[0.5] Low/High Budget Equipment Crafting Guide

Update for 0.5 (Jun23)

• Added high budget Focus Crafting back since Transcendent Alloy (Cast Speed/Extra Cold) works on Focus again

IMPORTANT!

1. First of all this is very basic low budget crafting that can get you really good gear with 1 or few attempts, that usually will cost a lot less than buying something similar to what you crafted! (Aside of Amulet).
2. Before crafting anything, check price of finished item to find out if crafting even worth it.

There's different Staff/Wand bases that can roll one type of Increased Damage.

For example: Gelid Staff can only roll %Cold Damage, but not Lightning, Fire, Chaos or Physical, which makes crafting much more likely to hit mods you need.

List of Weapons:

• Cold: Gelid Staff
• Fire: Ashen Staff, Pyrophyte Staff, Volatile Wand
• Lightning: Voltaic Staff, Paralysing Staff, Galvanic Wand
• Chaos: Withered Wand
• Physical: Reaping Staff, Bone Wand
• All other Wand/Staff Bases can roll any Increased Damage mods.

Crafting from Rare Item (Work with any Item Type)

Simply speaking, you search good, but cheap Rare items that have empty Prefix/Suffix to add Abyss mod, slam Exalt or use Perfect Essence, to potentially get good upgrade for cheap, or resell it for profit.

Example:

1. I search Staff like this Trade Link, that has Cast Speed, Crit Chance, and 1 good Prefix.
2. Then i search for Staff that has 1 good Prefix, 2 empty Prefixes, Cast Speed, Crit Chance and any third Suffix.
3. Important that this Staff doesn't have +# to Levels, otherwise next step is impossible.
4. Then i use Perfect Essence of Sorcery which add +5 to all Spell Levels on Suffix. As long as Suffixes are filled, it will remove one of Suffixes. So in this case it's 33% Chance that it remove that 1 random Suffix and keep Cast Speed and Crit Chance.
5. Then use Preserved Jawbone and hope to get good Prefix.
6. Then i slam Greater Exalt (or Perfect Exalt if Item is super good), and pray it's not Mana :D

Wand/Staff Crafting

Low budget, from Magic Staff, +4/5 Wand bases too expensive for this

1. Obtain Magic Rarity +5-6 (Staff) Cold/Fire/Lightning/Chaos/Physical Levels, ideally 70+ ilvl (not Requirement level). Either with no Prefix, or good Prefix like %Extra Damage, %Spell Damage, %Cold/Lightning/Fire/Phys/Chaos Damage.
   Example of Search such Staff - Link
2. If you have weapon only with +5-6 Levels, using Perfect Aug has high chance to add high tier %Extra Damage, %Spell Damage, %Cold/Lightning/Fire/Phys/Chaos Damage, but also has chance to add flat Mana which is brick.
3. Then use Greater Essence of Seeking for Crit Chance for Spells
4. Now you have 3 Mod Staff, good Prefix (Extra Damage), + 5-6 Levels and Crit Chance for Spells.
5. Add Desecrated Mod with Omen of Dextral Necromancy to add Suffix, but don't reveal it yet!
6. Gamble part, now you use Greater Exalt(Perfect if rich), with Omen of Greater Exaltation.
   This will slam 2 random Prefixes, and pray its Extra Damage and Spell Damage or atleast high tier Damage Mods.
7. It's very likely you going to slam Mana, which is dead mod
8. If you slammed high tier Prefixes or landed Extra Damage + Spell Damage, totally worth using Omen of Echoes to reveal last Prefix
9. If both Prefixes you slammed are crap, reveal without Omen of Echoes

High budget Staff or Wand Crafting, from Magic Item

1. Obtain Magic Rarity Staff with +7 Levels or Wand with +5 Levels, any Prefix, use Aug if needed to get any Prefix
2. Use Greater Essence of Seeking for Crit Chance for Spells
3. Add Socket and put in Astrid's Creativity to allow 2 Crafted Modifiers
4. Use Transcendent Alloy with Omen of Sinistral Crystallisation, because apparently Alloys count as Essences and Omens for Essences work for Alloys
5. Now you have Staff with +7 Levels (Or Wand with +5 Levels), Crit Chance for Spells and Cast Speed/Extra Cold Damage with no Prefixes
6. Desecrate Prefix, use Omen of Echoes just in case, reveal Mana to Block it for next step
7. Now slam Perfect Exalt with Omen of Greater Exaltation, you basically guaranteed to hit 2 very good Prefixes. With blocked Mana, only bad mod is hybrid %Spell Damage/Mana that can only roll T1-2 that has very low weight
8. Use Omen of Light to Annul Desecrated Mana, then use Ancient Jawbone with Omen of Echoes to find 3rd good Prefix. Omen of Light if needed and repeat

Martial Weapon Crafting

Crafting from Rare Weapon (Example on 2H Mace)

Crafting from Rare Weapon is overall better option than crafting from Magic Weapon because of limitation to 1 Crafted Mod, atleast on low-ish budget

1. Obtain Rare Weapon with:
   1.1. Either high tier flat Phys Damage and high tier hybrid %Phys Damage/Accuracy and empty Prefix. Trade Link
   1.2. Or high tier %Phys Damage and high tier hybrid %Phys Damage/Accuracy and empty Prefix. Trade Link
   1.3. Then sort by DPS, find cheap ones, like 1-2 Div max, could be more depending on current economy
2. Use Preserved Jawbone, reveal with Omen of Echoes. Add Omen of the Blackblooded if you doing first option
3. Option 1.1 is slighly better because Omen of the Blackblooded grant very high chance hitting "110—154% increased Physical Damage/ 15% reduced Attack Speed" mod, which is not as good as normal %Phys because of Attack Speed penalty, but still worth it because very high chance to get it
4. Then use Perfect Essence of Battle to get +3 Levels, but make sure to fill Suffixes!

*Reason to not search %Phys Damage with flat Phys Damage and empty Prefix is that it has highest DPS compare to %Phys with Hybrid Phys or Hybrid %Phys with flat Phys on search and will have higher price

Crafting from Magic Weapon

1. Obtain Magic Rarity Weapon with good base for Weapon Type you need, with around 140-150% Phys Damage, as high as you can get, as it's not expensive.
2. Suffix doesn't really matter on Low Budget Crafting, unless you manage to find good base for cheap.
3. Use Greater Essence of Abrasion which add Flat Physical Damage.
4. Desecrate Prefix with Omen of Sinistral Necromancy.
5. Slam 2 Greater Exalts.
6. Reveal Prefix, ideally Hybrid %Phys Damage, or best option out of 3 you get.

Focus Crafting

Low Budget Crafting from Magic Focus

1. Buy Magic Focus with +2 All Spells, preferably no Prefix or Good Prefix
2. Use Perfect Aug if it has no Prefix
3. Use Greater Essence of Seeking to get Crit Chance for Spells
4. Use Preserved Rib with Omen of Dextral Necromancy, don't reveal yet!
5. Use Greater Exalted Orb with Omen of Greater Exaltation
6. Then if you hit good Prefixes like high ES, Spell Damage, any of Elemental Damage, then use Omen of Echoes to reveal Suffix, to ideally find Cast Speed or atleast Resists
7. If you hit bad Prefixes, it probably not worth using Omen of Echoes

*Reason to craft with Crit Chance Essence is because Crit Chance has lower chance to appear from Desecration than Cast Speed.

**And reason to do guaranteed Suffixes is because Prefixes have only 2 bad mods: Mana and Hybrid %ES/Mana.

High Budget Crafting from Magic Focus

This crafting is risky and not guaranteed to be profitable

1. Buy Magic Focus (preferably high level base) with +2 All Spells, no Prefix or any Prefix
2. Aug Prefix if needed, doesn't matter what you get here
3. Use Greater Essence of Seeking to get Crit Chance for Spells
4. Use Transcendent Alloy with Omen of Sinistral Crystallisation, because apparently Alloys count as Essences and Omens for Essences work for Alloys
5. Now you have Focus with +2 Levels, Crit Chance for Spells and Cast Speed/Extra Cold Damage with no Prefixes
6. IMPORTANT: Use Ancient Rib with Omen of Echoes to Desecrate Prefix, here you have few options:
   6.1. If you find Mana, choose it to block for next step where you will slam Perfect Exalt
   6.2. If you find mid-high tier Spell Damage, choose it instead because it will be worth it and more profitable than first step
   6.3. If you find high tier Lightning or Cold Damage, also can choose it over Mana
   6.4. Reroll ONLY if you found neither of those
7. If you found Mana and picked it, now you just slam Perfect Exalt with Omen of Greater Exaltation
   7.1. If you hit good Prefixes, especially Spell Damage or atleast Lightning/Cold Damage with high tier ES mod, then it likely worth using Omen of Light to remove Desecrated Mana and Desecrate second ES Mod
   7.2. If you atleast hit Spell/Lightning/Cold Damage but without good ES mod, it's not worth to use Omen of Light to remove that Desecrated Mana, but you still made profit from this
   7.3. If you didn't hit Damage mod, then it's few Divines lost
8. If you found Spell Damage or atleast Lightning/Cold Damage from Desecration, you already made profit, and you can make more if you now slam Perfect or maybe Greater Exalt with Omen of Greater Exaltation slam 2 Prefixes
9. Optional and Risky for good Focus: socket in Serle's Triumph and slam 4th Suffix with Perfect Exalt, you might hit Crit Damage, Resists, Mana Regen. Only bad mod is Attribute Requirements.

Crafting from Rare Focus

1. Snipe Rare Focus that basically has +2 All Spells with Crit Chance or Cast Speed, empty Suffix, no crafted mods and any decent Prefixes (ES or/and Spell/Elemental Damage), preferably empty Prefix and no Desecrated mod. Example of search Trade Link
2. Then use Preserved Rib with Omen of Dextral Necromancy, don't reveal yet!
3. Slam Greater Exalted Orb to fill Prefixes (With Omen of Greater Exaltation if have space)
4. If after that Focus atleast has 2 ES mods, or 1 ES mod with high tier Spell/Elemental Damage, then it's worth using Omen of Echoes to reveal last Suffix and ideally find either Cast Speed or Crit Chance for Spells, whatever you missing. Or atleast Resists or "#% chance for Spell Skills to fire 2 additional Projectiles"

*Crafting from Rare Focus can be better if you snipe good base to craft, but is more limited. While there always will be Magic Focus with +2 All Spells to buy

Energy Shield Armor

Similarly you can craft Life gear by starting with flat Life Magic Base. This is example of most basic crafting, while you can change it depending on what kind of mods you need.

Body Armor, Gloves, Helmet

1. Obtain Magic Rarity Armor with high level base (for example best ES body armor is Vile Robe), high tier flat Energy Shield and Resist.
2. Use %ES Essence.
3. Use Preserved Rib with Omen of Sinistral Necromancy to guarantee that it add Desecrated Prefix.
4. Pray to get Hybrid %ES mod, or in case with Body Armor also Spirit.
5. Use Greater Exalt with Omen of Greater Exaltation to slam 2 remaining suffixes, and pay to get Resists :D

Alternative, example with Body Armor

1. Search Body Armor, for example Vile Robe with 2 high tier ES Mods and empty Prefix, ideally hybrid %ES/flat ES with either flat ES or %ES mods.
   Example 1 with flat ES + Hybrid flat ES/%ES
   Example 2 with %ES + Hybrid flat ES/%ES
2. Desecrate Prefix and pray to reveal third ES Mod, resulting in very high ES Body
3. Slam Suffixes

Alternative option to craft ES Gloves with Attack Speed

1. Buy Magic Rarity ES Gloves with 75-80 Level Requirement with Attack Speed and flat ES or %ES.
2. Slam any of Resist Essences.
3. Desecrate Suffix with Omen of Dextral Necromancy.
4. Omen of Greater Exaltation with Perfect Exalt to slam 2 Prefixes, sometimes you will hit another ES mod, or high tier flat Damage.
5. Reveal Desecrated Mod with Omen of Echoes.

I used this way to craft Gloves upgrade for my own build, it costed me under 3 Div per attempt, took few tries to hit high ES Gloves, but before that i got few Gloves with two high tier flat Damage rolls, which sold for over 200 Div. Here's proof.

And even if it will cost me 5 Div per attempt, just from those 2 Gloves i can craft 80 more Gloves, not that it's good idea, but to understand how profitable cheap crafting is.

Boots

1. Obtain Magic Rarity Boots with good high level base, high tier Movespeed and Resist.
2. Use %ES Essence.
3. Use Preserved Rib with Omen of Sinistral Necromancy which guarantee that it add Desecrated Prefix.
4. Reveal optionally with Omen of Echoes and pray to get flat Energy Shield.
5. Use Greater Exalt with Omen of Greater Exaltation to slam 2 remaining Suffixes and pray to get Resists :D

Amulet

Unfortunately there's no really cheap way to craft if you want something good

More flexible, but only +3 Amulet:

1. Obtain Amulet with Fractured +3 All Spells, buy or make it yourself by getting 3 Mod Amulet that has +3 All Spells, add Desecrate Mod without revealing it to have 33% Chance to Fracture +3 All Spells.
2. Annul until its Fractured +3 All Spells and any Mod.
3. Chaos Spam for Spirit.
4. Then you have options depending on what kind of Amulet you trying to get:
   
   4.1. ES Amulet.
   - Add Defense Quality with Catalysts then slam Perfect Exalt with Omen of Sinistral Exaltation + Omen of Catalysing Exaltation for decent chance to hit %ES or Flat ES, can do it twice for attempt to hit both ES Mods, but it's risky because it also has good chance to hit %Armor or %Evasion.
   - Desecrate Suffix, reveal whatever you need.
   - Last suffix also will have to be slammed, so you can again use Omen of Catalysing Exaltation for whatever mod you looking for, Fire/Lightning/Cold Quality if you want one of Resists, Mana Quality if you want Mana Regen or Mana Recoup.
   
   4.2. DPS Amulet.
   - Add Caster Quality with Catalysts then slam Perfect Exalt with Omen of Sinistral Exaltation + Omen of Catalysing Exaltation for decent chance to hit %Spell Damage. Repeat with Omen of Dextral Exaltation for good chance to hit Cast Speed on Suffix.
   - Add Defense Quality with Catalysts then slam Perfect Exalt with Omen of Sinistral Exaltation + Omen of Catalysing Exaltation for decent chance to hit %ES or Flat ES.
   - Desecrate Suffix, reveal whatever you need.
   
   4.3. DPS Amulet (With Mana Recoup).
   - Add Caster Quality with Catalysts then slam Perfect Exalt with Omen of Sinistral Exaltation + Omen of Catalysing Exaltation for decent chance to hit %Spell Damage. Repeat with Omen of Dextral Exaltation for good chance to hit Cast Speed on Suffix.
   - Add Mana Quality with Catalysts then slam Perfect Exalt with Omen of Dextral Exaltation + Omen of Catalysing Exaltation for good chance to hit Mana Recoup, note that you also can hit Mana Regeneration Rate which a bit higher chance than Mana Recoup.
   - Desecrate Prefix, reveal whatever you need, in most cases it's ES Mod.
   
   4.4. Or mix of those options, again, depending on what you need.
5. If it bricks or you don't hit good mods, it likely will be cheaper to annul mods away and start over. Unless Amulet looks good enough that it sells for profit.

New method for +4 Amulet, but not much room for options

1. Obtain Amulet with Fractured +3 All Spells (or Attacks), buy or make it yourself by getting 3 Mod Amulet that has +3 All Spells, add Desecrate Mod without revealing it to have 33% Chance to Fracture +3 All Spells.
2. Use Essence of the Breach to add modifier that grant +20% to Maximum Quality.
3. Now using Catalysts (Caster or Attack) and getting over 34% will turn +3 Levels into +4 Levels.
4. After doing so, that +20% Maximum Quality modifier can be removed with Annuls and quality will stay as long as you not use different Catalyst.
5. So Annul until its +4 Levels with 1 Mod and Chaos spam until Spirit.
6. Next use Omen of Dextral + Greater Exaltation to slam 2 Suffixes with Greater Exalt, those will be used to sacrifice to get Prefixes.
7. Now use Omen of Dextral Crystallisation with Perfect Essence of Enhancement which will remove one of Suffixes and add 20-30% Increased Armor/Evasion/ES.
8. Use Omen of the Blackblooded with Omen of Sinistral Necromancy and use Preserved Collarbone, don't forged Omen of Echoes, and reveal %ES from Body Armor mod, if you happen to reveal high tier %ES Mod, check in PoB, it might possibly grant more ES.
9. Now you have 3 Prefixes: Spirit, 20-30% ES and %ES from Body Armor.
10. After that you can use Greater/Perfect Chaos Orbs with Omen of Dextral Erasure to reroll 2 Suffixes with no risk, probably until Cast Speed since you have Caster Quality.
    

Ring/Belt

Basic Caster Ring with Mana + Triple Res.

Currently probably not worth it because Breach crafting is much cheaper, or straight up buying.

1. Start with Magic Ring that has flat Mana + Resist.
2. Any Resist Essence.
3. Add quality with Catalysts you need Resist for.
4. Greater Exalt with Omens of Greater + Catalyzing + Dextral Exaltation, so for example with Fire Quality it will grant higher chance hitting Fire Resist + All Elemental Resists since it has Fire tag as well.
5. Add Abyss modifier which will be Prefix, use Omen of Echoes.
6. Either just slam Exalt, or add Quality with Catalysts and use Omen of Catalyzing Exaltation, can be Life Quality to get flat Life, Elemental Quality to hit Elemental Damage Increase or added flat Damage to attacks, or Chaos Quality for Increased Chaos Damage.

Belt can be crafted same way as above, minus part with Mana Essence and quality.

Tenebrous Ring (If you looking for super high Resist Ring)

1. Process is simple but very expensive, get Tenebrous Ring, annul until no mods, or until only good mods remain.
2. Optionally you can buy Tenebrous Ring with 1 high resist and attempt Fracturing it.
3. Lightning Catalysts - slam Greater/Prefect Exalt with Omen of Dextral Exaltation + Omen of Catalysing Exaltation, this increase chances of hitting Lightning Resist
4. Repeat 3rd step for Fire and Cold Resists or whatever you missing.
   For All Elemental Resists Mod any Elemental Catalyst work, either Fire, Cold or Lightning.
5. If you manage to get 4 Resist mods, you add Desecrated Suffix and reveal another Resist mod.
6. Then Repeat 3rd step again for whatever you need on that one Prefix, with Mana, Life or Elemental Catalysts if you looking for %Ele or flat Ele Damage, Mana or Life.
7. If you don't hit Resists, then have to YOLO Annul, unless mod you slammed is decent to sell that ring and start over.

Jewels

Cheap Jewel crafting (Extremely simple)

1. Search Jewels with 2-3 good Mods, for example Crit Mod + Mana on Kill + Faster ES Recharge + any Prefix
2. Use Diluted Liquid Ire that has 50% chance to replace that random Prefix with %ES mod making that Jewel a lot more valuable
3. There's a lot of simple crafts like that, but most valuable will be either with Spell Crit, ES, Mana on Kill, and usually on Sapphire

Endgame GIGA Jewel crafting on example of Caster/Crit Jewel

1. Obtain Rare Jewel with 2 Good Suffixes, for Casters it's usually Crit Damage/Crit Spell Damage, maybe Crit Chance. Exactly 1 Prefix, important!
2. Next is using Potent Liquid Contempt that can either add Prefix that says "+1 Suffix Allowed", or add Suffix saying "+1 Prefix Allowed", so it's 50/50. In this case we want for it to remove Prefix and add "+1 Suffix Allowed"
3. On Success, you Desecrate 3rd Suffix with Omen of Dextral Necromancy, and reveal your third Suffix, in this case Crit Mod
4. Next you use Annulment Orb with Omen of Sinistral Annulment, this will remove that "+1 Suffix Allowed" Prefix mod, while keeping that 3rd Suffix you have
5. Now you just slam 2 Exalts to fill Prefixes, important!
6. Now you can simply spam Chaos Orbs to roll 2 good Prefix, in this case Chaos Orb cannot remove/add Suffix, because when Chaos Orb try to remove Suffix, Jewel still has 2 Suffixes and it can't add 3rd Suffix back because normally Jewels don't have 3 Suffixes
7. Once you rolled 2 good Prefixes, use Potent Liquid Ferocity, and again because Jewel has 3 Suffixes, this cannot target Suffix and guaranteed to remove one of Prefixes and add "40-60% Increased Effect of Suffixes"
8. Add Caster Quality
