Build Overview

This is my Leaguestarter for the 0.5 league. This build uses a slew of cold spells including Ice Nova, Frost Bomb, Frost Darts, and Frost Wall to freeze entire screens and bosses alike. With this setup I am looking to build into a new Runic spell this patch "Bitter Dead". This spell functions similarly to POE1's Volatile Dead where it consumes a corpse to create a heat-seeking projectile that explodes for cold damage. As this is a new spell this patch I will be cooking the build as I go with this as a starting template to scale up and through t15's. I will update this guide daily with any and all changes as I go and I will also be live 16 Hours a day on Leaguestart week.

Campaign:
Act 1: We use a standard Contagion Essence Drain and Bonestorm Combo as it is simply the strongest combination of spells you can use to get through act 1 while u have all generic spell damage. With your first spirit gem you pick up Mana Remnants.


Act 2: Once you have enough support gems for at least 2 each in Ice Nova Frost Bomb and Frost Darts We swap into our main setup of cold spells. Here we use Cold-Infused Ice Nova for clear combined with Snap and Frost Bomb to generate cold infusions. Frost Darts will be our primary single target along with Frost Bomb for exposure and Elemental Weakness.


Act 3 Onward: Here we socket Frost Wall into the mix which greatly boosts our single target potential. We continue clearing with our cold-infused Ice Nova same as before now with Siphon Elements for amazing QoL on our frost infusion generation.

For single target we now start by cursing with Elemental Weakness and Freezing Mark into a Frost Wall + Frost Bomb rotation to explode our Frost Wall for a massive damage. Using Frost Darts as filler.

Strengths and Weaknesses

  • Took down every pinnacle boss easily on less than 10div of gear
  • Freeze everything for as a great offensive and defensive layer
  • Beautiful Visual effects
  • Large AOE Clear
  • Frost walls can have weird behavior on a select few boss fights, doryani phase 2 / skeleton in the hole.

Build Variants

Here is a currency dump version that is way over the top for anything you need in the game and is in no way a requirement or necessary in any way but I had so much fun with this character I've continued to invest more and more and push it to this point. By this point you can easily carry 6 man pinnacle bosses or trials in seconds.

In this stage we push for t1 chest spirit and t2 spirit on our amulet, for 105 spirit ( 205 spirit total ). You can also slot in things like Dialla's Desire into blasphemy to free up 7 spirit with no additional changes or using the spirit alloy on a pair of boots to help push u there. This allows us to squeeze in anExplosive Transmutation setup for big clear along with Morrigan's Insight for huge amounts of guard with an Unset Ring.

For your endgame belt you can pick Headhunter or Mageblood Whatever you prefer. If you go Mageblood then I would reccomend Bismuth / Quicksilver / Diamond with a double up. This would make you swap around lots of gear suffixes mainly on your rings. With this you can pick up HUGE breach rings with crit mods, cast speed mods, mana cost efficiency, inc damage ect. Headhunter is much more plug-and-play power.

You also slot in a Cadigan's Epiphany into your gloves with another !bigjewel.
