Vaal Currency Items

In Path of Exile 2 Fate of the Vaal league, players can acquire brand new Vaal Currency items that function in either brand new ways, or familiar, but slightly different ways. These Currency items are acquired by upgrading and completing different rooms in the Vaal Temple

Many of the following Vaal Currency items can be obtained by upgrading various rooms in the Vaal Temple to Tier 3, or by opening Chests in the Royal Trove reward room after defeating Atziri. Some of these Currency items appear as small altars which allow for use of the Currency item immediately, but give the option to convert its effect into a tradeable, itemised Currency Orb.

Ancient Infuser

Modifies a Precursor Tablet unpredictably.

The following outcomes can occur:

• Destroys the Precursor Tablet
• Adds an additional Tablet modifier, above the normal limit
• Adds up to 10 additional uses
• Transforms the Tablet into a new type and rerolls its modifiers

Location

Ancient Infusers can be found in the Tablets Vault room at the Corrupted Precursor Machine

Architect's Orb

Modifies a Corrupted Equipment or Jewel Item, unpredictably, or destroys it

The following outcomes can occur with a 50% chance of either:

• Destroys the item
• Adds a second corrupted Enchantment, similar to outcomes from a Vaal Orb

Location

Architect's Orbs can be located in Locus of Corruption (Tier 3 Corruption Chamber) from the Corruption Instiller.

Core Destabiliser

Modifies a Soul Core unpredictably, with a chance to destroy it.

The following outcomes can occur:

• Destroy the Soul Core
• Duplicate the Soul Core
• Convert the Soul Core into another Soul Core of a similar tier
• Convert the Soul Core into an Ancient Soul Core

Four different Ancient Soul Cores exist in Path of Exile 2 with special effects

Location

Core Destabilisers can be found in the Grand Phylactory (Tier 3 Alchemy Lab) at the Soul Core Infuser

Crystallised Corruption

Modifies a Corrupted Skill Gem unpredictably or destroys it.

The following outcomes can occur:

• Destroys the Skill Gem
• Increases or Decreases the Gem's Level
• Adds or Removes Quality

Location

Crystallised Corruption can be located in the Thaumaturge's Cathedral (Thaumaturge Room Tier 3) at the Gem Corrupter.

Orb of Extraction

Destroys and Equipment Item, returning any Augments Socketed in it.

The Orb of Extraction is used to retrieve any socketed Augments (including Soul Cores and Augments, previously known as Runes) at the expense of destroying the item in the process

Location

Orb of Extraction can be located in the Extraction Chamber at the Extraction Workbench

Vaal Cultivation Orb

Replaces up to 2 modifiers on a Corrupted Vaal Unique. Replaces other Uniques with a Corrupted Unique of the same Item class

Function (Vaal Unique)

• When used on a Corrupted Vaal Unique item, the Vaal Cultivation Orb has a chance to replace either one or two of its modifiers with special Vaal Cultivation modifiers.
• Vaal Unique items can be identified from the special icon seen on their nameplate that doesn't appear on ordinary Unique items
• Some items have certain modifiers that cannot be changed when using a Vaal Cultivation Orb

Function (Non-Vaal Unique)

When used on a non-Vaal Unique Item, the Vaal Cultivation Orb will instead convert it into a Corrupted version of a Unique item of the same item class. For example, using this on a Meginord's Girdle could convert it into another Unique Belt, such as Headhunter
