Build Overview

THE NEW BEST SLAM IN PoE

Holy Hammers is a new Slam skill that becomes MUCH more powerful when you consume a Power Charge on use.

I will be updating this guide constantly - CHECK MY STREAM FOR LIVE UPDATES / ASK QUESTIONS

SKILL ROTATION

CLEARING

1) Leap Slam & Frostblink to enemy packs
be sure to "animation cancel" Leap Slam by using Frostblink at Leap Slam's apex
*2) Rallying Cry (OPTIONAL - only use on tanky Rare enemies)
3) Holy Hammers

do NOT use your Tincture while clearing - it will annihilate your mana!

SINGLE TARGET

Holy Hammers is able to OVERLAP its damage on a single target - to do this consistently:

!! STAND AWAY FROM THE TARGET !!

your initial hit's AoE will deal damage AND spawn another hammer ("Cascade") to also hit

once you have perma Power Charges, you should also AIM OFF-CENTER of the target - your initial slam will still hit but, now, the "extra" Hammer that spawns (via Power Charge consume) will also hit
this "extra" Hammer has better overlap than a Cascade from your Slam

ENSURE THAT YOU HAVE "Always Attack Without Moving" TOGGLED ON FOR Holy Hammers
Left Click Holy Hammers' icon > toggle the option ON at the top

*1) Static Strike (w Power Charge On Critical Support)
*this is only necessary pre- Ashes of the Stars
2) Rallying Cry
3) pop Tincture (if you have one)
3) Holy Hammers spam

refresh Rallying Cry (and Static Strike) as needed

LEVELING

Holy Hammers requires level 28 and is acquired after killing Gravicius in Act 3

use Ground Slam until level 12 then swap to Sunder (after entering Cavern of Wrath)
you must BUY BOTH GEMS FROM NESSA as a Templar (for whatever reason lol)

at level 28, you can either swap to Holy Hammers (after killing Gravicius) or continue using Sunder
they are very similar at this point

HOWEVER, once you acquire a Romira's Banquet AND reach level 60, DEFINITELY swap over to Holy Hammers
Holy Hammers clear is 3x better when consuming a Power Charge

Regex of Map mods to avoid:

LV1 SUPPORT GEM CORRUPTS (new "Coins")

There are quite a few options for a Level 1 support on Holy Hammers (via the new "Coins") - I suggest doing Coins of Power (red) but Coins of Knowledge (blue) are alright too

best reds are: Endurance Charge on Melee Stun Support, Inspiration Support, Overexertion Support, Melee Physical Damage Support, Pulverise Support, Lifetap Support
best blues are: Physical to Lightning Support, Power Charge On Critical Support, Increased Critical Damage Support

CRAFTING YOUR GEAR

once you have 10-15div liquid, I suggest crafting a Staff and Body Armor. details are in the "HYPER Endgame" variant's Equipment section

HYPER ENDGAME STUFF

Forbidden Flesh & Flame Unwavering Crusade is great if you want to focus more on Bossing than "normal juiced" stuff
I don't run them, personally, but they're like ~30% more dmg if you want it

Strengths and Weaknesses

  • great clear
  • great single target
  • lots of regen (Sanctuary x Pious Path)
  • slamma jamma
  • have to overlap hits for max single target (stand AWAY from enemy!)
  • Large Cluster Jewel required for mana leech (Fuel the Fight)

ensure your The Blue Dream is socketed in the slot above Endurance (to hit Holy Dominion), allowing for Admonisher to be anointed on Ashes of the Stars

CRAFTING YOUR ENDGAME GEAR

at this point, you should have extraneous funds to start meticulously utilizing (read: gambling) to get upgrades. I recommend starting with your Weapon and then moving on to your Body Armor

WEAPON CRAFT (avg ~15div)

use Deafening Essence of Contempt on a fractured Ezomyte Staff (or Eventuality Rod) with t2+ %phys/+acc (hybrid) OR %phys (regular) until you hit t3+ of the other %phys type (opposite of fracture)
obv, the tier you buy and stop at depends on your budget and whether or not you want to settle

LOCK PREFIXES at Crafting Bench ("Prefixes Cannot be Changed" - recipe from Coward's Trial map) then Harvest Reforge Speed until t3+ attack speed
!! YOU MUST LOCK YOUR PREFIXES BEFORE EVERY HARVEST REFORGE !!

depending on your result, you may:

- have full suffixes = either be finished OR hit a yolo annul (GL lol)
- have ONE open suffix = craft "%crit chance/+str&int"
- have TWO open suffixes and want to save $$ = craft "%fire dmg" (block) and yolo exalt
then craft "%crit chance/+str&int"
- have ONE or TWO open suffixes and have big boi $$ = craft "Prefixes Cannot be Changed" and yolo Veiled Exalt
if it hits off the craft = GG; block "chaos dot multi" and unveil (looking for "crit dmg nearby rare/unique"), then craft "%crit chance/+str&int"
if it hits off attack speed = back to Harvest Gulag buddy

BODY ARMOR CRAFT (avg ~6div)

use Essence of Horror on a fractured ilv86+ Sacred Chainmail with either t2+ %armor/es OR t2+ +armor/es (flat) until you hit BOTH OF:
- t3+ %phys dmg reduction ("pdr")
- t3+ Resistance (does not matter the type - use Harvest to swap it, if necessary)

MAKE SEARING EXARCH DOMINANT then use Eldritch Chaos Orb until t2+ other armor/es prefix (opposite of fracture)
if it rolls with ANY life mod, keep going (bricks 15% life mastery)

if you have an open Prefix at this final step, craft "%chance to block spells" ("attacks" is fine too)

at this point, your damage should be MORE than high enough, so it's best to swap one rare jewel out for a Reckless Defence w MAX BLOCK ROLLS (BOTH!) AND swapping your Crit Mastery to "30% reduced extra taken" (paired with Essence of Horror body armor mod)

Mind Over Matter is CORRUPTED SOUL (via Glorious Vanity (Doryani Corrupted Soul))

this will ensure tanky targets are always on Consecrated Ground for Sanctuary's dmg increase
KEEP Purifying Flame AT LEVEL 1
