Build Overview

Build Overview

This is easily one of the smoothest league starters I've played.

The build revolves around spawning plants with Entangle and Thrashing Vines, then overgrowing them to massively increase their damage and trigger Accelerated Growth II explosions.

During leveling you'll manually manage your plants and water them with Thunderstorm. Once the build comes online however, gameplay becomes dramatically smoother.

Using Nature's Archon, we automate most of the overgrowth process and turn the build into an almost one-button playstyle where Entangle handles nearly everything by itself.

The result is a build with excellent clear, surprisingly strong boss damage and very low gear requirements. I pushed comfortably into T15 maps on only a few divines while still running mostly mediocre gear.

Fast mapping, smooth progression and giant physical dongs exploding out of the ground.

Just Lovely.

Strengths and Weaknesses

  • Extremely smooth league starter
  • Minimal button gameplay
  • Low gear requirements
  • Mana = bottleneck early
  • Requires occasional weapon swapping for optimal play

Build Variants

Once you obtain the crafted mod:

Chance to obtain Nature's Archon when your plants overflow

the build becomes dramatically smoother.

You can activate Archon on one weapon set, swap back, and retain the buff while continuing to map normally.

During Archon uptime, your plants instantly overgrow and explode automatically, reducing gameplay to mostly holding Entangle.

Equipment Priority

Defensively, our priorities are simple:

  • Maximum Life
  • Energy Shield
  • Resistances

Once those are solved, start looking for the more interesting scaling options.

The biggest upgrade is getting the crafted mod:

Chance to obtain Nature's Archon when your plants overflow

This is what enables the entire smooth endgame loop. Trigger Archon, swap back if desired, and keep blasting while maintaining the buff.

For weapons, don't stress too much about raw weapon power early. Archon carries a huge amount of the build.

For body armour, Deathrattle is fantastic and extremely cheap. It allows us to keep Energy Shield recharge active while mapping and massively improves survivability.

Boots:

  • Movement Speed
  • Energy Shield
  • Resistances

Belt:

  • Spell Damage during Flask Effect
  • Cast Speed during Flask Effect
  • Energy Shield
  • Archon Duration if possible

Gloves:
Nightscale solves a massive portion of the build's mana issues and feels incredible once equipped.

Rings:

  • Mana
  • Mana Regeneration
  • Spell Damage
  • Cast Speed
  • Resistances
  • Item Rarity

Amulet:

  • Spell Skill Levels
  • Spirit
  • Defence
  • Damage
  • Rarity

For runes, prioritize:

  • Spell Ranks
  • Archon Cooldown
  • Energy Shield Recharge

Everything else can simply be used to solve Energy Shield and resistances.

Skills

Entangle is our main button and where most of our damage comes from. We scale its explosions through Accelerated Growth II and eventually turn it into an almost one-button playstyle.

Thrashing Vines acts as our secondary plant source and becomes automated later to smooth out gameplay and reduce casting.

Thunderstorm exists almost entirely to overgrow our plants. During leveling you'll use it constantly, but once Nature's Archon uptime improves you'll press it far less.

Pounce is used for mobility and early armour break application while progressing.

Elemental Weakness is reserved mainly for bosses, lowering resistances while also helping us gain additional skill speed.

Mana Remnants is an optional late-game addition once gear allows for the extra Spirit investment.

The overall goal is simple:

Spawn plants → Overgrow → Explode → Repeat.

Passive Tree

We're running @Oracle mainly for three reasons:

  • Forced Outcome for reliable crits and more plant triggers
  • The Unseen Path to save passive points
  • Entwined Realities for additional efficiency

From there, we focus heavily on:

  • Spell Damage
  • Critical Strike
  • Energy Shield
  • Mana sustain
  • Nature's Archon duration and cooldown

A major pickup is Cut to the Bone, ensuring permanent Armour Break and giving us a large boost to physical damage.

For jewels, prioritize:

  • Spell Damage
  • Critical Strike
  • Energy Shield
  • Generic damage

Later on, grab Resonance and use either a strong rare jewel or a Against the Darkness setup depending on budget.

If you're missing points, prioritize damage and Archon uptime first, then fill out Energy Shield and jewel sockets.

How it Plays

How It Plays

During leveling, cast Thrashing Vines, overgrow with Thunderstorm and spam Entangle to clear.

Once mapping starts, gameplay becomes much smoother.

Activate Nature's Archon in set 2, then mostly hold down Entangle while moving through maps. Plants will continuously overgrow and explode automatically.

When Archon falls off, start manually using Thunderstorm again until it's available.

For bosses, keep Archon active, drop Elemental Weakness and keep blasting.

Simple gameplay. Water plants. Everything dies.

How it Works

How It Works

The build works by stacking multiple plant interactions on top of each other.

We spawn plants through Entangle and Thrashing Vines, then force them into overgrowth to massively increase their damage and trigger Accelerated Growth II explosions.

Early on, Thunderstorm handles most of the overgrowing manually.

Later, we abuse Nature's Archon to instantly overgrow our casts and automate most of the process instead.

This turns the build from a multi-button setup into an almost one-button playstyle while massively increasing damage output.

Most of the build is therefore focused on maximizing Archon uptime, solving mana, and scaling physical spell damage.
