Melee weapons are divided into Swords, Axes, and Maces. Within those weapon types, you will find both One-Handed and Two-Handed options.
One handers are faster but deal less damage, whereas Two handers are the opposite. Swords, Axes, and Maces all have different movesets - put simply, Swords stab and therefore have further range, Axes cleave and are better in AoE fights, and Maces tend to stagger or launch enemies. Swords and Axes do Edge damage, and Maces do Blunt damage.
