Pin, or being Pinned, is a crowd-control Debuff in Path of Exile 2.

Pin, or being Pinned, is a crowd-control Debuff in Path of Exile 2.

Pinned is a Debuff that prevents a target's Movement and also makes them unaffected by any incoming Knockback. Whilst a target is Pinned, they also cannot Evade any incoming Hits, rendering their Evasion Rating useless and ignoring the Hit check calculation in regards to Accuracy Rating for any incoming Attack Hits.
Note: Pin is not a type of Slow and is unaffected by modifiers to Slow Magnitude. Pin is also not an Ailment, and is not affected by any modifiers to Ailment Magnitude or Duration.
When a target is Pinned, they'll receive a Light Stun, briefly interrupting any current Action(s) they're performing.
Note: A target that is Pinned is also considered to be Immobilised.
Pin cannot be inflicted by default and instead needs to be enabled by a modifier on a Skill, Support Gem, gear piece or otherwise. For example
Artillery Ballista fires Pinning bolts, meaning that all Damage dealt by the bolts fired from this Totem will Buildup Pin on targets they Hit and deal Damage to.
Note: Pin is not tied to a particular Damage type by default, but some modifiers will only enable Pin Buildup from specific Damage types, such as
Bushwhack.
When a modifier states that Damage 'is Pinning', any Hit Damage of those types will cause Pin Buildup on targets.
The Pinned Debuff has a 4 second Duration by default. Modifiers that slow the expiry rate of effects on targets, such as
Temporal Chains, can be used to artificially boost the Duration of Pinned.
A Monster will be Primed for Pin upon reaching a percentage of Pin Buildup, based on their Monster Rarity.
A target that is Primed can be immediately Pinned by a Hit that allows Pinning of a Primed for Pin target.
The Tactician Ascendancy for the Mercenary Class has a 4-point branch dedicated to utilising and improving Pin.
Suppressing Fire will improve Buildup of all Immobilisation effects including Pin. Meanwhile the second Notable in the branch,
Right Where We Want Them, essentially transforms Pin you inflict into a pseudo-Freeze, preventing Pinned targets from performing any Actions, including Attacking or casting Spells. It also makes all Damage from your Projectiles cause Pin Buildup.
The Bone Shrapnel Support Gem causes linked Skills to trigger an explosion when they kill a Pinned target, dealing Physical Damage based on their maximum Life.
The
Combat Frenzy Persistent Buff will grant a Frenzy charge upon Pinning a target whilst it's active.
