Monster Power is a numerical stat tied to Monsters in Path of Exile 2.

Power is a number that's attached to each Monster based on a number of factors such as their basic difficulty level and their Monster rarity. The Power of a Monster does not inherently have any impact, but many Skills and other mechanics interact directly with the Power of Monsters, such as most Trigger Skills like
Cast on Freeze or
Cast on Critical.
Monsters that are generally more difficult, for example larger Monsters with much more base Life or Monsters with additional specialised mechanics such as Prowling Shades, will have a higher base Power relative to weaker Monsters. The majority of Monsters encountered will have 1 base Power, but weak Monsters may have as little as 0.5 base Power or less, whilst much stronger than average Monsters may have up to 3 base Power.
Each Monster has an associated Power based on their difficulty. This number is multiplied against another number based on their Monster rarity to determine their final Monster Power.
Monster Rarity | Power Multiplier |
Normal (White) | 1 |
Magic (Blue) | 2 |
Rare (Yellow) | 5 |
For example if a Rare Monster had 2 base Power, they'd have a final Monster Power of 10.
Notably, Unique Boss Monsters always have 20 Monster Power.
Various Skills and mechanics utilise Monster Power to cause or empower an effect. For example, many Meta Trigger Gems such as
Cast on Ignite will interact with the Monster Power of the affected target(s) to generate an amount of Energy. Some Warcry Skills also make use of Monster Power to scale their effects, for example
Infernal Cry will cause subsequent Empowered Attacks to Gain Extra Damage as Fire Damage, Empowering one Attack per 10 Monster Power on targets within the Warcry area of effect.
Additionally, both Flask and Charm charges gained from killing Monsters utilise Monster Power to determine exactly how many charges are gained.
The Unique Shield
Redblade Banner has the special modifier 'Enemies in your Presence count as having double Power'. This modifier will act as a multiplier to the Monster Power of all Monsters in your Presence area, allowing you to scale Monster Power interactions.
