Build Overview

MIRAGE LEAGUE INFO

Earthshatter was nerfed by about 18%, Autoexertion had its reservation cost go up (have to drop one warcry from it) AND Overexertion Support got HEAVILY (~30%) nerfed

overall, TOTAL damage is down by about 35%

HOWEVER...

Earthshatter is still one of the best slams in the game. ALL Slam builds got hit by 2/3 of the nerfs just mentioned and an 18% nerf to Earthshatter doesn't change it much, relative to the other Slams.

<><><><><><><><><><><><><><><><><><><><><><><><><><><><><><><><><><><><><><><><><><><><>

Earthshatter damage is calculated by the initial impact PLUS any spikes that detonate ("pop") close enough to the target
usually 2 spikes per attack, sometimes 3 or 4, RARELY 6

Spikes can only be popped via warcries, so the goal is to always have at least one warcry go off (either manually or via Autoexertion) per Earthshatter attack. The easiest way to do this is to stagger the quality on all warcries linked to Autoexertion, as this will slightly alter their cooldowns.

WHY Juggernaut OVER Berserker?

Juggernaut has about 50% less dmg but is about 25% tankier (close to 50% tankier against phys dmg) and has massive Quality-of-Life with Unstoppable (very important for giga-juiced maps & Ubers)

keep in mind that Berserker also has constant hp degen due to Rite of Ruin - not a big deal but not irrelevant, either.

basically, going Juggernaut allows you to ignore almost ALL of the normal "ups and downs" you'll inevitably encounter during the campaign (and especially early/mid maps) and focus-in on the one thing that everyone loves the most - scaling more damage.

therefore, if you are a newer player, I ABSOLUTELY recommend Juggernaut, no questions asked, whereas, if you have more experience, Berserker is definitely a good choice.

you can always respec your Ascendancy, if you want to try both out (the regular trees are almost identical)
here is what a $$-Endgame Berserker may look like

SKILL ROTATION

CLEARING

always pop Blood Rage as soon as entering a map

  1. Leap Slam / Frostblink into monsters
you can "cancel" the end of Leap Slam's animation by using Frostblink before you land
  2. Earthshatter (Autoexertion will usually pop spikes)
  3. * Rallying Cry (*if available & spikes did not pop)

also, remember to re-activate Blood Rage every so often, in case it ran out during downtime.

SINGLE TARGET

  1. Vulnerability & War Banner (if available)
  2. Rallying Cry
  3. Earthshatter 2-3x

repeat steps 2-3 constantly until target is dead and remember to refresh Vulnerability, if necessary.

LEVELING

Use Sunder for all of the campaign & early maps.

Only the basics of leveling are included in this guide as I have an ENTIRELY SEPARATE, FULLY DETAILED LEVELING GUIDE

<><><><><><><><><><><><><><><><><><><><><><><><><><><><><><><><><><><><><><><><><><><><>

if you have any questions, stop by the stream and I'll help you out!

Strengths and Weaknesses

  • Good single target
  • Good clear
  • Excellent defense & recovery
  • Excellent QoL (Slow & Stun immune)
  • Not as high single target as Berserker or Slayer
  • melee lol (close range & weapon-dependent)

Build Variants

I recommend that you swap to Earthshatter once you are comfortably in maps
Sunder is perfectly fine for clearing white maps and gathering your initial Atlas Passives

The only requirements for swapping to Earthshatter are:

  1. Allocate ALL necessary Warcry passives on the tree (anoint or regularly allocate Admonisher)
  2. have one source of "Warcries Cannot Exert Travel Skills" (either crafted on jewelry or the mastery)
  3. have one source of "%phys att dmg leeched as mana" (on rings/amulet or a Viridian Jewel)

The swap can happen as early as level 70 if you know what you're doing but will probably be closer to level 80
Remember to unspec out of the leveling passives!

However, I also STRONGLY recommend that you grab 1 or 2 pieces of jewelry with "Non-Channelling Skills have -x to Mana Cost" (found in the Orchard map)

This makes your Autoexertion Warcries cost 0 mana and will GREATLY improve the QoL of the build
You'll likely want to run an Eternal Mana Flask with the "Enduring" mod on it OR simply drop Battlemage's Cry from Autoexertionuntil you get two non-channel mana mods

KEEPERS UPDATE 1

get a FOULBORN Uul-Netol's Kiss with "Warcries Exert 1 Additional Attack" ASAP!
it's incredibly cheap and very good, for the price

and once you get TWO rolls of "-x non-Channeling mana costs" (Orchard map), you can use one with "500% increased warcry cooldown recovery rate", allowing you to DROP ALL WARCRY NODES ON THE PASSIVE TREE

------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

ensure that you have one source of "%phys att dmg leeched as mana" (on rings/amulet or a Viridian Jewel)

get the "-x to Non-Channeling Skills mana cost" ASAP (Orchard map)
also, don't forget "Warcries cannot Exert Travel Skills"!

then, buy ANY 6L ARMOR-BASE BODY - you do NOT care what the stats are, only that it is a PURE armor base (not hybrid evasion / energy shield), then, simply chaos spam it a few times (or Harvest reforge) until it rolls decently-well (life, armor, resistances, %pdr, etc)
this will net you the most bang for your buck, as you can buy a "bad" 6L for very cheap and get decent stats on it in under 20 chaos (remember to craft on a missing stat, such as life or resistances)

if you cannot afford to anoint Admonisher, simply spec into it the normal way (drop Harvester of Foes and Devotion, temporarily)

look for a medium cluster with at least Lead By Example
you'll also eventually want Warning Call with it but it's a bit more $$

the first "big" upgrade I'd do is a weapon - Look for a 700-800 pDPS axe with AS HIGH TOP-END PHYS DAMAGE AS POSSIBLE!
You are NOT looking for a fast axe (aka NOT Despot Axe)!

Ideally, you want ~1.3 attacks-per-second Vaal Axe / Karui Chopper
you can save $$ by manually linking it (only need 5L) if your body is a 6L.

get 20% quality on Earthshatter first, then Autoexertion

once Autoexertion is 20%, start putting DIFFERING AMOUNTS OF QUALITY on the warcries linked to it - this will stagger their uses and pop your Earthshatter spikes more frequently!
i.e: Intimidating Cry at 20%, Seismic Cry at 16%, Infernal Cry at 14%, etc

Changelog

3/4 - updated to include all nerfs (Earthshatter dmg down, Autoexertion mana res up, Overexertion Support dmg down)
