Titan is one of the best ascendancies for running Path of Exiles 2 New Shapeshifting Forms!
This guide will go over how I handled the campaign and my early progression in to maps up to tier 13!
Note this guide is a work in progress and will be updates as I update the character!
Why We Choose Titan
In the latest Path of Exile 2 update Rise of the Druid we were introduced with a wide variety of Talismans. These items allowed us to transform into 1 of 3 forms - Wyvern , Werewolf and Bear. With this came a whole bunch of new nodes on the atlas tree!
Each one of these nodes are infinitely more powerful then majority of the other nodes on the tree. Because of this adding and extra 50% effect to each of these nodes from
Hulking Form makes these nodes just as strong as any notable on the tree! Because of this
Titan becomes a monster!
We also get the ability to get a bunch of free life from
Mysterious Lineage and since were going Werewolf and
Shred is one of our main damage dealers having
Crushing Impacts will give us a bunch of more damage!
How To Level Titan
As you can see in the attached video I did my entire campaign run as Werewolf. This form on Titan is insanely strong! Before we even ascend
Titan starts with a handful of nodes that give you a massive amount of damage! Your first 5 nodes on the passive tree just award you with over 50% increased Melee damage and since all of our skills are melee we just get to slap!
Right out of the gate as soon as you get to town buy or gamble yourself any Talisman. We are going to need this to shapeshift into a werewolf. Once you get a talisman set your auto attack to
Shred and cut yourself
Lunar Assault. This will be your entire bread and butter throughout the campaign!
Essentially what you will do is go into a pack
Lunar Assault to freeze everything then finish it off with
Shred. Majority of the time if you keep up with your weapon
Lunar Assault will be able to just clean up packs no problem!
As you progress through the campaign the next skill you are going to want to unlock is
Pounce. This will allow you to have one of the best / newest movement skills in the game allowing you to move around each zone with ease and engage in each pack. Thankfull we get
Pounce very early in our playthrough and can start using this right away.
As you go through Act 1 you are just going to be focusing on
Lunar Assault and
Shred as your main damage dealer and
Pounce to go pack to pack. I see a lot of people using
Arctic Howl as a way to help freeze enemies quicker. While this is a good skill and I used this for a bit I eventually just opted away from it as I didnt want to press more buttons. It can help a lot in act 1 and it is something you should experiment with. Overall though it wasnt for me.
For Act 1 as well since we will be unlocking a spirit gem I opted for
Savage Fury instead of
Herald of Ice because the MORE DAMAGE multiplier from it was insanely better. There is the downside that it drains some life but this is so minimal that your health flask covers this nicely.
The gameplay loop in act 1 goes as follows:
Pounce ->
Lunar Assault ->
Arctic Howl to freeze ->
Savage Fury ->
Shred
Essentially we just used the
Arctic Howl to enable our freeze quicker.
What to do in Act 2 and on
Once you get into Act 2 and start to make some progress you will notice things will start to pickup right away.
One of the main things you want to do every handful of levels or atleast every Act is upgrade you weapon. In the campaign we are looking for the hardest / highest dps talismans we can find. Eventually post campaign we will focus on making a big physical weapon but for now DPS is king.
If you can along side a huge dps weapon you want to find +melee skills wherever possible. You can get this on you weapon , gloves or amulet. This will help you out a ton and give you a substantial amount of damage.
Also as you begin to level up and move into Act 2 you will start to unlock new skills. One of those being
Cross Slash. This skill is an ABSOLUTE MONSTER! It allows you to get an insane amount of DPS on your character and you just actually explode any rare.
With
Cross Slash unlocked your combo becomes this
Pounce ->
Lunar Assault ->
Arctic Howl to freeze ->
Savage Fury ->
Shred ->
Cross Slash
Essentially what happens is once you freeze an enemy and hit it with
Shred you will create ice crystals that will explode.
Cross Slash pulls all those ice crystals on to your target and just explodes them for massive damage!
Once you begin moving on and unlock more spirit in the campaign feel free to pick up
Herald of Ice and later on in the campaign grab
Overwhelming Presence. We wont be grabbing
Eternal Rage until maps and we are cruising with extra spirit gear.
For me personally I didnt start really using
Lunar Blessing until I had a good source of rage generation and that was in maps. So my entire campaign was just the combo above.
MAPS! NOW WHAT?
So you have managed to make it to maps and your confused. What do I do, how do I progress. Well this is the weird and tricky part. A lot of the new stuff is still unexplored and this will be an ever evolving section until we figure it out.
For damage we are going to be utilizing Titan as mentioned above for the increase in 50% small passive nodes and we will be scaling our AOE and Melee Damage to the moon.
For defenses we will eventually be scaling armor, energy shield and life to get us to a stage were armor covers all of our elemental issues. Chaos resist covers our chaos , energy shield and life keep us alive. Its going to be a tall order but we will get there.
Shapeshifting skills will hit like a truck and you will feel the power but you will also be squishy until gear. Remember this is a setup to get us through the campaign and get us to the start of tier 13+ maps! Eventually the goal will be to hit multiple screens, have huge herald explosions, devolve into a 1-2 button gameplay loop and be "tanky". "Tanky" by how tanky we can be without fully abusing
Chaos Inoculation and Energy shield by going Red Energy Shield (This is a joke that were life based, your supposed to laugh here)
Just keep focusing on upgrading your weapon, keep capping your resistances. Eventually cap your chaos resistance and if you managed to do the gem setup below and passive points. Well from there your going to go into more Energy shield and Armor nodes. (Yes this will be updated I can only update is as far as I have gotten and tested).
How To Do My Gems and In What Order For The Campaign!
In Order of gems + supports (if a version is labeled as 2 start with 1 until you can get to 2. If labeled 3 do the same thing) NOTE IF A GEM IS NOT LABELED 3 IT IS FOR A REASON. DONT JUST XDD GET THE LVL 3 VARIANT AND WONDER WHY IT DOESNT WORK:
ONCE YOU FINISH THE CAMPAIGN SWAP TO THE GEM SETUP BELOW
Shred -> Rapid Attacks II -> Close Combat II -> Rage II (We use Rage so that we can use
Lunar Blessing until rage nodes)
Lunar Assault -> Deep Freeze -> Elemental Armament II
Pounce ->
Freezing Mark -> Ice Bite II
Savage Fury -> Prolonged Duration II
Cross Slash -> Elemental Armament II -> Cold Attunement
Herald of Ice -> Magnified Area II
Arctic Howl
Overwhelming Presence
Lunar Blessing -> Second Wind II
This above setup ^ is the same setup featured in the youtube video attached on how I finished the campaign. Once you get extra skill gems and sockets and all that jazz you can copy whats down below. IF YOU ARE READING THIS POST LEAGUE START ERA AND HAVE ALL THE GEMS AND SUPPORTS AND STUFF JUST SKIP TO DOWN BELOW!
