Gadgets are powerful cooldown-based abilities that can completely change the dynamic of your build. You'll be encountering several different types of enemies, so having the right tools for the job can greatly impact your experience.
There are three categories of Gadgets, each of which corresponds to a particular Ink Tank.
In the beginning of the game, players can equip up to two Gadgets at a time. Both Gadgets must be from the same Ink Tank, so there are some limits when it comes to your build.
Later on after you progress, you'll eventually unlock the ability to equip a third Gadget, opening the door to even spicier combos. Keep collecting Power Eggs until your Power Tank powers-up!
Gadget Parts are the heart and soul of customization in Splatoon Raiders. They are the building blocks that define the strength of each Gadget, and they can even modify how the ability works.
Let's look at the Booyarang as an example. In its base form, the Booyarang is a single boomerang throw that deals damage to enemies it hits. However, if you equip the "Multirang" part, it will actually change the ability to throw two Booyarangs at a time.
These types of parts go well beyond simply buffing Damage; they alter the mechanic of the ability. With this, there are seemingly endless combinations to explore.
Each Gadget Part comes with an equip cost noted in the top left corner of its icon (or to the left of the name when in use). When you equip a part, it will occupy the designated amount of Gadget Part Slots.
For anyone familiar with The Adventures of Elliot, this works just like the Magicite system.
With this system, you can freely mix and match parts to your liking, so long as they don't exceed your Gadget Part Slot capacity. As to be expected, strong and/or unique effects will come at a higher cost.
As you level up your character and earn Skill Points, you can upgrade your Ink Tanks to gain more slots. So if you happen to be a point or two shy of making a certain combination, leveling up can allow you to come back and put it together!
Description: Great for a quick leap, this stylish footwear item also creates an explosion when you land.
Blast Boot is available by default as the starting Speed Tank Gadget.
Description: Dash with explosive force. Choose a direction with (L) and blast away!
Description: Hurl it like a boomerang (emphasis on "boom"), and enjoy its graceful, damaging arc.
Description: Jump with explosive force. Choose a direction with (L) and blast away!
Description: Extend a line and zip to where it attaches. Sticks to inkable ground, inkable walls, and Salmonids.
Description: Rush forward and attack in a wide, slashing arc. Strikes many things at once.
Splatchet is available by default as the starting Power Tank Gadget.
Description: Sends Salmonids flying as it moves forward. Hold the button to lock on to and chase Boss Salmonids.
Description: Orbits eight discs around you that ink the ground. Deals damage to enemies that get close.
Description: You've never thrown down the gauntlet like this before. Bigger booms from higher heights.
Description: Shoots exploding ink. The longer you hold the button to charge up, the more powerful the explosion.
Description: Your turret buddy automatically fires at nearby crates and Salmonids. Thanks, turret buddy.
Shot Pot is available by default as the starting Tactical Tank Gadget.
Description: Shoots five simultaneous lines of ink that bounce off terrain. The static lines damage Salmonids.
Description: Explodes after being attacked by a weapon. The more you link together, the bigger the explosion.
Description: Connects you to a laser. Extend it long enough, and it will get thicker and deal more damage.
Description: Deployed on the ground of walls, this gadget creates a vortext. Its blade sends Salmonids flying.
