Build Variants
See Section HOW IT PLAYS first before continuing!
Hybrid Defences. You're aiming for
Ancestral Tiara for the helmet (to scale
Subterfuge Mask),
Sleek Jacket for the body armour. Going with more ES is viable as well.
Obliterator Bow has the highest base damage but reduced projectile range. This can be potentially be impactful, for example, in Trial of Sekhemas. Otherwise
Warmonger Bow is ideal. N.B that
Gemini Bow is awful for base damage which negatively impacts
Snipe. See video for crafting steps.
Visceral Quiver is the ideal base as we're really trying to maximize our chance that
Snipe successfully crits when we do fire it. Note that any flats work, not just lightning. If you do not get projectile speed, remove
Feathered Fletching.
Sanctified Staff can technically just give you on-demand
Consecrate - the staff also potentially gives you +levels to spells. Currently
Thunderstorm and
Frost Bomb require level 18 in the endgame to actually work. +5 is guaranteed through essence meaning that with mastery supports we only need level 12 skill gems for both. This significantly reduces your attribute requirements. Further, you can add on cast speed and reduced attributes as your ideal two additional suffixes. Bonus for finding a lower level staff for this.
Solar Amulet - cheap annoint is
Heavy Ammunition - the mods in the planner are ideal mods and not requirements.

Mirage Deadeye

Freezing Salvo /
Barrage /
Elemental Weakness are all interchangeable and purely a preference situation.
Mirage Deadeye can run either
Lightning Arrow or
Ice Shot depending on situation and preference.
Ice Shot helps with freeze buildup for bossing and in mapping.
Lightning Arrow gives more AOE and shock while mapping since normally shock will be applied with a specific combo on bosses.
If you have access to it, Bhatair's Vengeance is a great replacement for Ice Bite II as at a default it just lasts longer, and otherwise when you have a chance to start scaling rage then you can improve the damage.
Passive Tree
This tree is designed more or less for level 85.
Imbibed Power and
Wellspring assume that you are using
Lavianga's Spirits
The tree has minimal elemental penetration making it noticeable if you will be mapping on +40% res maps. One consideration is to spend for
Snowpiercer.
Biting Frost notable moved in 0.5 - changed the tree a bit.
How it Plays
Mapping:
Ice Shot to kill enemies. If in juiced maps and damage is struggling, cast
Thunderstorm on enemies.
Bossing: Cast
Thunderstorm >
Frost Bomb >
Arc >
Elemental Weakness (if used) >
Freezing Salvo (if used) >
Ice Shot (until boss frozen) >
Barrage (if used) >
Snipe (don't miss!) - Click to see example
How it Works
Thunderstorm applies Drenched which gives more Freeze Buildup and Chance to Shock. Paired with Shock Conduction II we guarantee shock with
Arc. This allows us to take advantage of the increased shock magnitude on
Arc without needing to scale damage for it.
Frost Bomb and
Elemental Weakness generally give you enough -res to get a significant multiplier in most bossing scenarios prior to getting Rakiata's Flow.
Snipe gains huge damage when the enemy is a frozen unique. Therefore, we are simply aiming to freeze as fast as possible and scale as much damage as possible on
Snipe.
