Build Overview

Not a finished guide, I'm still tuning in game before making a final build guide. Here's my current character, with some mechanic explanation, and details on gears, gems, tree...

Core concept:

Wolf Pack with Infernal Legion III die, triggering Cast on Minion Death, triggering Spark and Thunderstorm every time, which then crit and trigger Lightning Bolt from Choir of the Storm, which crit and trigger Mana Flare, which crit and trigger Lightning Bolt again... to create a trigger loop that can goes forever.

We stack a lot of cooldown recovery rate (CDR) in this build. The threshold (I tested a bunch, but this might still be incorrect) is 151% cdr or higher, which bring Lightning Bolt cooldown from 0.5s to below 0.2s, and can infinitely loop itself with Mana Flare without the need of the billionaire item Temporalis

FYI, I think the best class for this build will be Blood Mage, as it can have roughly same dmg, while a lot more EHP pool, since we don't need to use The Covenant armor, and can actually use a rare ES chest with like 1k+ ES, easily bring us to 10k+, even 12-15k es is very much within range.

Strengths and Weaknesses

  • NO Temporalis, yay us peasants!
  • Laziest playstyle - 0 button is possible
  • Pretty good dmg, I think can be insane dmg with more money investment
  • Comfy EHP and good recovery with OP ES Leech from Soul Tether
  • Require some specific items that can be price fixed
  • Movement = walking with 2 happy feet

Build Variants

For leveling, I'd recommend basic Plant Watering, just very very basic plants and watering. Switching to this build early may require u to buy multiple versions of different levels for Choir of the Storm, depend on your character level. If you don't know how to Water your plants, google "Goratha Plants Disciple of Varashta" xD

- Soul Tether need to be cultivated, removing the 5% es lost per second, keeping the ES Leech mod, and also not having cultivated lose 5% life per second. Trade seach link: https://www.pathofexile.com/trade2/search/poe2/Fate%20of%20the%20Vaal/mkKYJQOJS6

Grip of Kulemak: The only mandatory stat is cdr for you and allies, but there're many good stats we can get like %es, % crit chance, dmg as extra, triggered spell dmg, shock magnitude... etc. The best mods are Crit chance, ES. There's also the onslaught on minion death mod which can give perma Onslaught while mapping. Here's a link to look for really good ones (4 mods) for this build:

4 mods Grip of Kulemak trade link

Also Grip of Kulemak, but 3 mods only (super cheap, only few ex atm):

Time-Lost Emerald is also super important for this build. It can roll up to 3% cdr for each notable allocated in radius. Mandatory for the build. Sadly there's no cheap and deterministic way to craft this item with 2 mods we need - cdr on notable and Upgrade to Large. I'd even recommend freakin chaos spam. Buying a fractured base of 1 out of the 2 needed mod and chaos spam for the other one should be the way to do it. Other mods that's good on this jewel is very very limited, like lightning dmg, ele dmg, shock magnitude, movespeed are probably the only good mods, as all the other mods are attack related.

Effigy of Cruelty which gives max Critical Weakness for 10% base crit, is insanely good as Disciple of Varashta. for Blood Mage I'll need to test myself first, but maybe Rathpith Globe is better. Try to look for 2 socket at least, 3 socket would be insane as we need to put Owl Idol in the Focus for cdr

The Covenant can be regular version. The 100% life cost mod is useless, ideally should be removed, but it's ok to use. I'm using 1 with that mod anyway.

Rare armor items looks for high ES and resists

Rare weapon, look for Level of all lightning spell, or of all spell, crit chance for spells, crit dmg for spells, increased spell dmg, dmg as extra... As Disciple of Varashta, use a staff. As Blood Mage, get a wand. I believe Blood Mage is better end game, so I'll reroll eventually.

My current staff is bad base, I'll try to farm/craft/flip and upgrade to roughly same staff but as Chiming Staff base for Sigil of Power, which is an INSANE amount of dmg

As I don't have a lot of energy gain for Cast on Critical, using Thrashing Vines is good as we just proc once and it last for a long duration for some more dmg. Archmage can also be used instead of Coc, to add ~40%+ extra lightning to our build, depending on your mana. I do prefer the Coc setup after playing with it for a bit.

There's a Time-Lost Emerald jewel on the jewel slot near Chaos Inoculation keystone, which explain why I take so many Notable passive around that area. Each notable give me 3% cdr because of the jewel
