Build Overview

BIG UPDATE

BIG EDIT: I've made major changes to the MAPPING variant, which may just replace the pinnacle bossing variant overall because it is just better. Mapping variant uses The Coming Calamity and Headhunter. We get to DROP Beacon of Azis because of Calamity resist neutralizing, so run a rare Bloodstone Amulet with Crit Mods , Accuracy, Resist ... whatever you need.

These changes have made the build cheaper (by a lot), stronger, and less spirit-demanding (only 20 spirit total needed on gear). Also an unset ring is no longer needed and you will have a free skill slot for Blink on swap.

This mapping variant will be up to date with the PoB as of 06/26/2025. Come to Discord and ask if you notice any differences.

Introduction

---------------------

With a PoB accurately reflecting 48 million DPS for the cost of less than 20 Divs for the core components of this build, this has been an awesome tour through an easy, fun, and fast way to repeat-farm the Pinnacle content changes from the most recent patch.

It works best for Breach, next for Logbooks and King (Xesht, Olroth, and KitM are all easy delete). It is NOT good for Arbiter. If the Power Charges get consumed on Flicker, you are a sitting DUCK.

This build revolves around Flicker Strike for boss deletion and Ice Strike for general clearing, supported by power charge generation and AoE buffs.

I have variants for Pinnacle repeats and Mapping. They are quite different, with mapping leveraging The Coming Calamity and a lot more AOE / freeze based nodes.

Setup for Bosses:

    • Swap to Rattling Scepter and Skeletal Warrior to summon minions.
    • Use Sacrifice and Profane Ritual to generate power charges (aim for 6).
    • Cast Charged Staff with max power charges for a massive damage buff.
    • Swap to Redblade Banner and cast Infernal Cry (1-2 times) when the boss spawns to gain up to 150% fire damage conversion.
    • Use Flicker Strike to delete the boss. Make sure gem is 20% quality with Perpetual Charge for a high chance to not consume charges.

General Clearing:

    • Use Ice Strike for efficient clearing with its 3-hit combo, cold conversion, and +7 melee range on the third hit.
    • Optionally use Flicker Strike for fun, but avoid if charges are low to prevent getting stuck.
    • Maintain Herald of Ash, Herald of Thunder, and Voltaic Mark (via Cast on Critical) for AoE clear. Remove Voltaic Mark if mana is an issue.
    • Refresh Charged Staff during combat lulls when power charges are at 6.

Mana Management:

    • Spam your mana potion during clears, as Voltaic Mark and Profane Ritual can drain mana.
    • Fluke support gem helps restore mana during Profane Ritualcasts.

Survivability:

    • Stack resistances (aim for cap) and use a hybrid evasion/ES chest
    • Spectral Ward on the passive tree boosts defenses if using evasion/ES gear

Strengths and Weaknesses

  • Pros
  • Deletes pinnacle bosses (e.g., @Zesht) in ~1 second with ~48M DPS.
  • Budget-friendly: Core items cost ~20 divines or less.
  • Fun and fast playstyle with Flicker Strike chaining and Ice Strike clear.
  • Easy crit-capping via Amazon’s Ascendancy and accuracy stacking.
  • Strong for Breach, Logbooks and King farming
  • Not ideal for general mapping compared to Whirling Slash builds.
  • Struggles with Arbiter due to high damage requirements and Power Charge consumption percentage
  • Requires weapon swapping for power charge generation, which can feel clunky
  • Mana management can be tricky during clears with Voltaic Mark

Build Variants

Mapping

This build ain't bad for high-juiced maps. The flicker is quite enjoyable and it cleans up really nicely on the messy endgame monster swarm of delirium / breach / beyond / ritual.

For mapping, it is best to swap in The Coming Calamity because all 3 heralds provide value for AoE clear as you are flickering. You can still run Ingenuity but with the buffs to HH I prefer a Headhunter.

Since we have Calamity for neutralizing enemy resists, we can now swap off Beacon for a rare amulet. Here you can pick your poison. Melee Skills, Crit Chance, Crit Bonus, and Accuracy are all very strong.

Weapon Set 2 Only:

Note: When you allocate Weapon 2, start by setting Skeletons to 0. Turn on the other Spirit gems, set them to II only. Then with remaining spirit hit the + sign on Warrior to max out skeles

A good spirit roll on your Rattling Sceptre should still allow lots of skeletons

  • Skeletal Warrior (Make sure to hit the + sign to increase the number of minions)
  • Sacrifice (This is required to actually use your skeles as corpses)
  • Infernal Cry (You want this to combo with your Redblade Banner for max POWER)
  • Blink (Just Quality of Life --- not required)

Weapon Set 1:

  • Cast on Critical (90)
  • Wind Dancer (30)

120 total ( you get 100 from campaign, so you only need 20 on gear, recommend getting it from The Deepest Tower with a spirit enchant, but can also get it from rare amulet)

Passive Skill Tree

The passive tree is straightforward, focusing on crit, accuracy, power charges, and low-life scaling. Key allocations:

  • Accuracy Stacking:
    • Take Falcon Dive for attack speed
    • Allocate accuracy nodes to leverage Amazon’s 25% of accuracy as physical damage and crit chance scaling.
  • Power Charges:
    • Allocate power charge nodes for extra damage (up to 9 with some gearing changes as well)
    • Avoid over-investing if damage is sufficient at 6 charges.
  • Crit Scaling:
    • Prioritize crit chance nodes until 100% cap (check in Path of Building, as in-game tooltips are unreliable).
    • Once capped, swap to crit multiplier nodes (e.g., 15% crit bonus vs. 10% crit chance).
  • Low-Life Scaling:
    • Spec into low-life nodes with The Deepest Tower socket for massive DPS (use a Megalomaniac or a From Nothing next to Unwavering Stance to get Finality).
  • Jewels:
    • 1x @Megalomaniac with @Finality for low-life damage.
    • (OPTIONAL) 2x Time-Lost Emerald (small/large radius) for 7% crit chance + 10% crit bonus per notable.
    • Emerald or Sapphire with crit chance, crit bonus, or accuracy/ES.
  • Defenses:
    • Take Spectral Ward if using evasion/ES gear
    • Allocate resistance nodes to cap resistances.

Atlas Tree

For mapping, there is not much flexibility in the Atlas.

If you want the most challenge / highest juice (but die sometimes), remove the strongbox points and allocate every point that gives increased Waystone modifier explicit / implicit.

I prefer something more "cozy", so I drop the Waystone insanity and go with Researcher's boxes, which are a lot of fun.
