Overview
Shallows

The Shallows serve as the starting area in Subnautica 2. This lukewarm, bright biome is filled with small creatures and plenty of early-game resources, and is where your Lifepod is located.
This biome is located up to 200 meters deep in the areas surrounding the Lifepod.
Notable locations:
- Lifepod
- Welcome Center
Plateaus

The Plateaus are located North and North-East of the Lifepod. This biome houses giant jellyfish-like creatures and is usually devoid of vegetation. The sea floor in this area can reach up to 70 meters deep.
Notable locations:
- Old Habitat
- Colonist Bunker (Sophie's Retreat)
- Camp One
Anemone Hills

The Necrolei Hills are North-West of the Lifepod and are covered in big Necrolei anemones. Players can easily find Necrolei Cysts, Copper, and Silver here.

- Large Wreck (Anemone Hills)
Lead Zone

The Leadzone is located to the East of the Lifepod. This area houses several shallow cave systems around the 60-meter depth mark, and has several Lead deposits.

- Cicada Wreck (Lander Garage)
Tufa Towers

This biome is located South and South-West of the Lifepod. It is characterised by its numerous stalagmites.

- Spider Dome
- Cicada Wreck (Canteen)
- Small Wreck (Tufa Towers)
Graveyard

The Graveyard is a volcanic biome located East of the Lifepod. Players will need the Extreme Heat Adaptation to venture through this area, and Oxygen supplies that last long enough to venture up to 200 meters deep into the sea floor.

- Tadpole Pens
Observatory

The Observatory is located far East of the Lifepod, after crossing the Graveyard and the ocean trench beyond it. Contains big alien structures and a functional abandoned base below the 100-depth mark.

- Alterra Base
- Needler Nest
Power Plant

This biome is far East of the Lifepod, after crossing the Graveyard and the Observatory. Its ocean floor is around the 300-meter depth, and contains several alien structures.
Notable locations:
- Abandoned Base
- Broken Turbine
Root Canyon

The Root Canyon is the deepest biome available in Subnautica 2 Early Access, and is located furthest East of the Lifepod. Players must go East beyond the Power Plant and go down to 400-meter depths to reach it.

- Cicada Wreck (Therapy Room)
