This is the setup before you get 
Essence Drain. You will use 
Chaos Bolt from your wand as your main single target skill along with 
Unearth to summon minions if there are any corpses nearby. 
Entangle and 
Contagion will take care of packs of enemies.

Weapon/Focus: + Level of Skills > % Spell Damage > Cast Speed > Crit.
Boots: Movement Speed > Resists / Life / Armour
Rings: Resists / Life / Cast Speed
Gloves/Helmet/Body Armour: Resists / Life / Armour
Amulet: + Level of Skills > Life / Resists / % Spell Damage / Cast Speed
Belt: Resists / Life / Armour
NOTE: Make sure to setup your weapon sets properly! All Chaos focused items/skills should be on Weapon Set 1. All Physical focused items/skills should be on Weapon Set 2. If you have a weapon or focus with generic % Spell Damage or "All Spell Skills", make sure to use it for both weapon sets!

How it Plays
Level 1 to 5:
Cast 
Contagion on mobs and then kill with 
Entangle to spread the damage. For bosses, you will primarily use Chaos Bolt, but use Entangle every few seconds to keep the duration up. If there are any corpses nearby you can use Unearth on them to summon minions that will boost your dps further.
Level 6 to 13:
Hit a mob with 
Essence Drain and cast Contagion on them to spread the damage to nearby enemies on kill.
For bosses, your rotation is:
Orb of Storms (not mandatory, but this can shock bosses for more damage)- Essence Drain
Chaos Bolt x2-3
Level 14+:
Essence Drain and Contagion remains the same for clearing packs.
For single target just use 
Bonestorm.
