Build Overview

About This Build;

Herald Chaining

This build uses Armour Explosion to imitate the effects of herald proliferation from patches past (And it's pretty good at it)

Movement/Flicker and Falling Thunder

It uses both Flicker Strike for bossing/movement and Falling Thunder for those "Why did Flicker Strike put me here?!" moments. (Believe me, they happen)

Why Chaos Damage?

To use Armour Explosion effectively we utilise Uul-Netol's Embrace which naturally pushes us to a more Chaos Damage orientated set up to really get the damage required for those top end waystones and group content.

One-Shot Ability

We use Garukhan's Resolve in Flicker Strike and max the crit of this ability specifically to one shot the bosses, it's quite beautiful.

Strengths and Weaknesses

  • High movement speed (60/80% on belt preference)
  • One shots bosses
  • T16 150% Deli Capable
  • Works as Party DPS (Just don't Flicker Strike!)
  • Can fit on a budget
  • No Switches (Well... one if you want to run sims...)
  • Flicker Strike can put you places you don't want to be
  • Rarity is a stretch, with only rings/helm slots open for this. 150 achievable, but it'll cost.

Build Variants

This is the CI Version. (Chaos Inoculation)

Ultimately a lot tankier and more capable of doing end game content in a consistent manner.

Gear Stat Priorities

Helmet

  • Priority - Defence, Resistances
  • Secondary - Crit Chance, Rarity
  • AIM FOR 500+ ES
  • Socket : Greater Iron Rune or Resistances as needed

Chest

  • Priority - Defence, Resistances
  • Secondary - Faster Start of Energy Shield Recharge
  • AIM HIGH HERE for Lead me through Grace...

Gloves

  • Priority - Triple Flat Damage, 100% Socket Effect, Attack Speed, 3x Sockets
  • Secondary - Crit Bonus, Rarity
  • Socket : Talisman of Sirrius

Boots

  • Priority - Movement Speed, Defences, Resistances
  • Socket - Farrul's Rune of the Chase

Rings

  • Priority - Phys Damage, Lightning Damage, Phys Damage as Mana (On one ring!), Phys Damage as Life (On one ring!)
  • Secondary - Rarity, Attributes

Amulet

Astramentis

  • Annoint this with Jack of all Trades or Subterfuge Mask depending on what you have on the Megalomaniac

Belt

You actually have a lot of flex here, Headhunter, Ingenuity or Darkness Enthroned all fit well.

Sims Setup

Swap all the Supports from Herald of Ice so they're in Herald of Thunder, it'll then self proliferate just like HoI does in maps.

Arbiter Setup

Swap Nova Projectiles and Ricochet II for Fist of War III and Ambrosia

Attributes

Try to keep them balanced for Jack of all Trades - Hitting 225 should be easily achievable with no stat lines on rings just Astramentis

Jewels Equipped x5

Heroic Tragedy (Heroic Tragedy)

Socket this to the slot nearest to Resonance

Make sure it has the line "Conquered by Vorona" so it changes keystones to Black Scythe Training (Strength now gives bonuses to energy shield)
The number doesn't matter, but if you can get one that changes For the Jugular to Mercenary's Lot or Triskallions.. something.... (50% increased dam on empowered attacked) these are best

Against the Darkness (Against the Darkness)

Socket this to the slot nearest to Walker of the Wilds

Against the Darkness you want one of these socketed in the jewel socket closest to Walker of the Wilds this will hit 5x key notables giving us 20% damage as extra Chaos

  • Notable Passive Skills in Radius also grant Gain x% of Damage as Extra Chaos Damage

As a secondary try to get one of the other lines that are x% of Damage as Extra Fire/Cold/Lightning but these can be expensive, the Chaos one is the must have.

From Nothing (Walker of the Wilds) - No specific jewel slot

Allows application of skills within a radius of the notable "Walker of the Wilds"

We take the following notables:

  • Heartstopping
  • Stupefy
  • Dizzying Hits
  • The Fabled Stag
  • The Howling Primate

Megalomaniac - No specific jewel slot

You need one with EITHER;

  • Jack of all Trades
  • Subterfuge Mask

For the other passives consider;

The tree and figure out "Does this save me points", if not that "Does this help the build" and if it's a useless secondary "Does it harm the build in any way"

Heart of the Well - No specific jewel slot

These again can be hard to shop for but there are some really good lines that can appear for our build, namely:

  • Gain X% of Damage as Extra Chaos Damage
  • Energy Shield from Equipped Body Armour
  • NICE TO HAVE: Movement Speed


How it Plays

Mapping/Other (Solo)

  1. Find a pack and hit them with Tempest Flurry (Everything will explode)
  2. Activate Charged Staff
  3. This will give you stacks, so run about use Flicker Strike
  4. This will take you... somewhere? If danger press Falling Thunder

Make sure you keep up Charged Staff use the ability you want to kill things, it'll all proc the Herald Chains, you're just deciding "Do I want to be where Flicker Strike wants me to be?" or "Am I in danger? (Falling Thunder you are my only hope)" or "God damn this animation is sexy" (Tempest Flurry) - On the latter it's actually good for wall banging with Charged Staff

Mapping/Other (Party)

  1. Find a pack and hit them with Tempest Flurry (Everything will explode)
  2. Activate Charged Staff
  3. If danger Falling Thunder

Sorry, your rarity bot will hate you if you Flicker Strike just take it off your skill bar.

Bossing

  1. Hold down Tempest Flurry
  2. Press Hand of Chayula (With 30+ charge, this will give you 3 power charges)
  3. Press Flicker Strike

How it Works

Herald Chaining

Well this deserves a bit of an explanation. The rest is just "stack crit, do damage"...

Herald of Ice and Herald of Thunder CANNOT chain one another, so we need something in the middle which is not a herald attack, and we've been given a lifeline from the new Legacy Support gems, namely these two;

Piety's Mercy

Uul-Netol's Embrace

By doing Chaos Damage with Herald of Ice socketed with Uul-Netol's Embrace we're able to cause Armour Breaks and proc Armour Explosion, the damage from Armour Explosion is able to proc further Herald attacks.

Herald of Thunder primes enemies in a frozen state ready for them to be hit with the Armour Explosion causing further Herald of Ice and Herald of Thunder procs. By socketing this with Piety's Mercy we ensure the mobs are left with 1hp and Frozen , basically turning them into primed mines waiting for a nice armour explosion.
