Build Overview

Tame the Mighty Silverfist (or Zekoa, the Headcrusher - map version) and let it unleash all its might!

This build primarily utilizes Companions to deal damage, but because we inherit Companion damage as player damage, our own attacks contribute significantly as well.

Defensively, many mechanics are utilized. Wolf Pack and Pounce create lots of minions to block monsters from getting to you. We utiilize a high health pool with strong Life Leech, a large portion of damage goes to Mana which is recovered with Mana Leech and Mana on Kill (Jewels). 15% of damage taken is redirected to the Bear Companion. Evasion is sacrificed for this high Life and Mana pool, but we convert it into Armour with Iron Reflexes and get 1000 free Armour and Armor applies to Elemental damage by primarily being in Bear Form -- this takes care of mitigating all small and medium damage hits.

This build can be played once you obtain the Tame Beast gem (tier 7 gem). Before that, you should consider playing Twister or Talisman based builds.

*NEW* Forgotten Warden variant! This is what I'm currently playing. Less active playstyle, but tankier and you get to build your own Druid minion!

Strengths and Weaknesses

  • Powerful all around build
  • Big monkee smash
  • Playable from Act 2 campaign
  • Finding a boss to tame with good modifieres is VERY difficult
  • Expensive annoint required (Talisman version)

Gear pieces can be either Armour or Evasion (or both), but because we gain 150% of Strength requirements from Helm/Gloves/Boots as extra Armour from the Heavy Armour passive, pure Armour is slightly prefered in these slots.

You will want to convert all your items to grant Runic Ward.

The Starkonja helmet is also a very good helmet choice, but I would only use it if it was corrupted for +1 Minion Skill Gems.

You will need a non Talisman based weapon swap in order to cast Pain Offering. You will want to use a Scepter with whatever you choose so that you keep your resistance aura and buffs. I prefer a Shield as I can also use Shield Charge, but there is a lot of flexibility here.

You will want to have your Tame Beast active only on one weapon set so that you can double weapon swap to reposition it ontop of your character occasionally.

The ideal Tame Beast boss is Zekoa, the Headcrusher from Riverside and Rupture endgame map zones. In order to give the boss affixes you will need to use up to 3 of Cruel Hegemony Unique Tablets (max 1) and/or Precursor Tablets with the affix "Unique Monsters Have 1 Additional Rare Modifier" specifically on the maps that contain the Headcrusher. It is difficult to say which affixes are best, but aim for any 3 that increase damage. You will not have endless attempts to obtain better affixes, so just use the best you find.

There are a few gem slots open, so feel free to experiment with extra skills. You will also want to socket a few extra green support gems in order to activate the movement speed bonus from using 10 of them from the Gem Enthusiast passive.

If you get a high Spirit roll on your Sceptre you can also use War Banner to boost your damage and attack speed further (also applies to nearby Companions).

If you obtain a Beast with multiple bonus elemental damage, you can try using Elemental Weakness and Frost Bomb for a large resistance debuff.

Mark of Siphoning Support can be used on Pounce if you don't have life leech and mana leech on gear.

How it Plays

Jump into action with Pounce and Maul. Try to stay in the fight to gain Rage and Life Leech, so that your minions will also gain Rage and Life Leech from you.

Use Pain Offering for a damage boost against difficult monsters.
