Concept
I wanted to find a way to utilize both Companions with the new
Spirit Walker Ascendancy, as well as
Twister to create a fun Hybrid build that doesn't have you just sitting back while Companions do all the work. It took a good amount of time to figure it all out, as this is my first attempt at a build in POE 2, but I have finally gotten to a place where I like the direction the build is heading.
Twister paired with
Barrage &
Ice-Tipped Arrows carries you through the entirety of the Campaign, and then around Act 4/Interludes, when you get your 2nd set of Ascendancy points, you can begin to bring in the Companion aspect of the Build, since
Spirit Walker has so many options for Companions, including
The Natural Order where you can capture and summon a single Boss.
Once you get your 4th set of Ascendancy points, the build explodes in endgame. Adding in
Primal Bounty allows you to really take advantage of Projectile Acceleration III and when adding in the
The Taming ring +
Harness the Elements, your damage takes off.
If you have any suggestions or ideas to add to the build, please hop on over to my Twitch and let me know what you have! This is my first build in POE 2 and I've been learning a lot about the game for it, so be sure to let me know your thoughts!
Companions
- The Boss you want for this is the Mighty Silverfist, start with the one from Jungle Ruins in Act 3, and then try to capture another one later on down the line in Maps.
- You will get the
Wild Protector from the Ascendancy Tree, and eventually
Azmerian Wolf &
Spirit Vessel as well from the Uniques, with which you will need a low level Talisman to make Spirit Vessel work, but you just need it to grab skill gems (You can get one from Act 1). - For the remaining Companions, make sure to get one with Haste Aura, and then things like Trail of Lightning or Fire, Invulnerability, and whatever else you'd like. Haste Aura is most important though. I grabbed them from maps, or from the Troubled Camp in the Infested Barrens in Act 3.
Leveling
You will want want a Spear in your main hand for all of the attacks, and then later down the line, you will want a Sceptre with Malice until you can either find or buy the
Sylvan's Effigy.
Focus on upgrading your Spear as much as possible. High % Increase to Physical Damage is vital on it, and if you can find one with + Projectile skills as well, that will carry you nicely. I managed to get a
Tangletongue quite early on, and it carried me from around Level 20, all the way to Act 4, so if you want to go that route, that is a great choice too. % Physical Damage increase is the best for damage though. Attack speed is also a great one to have.
For the Sceptre, you want to have Allies in your Presence deal % Increased Damage and % Increased Spirit on the Sceptre. Attribute Requirements isn't awful either, but if you find a + to minion skills, that is also fantastic until you grab the
Sylvan's Effigy.
Attributes
This build mainly utilizes Dexterity and Intelligence, but because Spears do require a bit of Strength as well, it would be a good idea to splash in Strength when needed, but mostly focus on Dexterity early, then start going Intelligence once you add the sceptre in. Eventually you will be grabbing the
Proficiency node, which will give +25 Dex, allowing you to spec more Intelligence points for upgrading your Sceptre. But since we don't need anything crazy out of the Sceptre aside from buffing companions, don't worry too much about what level it is if you can't squeeze any more Intelligence into the build.
Since we are doing a mixture of Eva/ES for Defenses, we are good on attributes in that part, but we do really want to favor Evasion if you need to make a choice, since it pairs better with Dexterity.
If you need to path outside of the Tree for some extra nodes for gear/skills, then do so, they can always be respec'd later.
