Balls of Fire VD spellslinger

Volatile Dead Spellslinger Elementalist is hands down the most fun I've had in Path of Exile in years. It's an awesome all rounder with a strong league start that can comfortably scale all the way through to Ubers without costing an arm and a leg.

You can cruise through T16 maps wearing mostly 2-stat rares, and the campaign is an absolute breeze with nothing more than a bench crafted 1 stat weapon.

Once you start pushing into the mid game, your first big upgrade is Sandstorm Visage, which lets you transition into a critical strike setup. I'd recommend holding off on going crit before then, as Volatile Dead only has a 5% base critical strike chance, and fire damage has some of the weakest options when it comes to scaling crit early on.

As you move into the end game, you'll swap over to a multi-link Archdemon Crown, replacing Sandstorm Visage as your source of extra base critical strike chance.

Your main skill is Frenzy, a wand attack that triggers your Spellslinger setup. As you move through maps, simply Shield Charge between packs while attacking with Frenzy. Volatile Dead will automatically create and seek out enemies, clearing packs up to roughly two screens away without needing to manually target anything.

For tougher enemies, such as early map bosses and Pinnacle bosses, I like to self-cast Flammability for the extra fire resistance reduction and added damage. If you prefer a more automated playstyle, you can instead apply Flammability through a ring modifier later on.
