Build Overview

Updated for 0.5

Alright... If you did want to play Invoker in 0.5, then this build will still work. Changes will be made as new runes and possibilities are discovered

This was a direct progression to Hollow Palm - Campaign Starter in 0.4. Not just serves as an end game build for the Invoker build around q-staffs and blowing up screens.

This guide will take us through using Falling Thunder as a low-budget transition needing only the staff, the onto a full Flicker Strike OR Falling Thunder build capable of easily doing full 6-man carries and killing anything you need solo.

Gloves in 0.5

Essentia Sanguis may feel bad with leech, although Falling Thunder slams should still be enough to ping you to full with the 40,000 leech cap.

Strengths and Weaknesses

  • One shot capable with Falling Thunder at lower investment or Flicker Strike at high investment.
  • Works as Party DPS
  • Can fit on a budget
  • Movement speed is whack in 0.4, but that's the same for most. We get to ~50%

Build Variants

Uses Whirling Assault for clear, more reliant on high flat damage rolls, particularly around lightning damage to ensure Herald of Thunder procs.

Note on Unset Ring

If you can't get an Unset Ring, drop Infernal Cry, it'll effect your rage generation and single target however, so consider swapping it and Herald of Thunder based on what you're doing.

Note on Ailith's Chimes

You need to socket it AFTER Culmination II or it won't go in.

Note on Spirit

If you're short on spirit, considering removing Cool Headed from Blasphemy. You could replace it with a curse support such as Ritualistic Curse

How it Works

Herald Chaining - 0.3, NOT WORKING IN 0.4 - KEEPING IT HERE AS A NOTE.

Well this deserves a bit of an explanation. The rest is just "stack crit, do damage"...

Herald of Ice and Herald of Thunder CANNOT chain one another, so we need something in the middle which is not a herald attack, and we've been given a lifeline from the new Legacy Support gems, namely these two;

Piety's Mercy

Uul-Netol's Embrace

By doing Chaos Damage with Herald of Ice socketed with Uul-Netol's Embrace we're able to cause Armour Breaks and proc Armour Explosion, the damage from Armour Explosion is able to proc further Herald attacks.

Herald of Thunder primes enemies in a frozen state ready for them to be hit with the Armour Explosion causing further Herald of Ice and Herald of Thunder procs. By socketing this with Piety's Mercy we ensure the mobs are left with 1hp and Frozen , basically turning them into primed mines waiting for a nice armour explosion.
