Build Overview

Here's my guide for my Cyclone Slayer League Starter to Endgame Build for Patch 3.29 Curse of the Allflame!

If you have any Questions - Come by my Twitch Here and I'll Help you out!

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

🚨Work in Progress, be sure to come by the Twitch Stream for the Newest Skill Tree and Gems as I'm changing it to test new things!🚨

---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Cyclone / Cyclone of Tumult is a very easy league starter that can carry you into T16's with little to no currency! What's even better is that it continues to scale really well into Endgame with some more Investment. The more currency, the higher it'll scale (duh)!

This league we'll be utilizing some cool tech with Animate Guardian which we can make immortal with some crazy interactions I'll talk about in its own section. This will replace the Autoexertion + General's Cry Tech that we've used the past couple leagues but feel free to continue using it if you want.

Cyclone Mapping/Bossing -

Mapping and Bossing will be handled by Cyclone of Tumult which is a bigger and better version of Cyclone. Tumult has larger AoE and a higher DPS ceiling but has the drawback of reducing your Movement Speed drastically. We'll mitigate this Movement issue early on with The Stampede / Replica Stampede and eventually transition into Mageblood with Quicksilver Flask + Onslaught + Tailwind + Elusive Boots.

Animate Guardian Tech -

I've made Variants for the Gear on this guy and included a PoB section for it! This league we'll be using Animate Guardian once we can buy the gear for him. This skill allows us to summon a Minion that can wear gear you drop on the ground. This allows us to equip items like Garb of the Ephemeral for Crit and Slow Immunity, Kingmaker for +50% to Crit Multiplier, Glimpse of Chaos (Malediction) for the Malediction Debuff (10% More DPS, 10% Damage Reduction), and use the Companionship Support for an extra 15% Less Damage Taken!

The only drawback, is that in non-minion builds, he's typically super squishy and dies all the time which is bad since we can only summon him once per map. We can mitigate this issue with Soul Eater Stacks. Each Stack of Soul Eater grants our Minion 2% Less Damage Taken, with a max of 90% Less Damage Taken at 45 Stacks. To get Soul Eater Stacks, we'll use Transfusion Support, which grants a Soul Eater Stack when we spend 200 Life on Skill Cost. Like this -> Here

We'll also be using Meat Shield Support, Minion Life Support, and Companionship Support to give him nearly 50,000 HP and tons of Damage Reduction. Garb of the Ephemeral also grants the Divinity Buff for 25% Less Elemental Damage Taken. My Animate Guardian can stand in Uber Shaper/Elder attacks and eat them like candy, I have yet to get him killed :)

We'll spend 200 Life with the Corrupting Fever Skill, which has a 200 Life Cost at Skill Level 2 with my setup (Make sure it cost at least 200 Life or you won't give your Minion Soul Eater Stacks!).Automation will use Corrupting Fever once per second automatically. This means our Animate Guardian gets a Soul Eater Stack every second. We'll also have Convocation (Teleports our Animate Guardian to us every 2.25 Seconds) and Molten Shell (Gives Armor and massive Damage Reduction).

To mitigate the life lost from casting Corrupting Fever so often, we'll use lots of Tattoo's of the Tukohama Shaman for .3% Life Regen per Second per Tattoo and Hearty from the Passive Tree. You can also get flat life regeneration on gear or from other sources if wanted. Our Life Leech will cover us when Mapping/Bossing, the regeneration will cover us during the downtime.

This tech is brand new to me so I'll be taking any suggestions that people may have, feel free to DM me, swing by Twitch, or comment on YouTube with any tips.

Defenses -

Our Defenses revolve around Life/Armor Stacking, Leeching Life, and Capped Lucky Attack and Spell Block. We'll stack around 4.5-5K Life and 30-40K Armor thanks to our Gear, Flask, Jewels, and Passive Tree Nodes.

We use a Warstaff for the Implicit Block for Versatile Combatant to allow Over capped Attack Block to turn into Spell Block. So we'll stack tons of Attack Block by using Nodes like Enigmatic Defence, Steelwood Stance, and Whirling Barrier alongside Tattoo's of the Valako Shieldbearer to reach 65% Attack and Spell Block. Combine this with More Than Skill from the Forbidden Flesh and Forbidden Flame Jewels and you'll have a 87.75% Chance to Block Attack and Spell Damage!

Brutal Fervour from the Slayer Ascendancy will keep our Leech and Leech effects running 24/7 to mitigate small hits as long as we keep spinning. We'll also have Overlord for 24/7 Fortification, tons of PDR, Ailment Immunity with Purity of Elements, 6 Endurance Charges, 15% Less Damage Taken from Companionship Support, 10% Less Damage Taken from Malediction Debuff, and big hit mitigation with Molten Shell for a very Tanky Spin-2-Win Build!

Strengths and Weaknesses

  • 360° Huge AoE Clear and Explode
  • Smooth and Easy Bossing
  • Super Tanky Late Game, Decently Tanky otherwise
  • Very Easy League Starter
  • Immune to Phys/Ele Reflect, Crits, Slows, Ailments
  • Just Spin
  • Not Insanely Fast Movement Speed until Mageblood + Quicksilver Flask
  • Need some Currency for Uber Scaling

Build Variants

I use Splitting Steel for the first few levels until we get Sunder at Level 12/13 (Enter Merveil's Cavern) but feel free to use whatever you prefer. Ground Slam and Spectral Throw are both great options.

Use the Impaling Uulgraft for extra Chance to Impale and Impale Effect and the Molten Xophgraft for the Damage Reduction.

Remember to utilize the CRAFTING BENCH to fill one empty Affix slot on an item!

Weapon:

This is the MOST important piece of all your gear as this will drastically Increase or Decrease your DPS based on if you get the right roll.

You're going to want a Warstaff/Two-Handed Sword, Two-Handed Axe, or Two-Handed Mace with Increased Physical Damage. Other Stats to look out for are Added Damage to Attacks, Attack Speed, +1 Level of Socketed Gems, Strength, and Accuracy.

You can Craft a Two-Handed Axe/Sword/Mace by using a Vendor Recipe. You'll put a Blacksmith Whetstone + Magic/Rare Rustic Sash + Two-Handed Weapon of your choice into the Sell Tab of a Vendor and it will give you Increased Physical Damage on that Weapon!

You can also use Essences to Upgrade White Base Two-Handed Weapons you come across/buy. The Essence of Contempt will GUARANTEE Added Physical Damage to Attacks and give it some other random mods. Essences are a great way early on to gamble on decent White Bases for a upgrade to ANY gear pieces.

Body Armor:

Prioritize Max Life, Resistances, Armor, and Attributes.

Gloves:

Prioritize Max Life, Attack Speed, Resistances, Attributes, Armor, and Added Damage to Attacks.

Helmet:

Prioritize Max Life, Resistances, Armor, and Attributes.

Boots:

Prioritize Movement Speed, Max Life, Resistances, Attributes, and Armor.

Movement Speed is the most important thing to look out for if you wanna go fast!

Belt:

I like the Rustic Sash base since it gives us Increased Global Physical Damage but getting a belt in general in Early Acts is nice so anything will suffice. Go for Max Life, Max Mana, Resistances, Attributes, and Armor.

Amulet:

Any Amulet is better than no Amulet this early so wear what you get. Go for Added Damage to Attacks, Increased Armor, Max Life, Max Mana, Accuracy, Regenerate Life, and Mana Regeneration.

Rings:

Any Ring is better than no Ring this early so wear what you get. Go for Added Damage to Attacks, Max Life, Max Mana, Attack Speed, Accuracy, Regenerate Life, and Mana Regeneration.

Flasks:

This is entirely dependent on your preferences but I like to run 2 Large Life Flask , 1 Large Mana Flask, and 2 Quicksilver Flask. Feel free to use whatever you like but have at least 1 Quicksilver Flask for Movement Speed.

Passive Tree

We'll grab Master of the Arena and Bravery first for the Damage, Life, and Armor and then get Art of the Gladiator for the AS/Dex/Movement Speed. Grab Destroyer for some Damage and we'll start pathing to Spirit of War for the Reduced Mana Cost.

Here's the Skill Gems and Support Gems and How to Acquire Them. I've included Optional's for those who want to as many buttons to press as possible.

  • After killing Hillock (Tutorial Boss), take Splitting Steel as your reward.
Buy Chance to Bleed Support and Link it, remove Double Strike.
  • Look out for a 3-Link item with 2 Red & 1 Green socket
  • After Mercy Mission quest (Tidal Island Zone):
Choose Ruthless Support as your reward. Save it for Sunder. (Slot it in a socket to level it)
  • After Breaking Some Eggs quest (Mud Flats Zone), buy this gem from Nessa:
Frostblink - DO NOT LEVEL IT UP!
You can right-click its level-up icon to move it into your inventory and get it off your screen.
Blood and Sand - Optional if you have enough Mana to sustain. Toggle on and ALWAYS STAY IN BLOOD STANCE!
Once activated, you can toggle the skill to switch between the two stances.
War Banner - Optional if you want to Min-Max your Single Target Damage. Place when Valour is High and ready for DPS on Boss/Rare
  • After The Caged Brute quest, take Leap Slam as a reward and BUY the rest from Nessa:
Buy Faster Attacks Support and Link it to Leap Slam, Optionally Buy Momentum Support and Link it to Leap Slam, Buy Maim Support and Save for later (Slot it in a socket to level it), Buy Lifetap Support and Save for Later (Slot it in a socket to level it)
If you don't have enough currency to grab all of these gems at once, don't worry - just keep coming back & buying them occasionally.
  • Once you arrive in Merveil's Caverns, IMMEDIATELY grab the Waypoint and go back to town to acquire Sunder (Replace Splitting Steel with it)

How it Works

FAQ's

When to Drop Precision?

Once you get enough Accuracy on other gear pieces to have 100% Chance to Hit without the Aura

When to swap to Purity of Elements for Ailment Immunity instead of Stormshroud?

Once you can afford / level a Level 3 Enlighten Support to reduce the Reservation of our Aura's

When to swap to Animate Guardian over Autoexertion + General's Cry?

Once you can afford the gear I listed and Companionship Support for 15% DR

Why swap to Animate Guardian over Autoexertion + General's Cry?

15% DR from Companionship Support, 10% DR from Malediction Debuff, Pseudo Crit Immunity / Action Speed Slow Immunity, solid DPS increase, draws enemy Agro, and Less Mana Reservation. The old setup works fine, just think this will be better in tougher mapping

When to Swap from Non-Crit to Crit Variant?

ASAP! The Non-Crit is to solve campaign accuracy issues. Crit will drastically scale your DPS, just need to get a Crit Warstaff and remove Resolute Technique.

Is Forbidden Flesh and Flame Required?

No, but the extra 17.75% Chance to Block is really comfy, especially in tough maps. Buy them ASAP, they go up in price fast
