slay the Spire 2 Card Tier List

Updated on Apr 22, 2026

Overview

Welcome to our preliminary Card tier list for Slay the Spire 2. Here we'll give you our rankings of the card pool for each of the five Characters.

While it's far from perfect, our intention is to help players better evaluate their picks during a run. Please be sure to read through our methodology, as the rankings alone won't determine a card's strength.

04/17/2026: We're working to update the cards and tier lists to reflect the latest patch. For now, please take everything with a grain of salt while we get things up to speed.

Disclaimer:

Seeing as the game has recently launched into Early Access, consider this an early look while we still learn and explore the mechanics of the game. We'll continue updating the list along the way, especially as future balance patches shake things up.

Methodology

Here's a quick look at how we'll be evaluating and ranking each card. By nature, each run of Slay the Spire is extremely contextual. Certain cards will be outstanding in some cases, yet completely useless in others. As such, the more flexible a card is, the higher we'll rate it. We're also taking into account the card's base version, and upgraded version.

Note: We won't be including Multiplayer cards here, but feel free to try them out during co-op!

S-Tier: The best of the best. These cards are highly sought after regardless of the run you're playing, and are almost always positive at any time. Likely to be extremely run defining and provide direction for your deck.

A-Tier: Cards in this tier are often run warping, but not always worth adding at all points in the run. They may require certain key combo cards to truly shine or may be best in slot during small portions of the run.

B-Tier: May be slightly niche, but are likely to provide good value. May not be best in slot in their role, or fall off significantly in the later portions of the run, but are serviceable enough

C-Tier: Often extremely niche, but may solve very specific problems for your deck. Desperation may lead to clicking cards in this tier in order to solve significant short term issues.

D-Tier: Usually over-costed, clunky, "bad" in the vast majority of cases, or even often negative to add to the deck.
