Path of Building Code

Build Overview

This is a budget league-start progression for Ignite Elementalist.

The build begins with Freezing Pulse, transitions into Firestorm during the campaign, and finishes the campaign using Penance Brand Ignite. The progression is designed to be smooth, inexpensive, and practical without relying on difficult-to-acquire items.

The endgame gearing requirements are relatively modest, making the build suitable for both Solo Self-Found and Trade League. The budget setup is capable of handling normal endgame content, while still leaving plenty of room for further investment and higher-budget upgrades.

I will be streaming this league start live on Twitch and posting build updates on YouTube that take the character beyond the budget starter setup covered in this guide.

Weapon Crafts for Campaign

- Act 3 The Solaris Temple Level 2 - In a room next to the lady that gives you the Sewers quest rewards, there is a crafting recipe for Added Fire Damage to Spells. Use this craft on your Sceptre's prefix, its alot of bonus damage and will help make the campaign easier!

Act 5 Free 5-Link

do league mechanic in slave pens for a 5 link

do league mechanic in twilight strand (act 6) for a 2nd 5 link

Note: It seems you may have to run the zone potentially a few times in order for this to drop. It dropped for me right away, but twitch chat didn't all get it on the first run.

Help Alira for the 15% bonus to all Elemental Resistances.

Map Regex

This regex filters out the following map modifiers:

Strengths and Weaknesses

  • Easy unique gearing
  • Strong endgame upgrade paths
  • Screenwide explode with Obliteration and Lost Unity
  • Average early boss damage (good enough for 4 stones)

Build Variants

Equipment

Endgame Unique Gearing

The following uniques are strong options for progressing the build into the endgame. Some are inexpensive transitional items, while others are intended for the final high-budget Herald-stacking setup.

Weapons

Nycta's Lantern or Rebuke of the Vaal or Martyr of Innocence
These weapons provide excellent damage when paired with Spellblade Support. These are generally the best accessible options before acquiring a premium endgame weapon.

Obliteration
Use Obliteration when you want faster mapping and additional explosion-based clear. Remove Spellblade Support when using this weapon, as Obliteration does not provide enough weapon damage to justify the support gem.

Grace of the Goddess
This is the high-budget endgame weapon for the build. It drops from Uber Maven, so you should not expect to obtain one on day one—and potentially not even on day two—of a new league.

Rings

Mark of Submission
Provides front-loaded curse automation and a substantial damage increase. This is particularly useful before you have access to more advanced curse setups.

Polaric Devastation
Place this in the left ring slot to gain a large damage increase through its Cover Enemies in Ash effect.

Lost Unity
A Herald-stacking ring and a core component of the final endgame setup. This is primarily intended for the high-investment version of the build.

Helmet

Honourhome
A strong budget helmet for Penance Brand, particularly before obtaining a six-link body armour. Its gem-level modifiers can provide excellent early damage for a very low cost.

Shield

Aegis Aurora
Aegis Aurora becomes an exceptionally powerful defensive layer once the build has accumulated high Armour and substantial Attack and Spell Block.

The shield should not be treated as a standalone defensive solution. Its effectiveness depends heavily on having enough Armour and Energy Shield, as well as reaching or approaching the block cap.

Flasks

Rumi's Concoction
An inexpensive way to gain additional Attack and Spell Block. This is especially useful while working toward block cap before your passive tree and equipment are fully optimized.

Cinderswallow Urn
A strong offensive flask that can provide a significant damage increase. Cinderswallow has several possible modifiers, so inspect the exact version carefully before purchasing one.

Jewels

The Light of Meaning

  • The Light of Meaning (Armour): Usually inexpensive and provides a very large amount of Armour when placed in an appropriate jewel socket.
  • The Light of Meaning (Fire Damage): Also commonly affordable and provides a solid damage increase.

The Red Nightmare
A high-budget option for gaining additional Attack Block. Its effectiveness depends heavily on where it is socketed and which nearby passive nodes are allocated.

Elegant Hubris (Caspiro Supreme Ostentation)
Used in very high-budget versions of the build. It allows you to restructure part of the passive tree and create space for additional Herald-effect tattoos. Because the transformed notables vary between seeds, evaluate the exact jewel before purchasing it.

Freezing Pulse - Elemental Proliferation Support - Added Lightning Damage Support - Added Cold Damage Support

note: added lightning damage, and added cold damage are ABSOLUTELY MASSIVE power increases. you should be putting these on before the brutus boss fight, if possible. this is the most important thing to do in this act. elemental prolif support is unimportant, its just the free support you start with.

Frostblink - Arcane Surge Support

leave arcane surge at low level (right click it to disable level ups)

Holy Flame Totem

great damage, used to tank enemy boss hits, creates conc ground that heals you. overall amazing utility skill

Flame Wall

cast under mob and shoot freezing pulse through it. this is an optional skill gem, and can be dropped at any time

Frost Bomb

good boss damage

Shield Charge - Faster Attacks Support - Momentum Support

you can make a level 1 ranger and kill hillock for the optional momentum support, which will improve the speed of shield charge slightly
