Overview

Mageblood is an extremely powerful new Unique Belt in Path of Exile 2.

Basic Mechanics

What is Mageblood?

Mageblood is an iconic Unique Belt from Path of Exile 1 which has been introduced into Path of Exile 2 in patch 0.5, largely keeping the theme of the original design.

Mageblood randomly rolls 4 Mage's Legacy Effects

This Unique will randomly roll Mage's Legacy Buffs from a list of Effects which Path of Exile 1 players may recognise by name, as these are the names of Utility Flasks from the original game and they apply similar Buffs. The allocation of Mage's Legacy Buffs granted by Mageblood can be rerolled using a Divine Orb, but note that this will also reroll the other variable modifiers on the item, such as the 'All Mage's Legacies have (25—50)% increased effect per duplicate Mage's Legacy you have'.

Mage's Legacy Buffs

Mageblood will grant the character permanent Buffs while they continue to keep the item equipped.

The Legacy of Quicksilver Buff

For example, the Legacy of Quicksilver grants '30% increased Movement Speed' all of the time, as long as the Belt remains equipped. However, there are a large list of Mage's Legacy Buffs that this item can choose to roll, so obtaining the Buffs that you seek may not be easy (or may end up being very expensive).

There are 14 possible outcomes for each Mage's Legacy roll

List of Mage's Legacy Buff Effects

  • Amethyst: +45% to Chaos Resistance
  • Basalt: 150% increased Armour
  • Stibnite: 150% increased Evasion Rating
  • Bismuth: +45% to all Elemental Resistances
  • Diamond: 75% increased Critical Hit Chance
  • Gold: 45% increased Rarity of Items found
  • Granite: +2000 to Armour
  • Jade: +2000 to Evasion Rating
  • Quicksilver: 30% increased Movement Speed
  • Ruby: +60% to Fire Resistance, +5% to Maximum Fire Resistance
  • Sapphire: +60% to Cold Resistance, +5% to Maximum Cold Resistance
  • Topaz: +60% to Lightning Resistance, +5% to Maximum Lightning Resistance
  • Silver: 30% increased Skill Speed
  • Sulphur: 60% increased Damage, Consecrated Ground while stationary

Duplicate Buffs & Increased Effect

Mageblood will provide even more bonuses from the Buffs it grants if you equip one that rolled duplicate Mage's Legacy Buffs. Note that the same Buff can only apply its bonuses once, but for each duplicate Buff granted you'll gain a multiplier on all Buffs granted by the Belt from the modifier 'All Mage's Legacies have (25—50)% increased effect per duplicate Mage's Legacy you have'.

For example the Mageblood shown below has a duplicate Legacy of Silver Buff and it provides '46% increased effect per duplicate Mage's Legacy you have'.

Mageblood with a duplicate Legacy of Silver Buff

The Legacy of Silver Buff will only be applied to the character once, but because the Belt has a duplicate Mage's Legacy Buff, all Buffs granted will have their Effects increased by 46%.

The character will therefore receive the following Buff Effects from having this Belt equipped:

  • 43% increased Movement Speed
  • 219% increased Armour
  • 43% increased Skill Speed
