This build guide is designed to help you blast through the campaign as quick as possible. With this current setup I was able to complete the campaign in under 5 hours. This included all the islands on act 4 and the interludes!
I also only did 1 ascendancy to showcase that you did NOT need to run the second to maximize power of the build. I only took tailwind simply for the speed because speed is king.
Note this guide should be able to be done on all classes but this will heavily excel on characters that start on the right side of the tree!
But lets get into it!
KEEP YOUR
Whirling Slash LEVEL 1 YOU DO NOT NEED TO LEVEL IT!!!!
At level 1 once you get into town you will want to gamble or create a RARE SPEAR and QUARTERSTAFF. You will put the spear in weapon set 1 and the quarter staff in weapon set 2.
What you will be doing is the following:
Weapon set 1 -
Whirling Slash and
Twister
Weapon set 2 -
Frozen Locus
We will be using
Frozen Locus to help charge our
Whirling Slash so that our
Twister is empowered. This will be the setup we use until level 16. So your rotation from level 1 to 16 will be
Whirling Slashx3 ->
Frozen Locus ->
Twister. This will empower the twister and do an absurd amount of damage to everything around you.
One you get to the executioner in Act 1 and kill him and save the guy on the torture device. Go to town, grab your level 5 skill gem and cut
Barrage. We will be tossing
Barrage into the mix now so that we get insane boss dps and clear. So now your rotation goes
Barrage ->
Whirling Slashx3 ->
Frozen Locus ->
Twister . As far as everything else goes in act 1 just make sure you grab your spirit gem and cut yourself
Herald of Thunder
It sounds complicated I know but once you try it, it is very smooth.
Once you hit level 16 you will be able to equip
Wake of Destruction and
Skysliver this will make everything a 1000x better. Your
Whirling Slash can now be used as a movement skill and damage booster. You can now also drop
Frozen Locus. Since we are now able to use our
Whirling Slash as our movement skill we in theory will always have empowered
Twister unless you do something awkward.
From level 16 until you get to maps your entire rotation will be
Barrage ->
Whirling Slashx3 ->
Twister you will have to do nothing else and everything will die. Like I mentioned about since
Whirling Slash is our movement skill in theory all you have to do is press
Barrage ->
Twister and you will notice screen clear.
One thing to mention if you are able to cut all the support gems that
Twister will do more damage if you cast it when the support gem Salvo has 3 stacks. I showcase this in the attached video! Make sure you check it out!
Once you get more spirit I would allocate
Combat Frenzy and try to make sure you are electrocuting or freezing cause Frenzy charges just scale your damage to the moon!
Spirit Gems I would cut in order -
Herald of Thunder ->
Combat Frenzy ->
Herald of Ice
For a second weapon I would grab either a really high elemental damage rare spear for ~level 40+ or I would grab a
Tangletongue. Note if you go
Tangletongue your going to want to get the critical strike nodes earlier and
Tangletongue really shines with rings that have Flat Elemental Damage. An example would be Fire/Cold/Lighting Damage to Attacks. If you dont want to do all that grab a 300 elemental DPS spear.
I have received a handful of questions about gear changes throughout the campaign. As mentioned in the video the only pieces of gear changed were my rings at ~level 50. If your noticing your damage start to fall off there is a couple of things you can do.
1) Upgrade the runes in your weapon to the next tier of flat damage
2) Upgrade your rings to make sure they have flat damage, this includes things like
-Fire Damage to Attacks
-Cold Damage to Attacks
-Lightning Damage to Attacks
Any combination of these 3 or 2 will give you an amazing boost. You can find really cheap rings with double damage for super cheap usually.
Outside of that I mentioned above about changing the weapon to high tier of damage. Thats all you really need.
You will also notice down below there are weapon skill sets. Note you do not need to setup the weapon skill sets until later in the campaign. This will only make your life faster and easier. But if its too confusing dont worry about it. I explain this in more detail in the attached video.
But for now friends, happy campaign blasting! And if you get stuck or need help you can stop by my discord or live stream and ask questions in our POE Channels!
