Build Overview

Hey guys, It's Lazy Exile, and I want to share my League Starter that is using the Lightning Spear as the main skills to clear and blast maps.

The goal is to create a strong character that is capable of farming contents in the early game and I think Amazon is an exceptional Ascendancy to do just that!

There are full step-by-step written guide from Act 1 to 6, and I'll be updating with the best setup to get through the campaign as a Lightning Spear Javazon

Campaign

The version I'm running with is Optimize for speed, damage in the campaign and not much defensive powers.

Act 2 - Charms

15% increased Mana Recovery from Flasks

Act 3 - Venom

Need some testing first (most likely Stun Threshold or Elemental Ailment Threshold because 0.2 nerf to Threshold)

Act 2 Cruel - Charms

15% increased Life Recovery from Flasks

Act 3 Cruel - Venom

Chaos resistance (recommended on League starter)

FAQs

1. How do we generate Frenzy Charges?

  • Embitter in Infuse Weapon will make Lightning Spear have cold damage and will chill/freeze enemies which will make Combat Frenzy give Frenzy Charge
  • Cast Sniper's Mark on mobs, and crit them to consume the mark, and get a Frenzy Charge
  • Herald of Thunder will electrocute with Electrocute and Neural Overload with Combat Frenzy

2. Why don't you use Kitoko's Current ?

  • Electrocute with Herald of Thunder
  • We are running Redflare Conduit not just for Infuse Weapon, but also to use Potential and give Lightning Spear 40% more crit chance. Which is why Power Charge setup is BUDGET
  • Gloves slot give Flat Damage, which is good
  • If you have 100% crit chance on Lightning Spear without Potential, feel free to swap to Kitoko's Current setup

3. Rotation for Boss (Early Setup)?

  • Sniper's Mark, throw Lightning Spear
  • Rinse and Repeat, occasionally, throw out Storm Lance
  • You can also throw Storm Lance + Sniper's Mark on repeat as well, but this will require Scattershot, and I like to throw Lightning Spear more.

4. Rotation for Boss (Cast on Crit Setup)?

  • Spam Storm Lance (1-button) on boss
  • Use Barrage on cooldown, but you NEED Inhibitor Support, this is not available on Mobalytics yet so I don't have it in the Skill Gems setup

Strengths and Weaknesses

  • Strong Ascendancy with good scaling and high base crits
  • Insane Clear from Lightning Spear in the End Game
  • Extremely fast mapper with Rhoa
  • Weak single target DPS (fine for T15 mapping)
  • Squishy (Evasion base and riding Rhoa) until swap to Tanky Variant

Gear Priorities

1. Weapon

Tangletongue

Weapon Stats:

  • High critical hit chance base (depending on budget, but in this setup, we have Pinpoint Critical in Storm Lance so we don't need too high base crits)
  • Socket with Greater Vision Rune and spec into Penetrate to get more physical damage

Omen Scepter

  • You're looking for attributes
  • High spirit rolls

2. Core Unique

Maligaro's Virtuosity

  • Fixed our Critical Damage Bonus at 300%, so we can focus on getting more tanky

Beacon of Azis

  • Free pen is very strong, and we have 100% crit chance

3. Rares

Helmet

  • High ES base for Subterfuge Mask
  • Critical Hit Chance is good to have / Accuracy is fine too
  • Rarity is okay too
  • Life Resistances

Ring

  • Emerald Ring base is good because of Accuracy
  • Flat damage (Phys, Lightning)
  • Lightning Damage %
  • Attributes (mainly Int + Dex)
  • Life, Resistances, Rarity

Boots

  • Energy Shield/ Evasion base
  • Movement Speed (25%+)
  • Life, Resistances, Dexterity

Body Armour (ideally Falconer's Jacket)

  • Energy Shield/ Evasion Base (higher the better)
  • Life, Resistances, Dexterity

Belt

  • Life, Resistances
  • Fine Belt base is nice for Charges gain on Flasks

4. Jewels

  • From Nothing - either Crimson Assault or Oasis
  • Rest of the Jewels, you have 2 options:
    • Emerald with Companion Damage + (Elemental Damage/Lightning Damage/Damage with Spear) and for the suffix, the best one is Movement Speed or Crit Chance
    • Sapphire with #% Increased to Maximum Energy Shield + Elemental Damage

Key Skill Gems

Support Gem are listed in order of importance, so if you don't have the link, just go with the order as shown

Order of quality on gems:

  1. Cast on Critical because you save 10 spirit
  2. Lightning Spear because you get 2 extra bolts
  3. Barrage for more damage
  4. Sniper's Mark for extra critical damage
  5. Combat Frenzy for more consistent frenzy charges

Notes

1. Spirit Breakdown?

  • You need a total of 225 spirit
    • 90 spirit for Cast on Critical (20% quality)
    • 30 spirit for Combat Frenzy
    • 30 spirit for Herald of Thunder
    • 45 spirit for Rhoa Mount (Companion nodes)
    • 30 spirit for Ghost Dance

2. Where can you get the spirit from?

  • Potential maximum spirit you can get:
    • 100 base from the campaign
    • 50 from the Body Armour (ideally no)
    • 45 from from Beacon of Azis
    • 165 from Omen Scepter
  • Easily achievable number with a good scepter, and you also get spirit on Beacon of Azis
  • Sacred Flame is the end game upgrade, and you can drop all the other support aura like Clarity, Cannibalism, Precision

3. Why Rhoa?

  • Extremely smooth to play with Spears
  • Scale 1 to 1 with your movement speed
  • Help us charge Volt faster
  • Don't get hit or you will die?
  • If you get heavy stunned and fall off Rhoa, press Esc, exit to character and log back in and you'll be fine

4. Tame Beast?

I keep one extra gem slot for Tame Beast because some of the combination can be useful later, like haste aura, temporal bubble, hinder aura, etc...

T15 Mapping (Level 85+)

Notable Passives

Inspiring Ally is the main way to get damage on the build, and we are taking those small companion nodes for damage.

This is an end-game version, so you should be at least 85+, if not 90, so I won't explain the notable priority!

Tree go up to level 95, but if you are going for 100, you can get Defences and Companion Life nodes, which give 10% ES + 10% Evasion, which is still efficient

Attributes

We are taking Dexterity for our attributes.

This build is a bit attributes hungry, so make sure you grab Int & Str when needed on gears

Ascendancy

  1. Elemental Infusion
  2. Critical Strike
  3. Penetrate (accuracy Vision Rune on Tangletongue)
  4. Predatory Instinct (for damage)
