PoE 2 Build

Earthshatter Speed Demon

Updated on Aug 1, 2026
Aug 1, 2026

Build Overview

Earthshatter Gemling combines several mechanics to create one of the highest-damage melee builds in Path of Exile 2. Instead of relying solely on Earthshatter, the build chains together Earthshatter spikes, Infernal Cry, Frost Wall and Verglas to create massive overlapping explosions.

For mapping, the Loreweave version focuses on speed through Herald of Ice explosions, while the Expedition version swaps to Morior Invictus and Detonate Dead to take advantage of the extremely high Life pools found in Grand Expeditions.

The result is a build with excellent clear speed, very high boss damage and enough defensive layers to comfortably handle the most difficult endgame content.

Start with inexpensive rares and prioritize Gem Quality, Energy Shield and Evasion. Use Loreweave for mapping. Mageblood is recommended for mapping thanks to permanent Jade Flask uptime and Ghost Dance synergy, while Headhunter is significantly stronger for Grand Expeditions due to the large number of Rare monsters.

How it Plays

Use Whirling Slash to quickly move between packs while maintaining Rage and positioning yourself for Earthshatter.

Cast Earthshatter to create spikes, then use Infernal Cry to detonate them. At the same time, Cast on Critical Strike continuously generates Frost Walls, which are destroyed by Infernal Cry and Earthshatter to trigger Verglas for a massive amount of added Cold Damage.

During mapping, Herald of Ice chains through packs for extremely smooth clear.

For Grand Expeditions, swap to the Detonate Dead version. Since Expedition monsters have enormous Life pools, Detonate Dead becomes another major damage source while Harbinger of Madness scales alongside it.

How it Works

Earthshatter is the core of the build, but most of the damage comes from combining several mechanics rather than simply scaling one skill.

Every Earthshatter slam creates spikes that can later be detonated with Infernal Cry, producing large overlapping explosions. At the same time, Cast on Critical continuously creates Frost Walls around enemies.

Those Frost Walls are then destroyed by Infernal Cry and Earthshatter, activating Verglas, which grants a massive amount of added Cold Damage based on the Life of the destroyed crystals. Since our Frost Walls reach around 200,000 Life, Verglas becomes one of the largest damage multipliers in the build.

Gemling's additional Gem Quality further amplifies the build by giving Earthshatter additional Aftershocks and increased spike damage, allowing every slam to scale extremely well with investment.

The build also has two different endgame variants:

  • Loreweave focuses on fast mapping through Herald of Ice chain explosions.
  • Morior Invictus replaces Herald of Ice with Detonate Dead for Grand Expeditions, taking advantage of the extremely high Life pools of Expedition monsters for even more damage.

Defensively, the build combines Chaos Inoculation, Mind over Matter, Ghost Dance, high Evasion and a large Energy Shield pool, making it surprisingly tanky despite having giga dam and speed.
