Enshrouded will officially leave Early Access on October 15, bringing several combat and quality of life improvements alongside its PlayStation 5 release.
These changes are based on feedback from Enshrouded players and include a major update for the Fell Dragon Youngling, a choice between two versions of Updraft, new character proportions and improvements to fishing. A huge thanks to the official Enshrouded team for sharing an early look at what is coming in 1.0.

Fell Dragon Youngling Changes
The Fell Dragon Youngling has long served as the final boss in Enshrouded, but many players have found it to be more of an obstacle than an enjoyable challenge.
Several changes are being made to improve the encounter. Bugs that could cause the dragon to reset to full health or become stuck and unresponsive are being fixed.
The arena will also be made deeper, reducing the chance of players accidentally falling or being knocked over the edge by the dragon’s gust of wind.
A new phase is being added in which the dragon lands on the ground. This will allow melee characters to attack it without first needing to stun it.
The fight is also receiving several additional changes:
Fewer stunning attacks will be required to stun the dragon.
The dragon will take more damage during its normal phases.
The weak spot on its back will work with every weapon type.
The dragon will remain stunned for longer.
It will take slightly less damage while stunned.
Its hitbox will be refined to make it easier to hit.
Its overall health will be significantly reduced.
Melee characters can also parry the dragon’s rock projectiles, reflecting them toward the boss and helping to stun it.
The goal of these changes is to ensure the Fell Dragon Youngling remains challenging without making the encounter feel like a chore.
Enemy Health After Dying
Dying during a difficult fight will no longer cause the enemies you were fighting to immediately recover all their health.
Instead, enemies will gradually regain health after you die. This gives you an opportunity to return and continue wearing them down rather than always having to restart the encounter from the beginning.
This feature is still being tested internally, with the developers working to find the right balance before release.
Choose Your Updraft Style
Update 8 added a charge time to Updraft and changed the strength of its movement. However, many players preferred how the ability worked before those changes.
In Enshrouded 1.0, a new option in the game settings will let you choose which version of Updraft you want to use. You can select the original instant Updraft or the newer, slower version.
This means each player can choose the Updraft behaviour they prefer.
New Character Proportions
Enshrouded 1.0 will introduce new player proportions, making Flameborn characters look more like heroes ready to save the realm and less like hobbits searching for second breakfast.
Players with existing characters will be able to visit Elio Ricci and update their Flameborn’s appearance to use the new proportions.
Fewer NPCs and Pets Getting Stuck
NPCs and pets should be far less likely to become trapped in awkward locations around player bases.
There are several different reasons why inhabitants can become stuck, meaning there is no single solution to the problem. However, the developers have fixed every cause they are currently aware of, which should address most of the cases players are encountering.
If similar problems appear again in the future, they will continue working to fix them.
Fishing Improvements
Fishing is receiving a deeper rework intended to make the activity less frustrating.
Bait will now primarily attract fish from the biome where the bait resources were obtained. Improved fishing bait will also guarantee that any biting fish corresponds to the tier of the bait.
Location will no longer affect your chance of catching fish.
Certain fishing spots will increase the chance of finding treasure and trash, similar to the bonuses offered by some fishing rods. Other spots will instead increase the chance of fish biting.
Players who pay close attention will be able to tell these different fishing spots apart.
More Enshrouded 1.0 Changes Are Coming
These are only some of the changes planned for Enshrouded 1.0. More details will be revealed in the weeks leading up to its full release and PlayStation 5 launch on October 15.
