Lead is a key resource in Subnautica 2, used for several advanced upgrades. In this article, you'll find out the best Lead locations and everything you need to know to make the most out of the resource.
Everything You Need to Know About Lead
Where to find Lead
Lead is not commonly found in the starting areas of Subnautica 2. Players will need to dive into different biomes and venture deep into the ocean to find it. This resource is used to craft advanced materials and tools, and is not easily accessible without having basic equipment first, like the Basic Fins and the Wakemaker.
Best Lead Location
Lead can be easily found primarily near the Cicada Wreck (Lander Garage), a large wreckage fragment just over 300 meters North-East from the Lifepod. To get there, swim in the NE direction until you come across a huge structure.

The Lander Garage has dozens of Lead deposits around it, found on the ocean floor below the 50m depth. Lead is characterised by its bright purple glow and blocky shapes.

Gather Large Lead Deposits with the Sonic Resonator
The Sonic Resonator is an essential tool in Subnautica 2 that allows you to mine large ore deposits across the world. It can speed up mineral farming, but requires Lead to be crafted in the first place. It is recommended to focus on the small Lead ores and head back to craft the Sonic Resonator, which will allow you to mine at high speeds.
