Overview

In this AIon 2 Shugo Festival guide, we’ll cover all the basics about the Shugo Festival, the activities, the event times, rewards, the Festival Shop and other fun tips!

How to Access

The Shugo Festival is available after reaching Character Level 10 and after completing the quest Visions in Smoke (Elyos) or Urgent Pursuit (Asmodian). Once unlocked, you can open it from the Main Menu. Under the Content section, you will see Shugo Festival.

This screen shows which games are open, which open next, and the Festival Shop where you can spend your reward Currency.

Available Every Hour

Shugo Festival activities are available at the top of every hour. The event has a 3-minute countdown; during this time, you can enter the event by clicking the timer beside your map and choosing one activity.

Keep an eye on the mini-map: a Shugo icon appears next to it when games become available. There is no sound alert, so it is easy to miss.

Shugo Festival Rewards & Shop

Reward Pool

Shugo Festival has a dedicated reward pool including Gear sets of varying rarities. (The variety increases when you hit Character Level 45 as well!)

Aside from gear sets, you can also gain gathering materials, crafting materials, and special Currencies which you can use to purchase growth materials and skins. (More on Centuryroot Tokens here.)

Rewards

When a game ends, you receive a basic participation reward and are offered a number of reward picks (Monster Cube selections). The reward system is randomized through 5 cards which you can select from. The number of cards you can select is determined by your placement in the match.

The better your placement, the more picks you get; however, you will need a Shugo Festival Reward Key to claim your rewards in Shugo Festival.

You can also decline to pick a reward entirely: "Choose not to select the Monster Cube? The number of Reward Keys will remain the same."

A common approach is to save keys for games where you place high and skip the picks after a poor result. If you have no keys left, the game warns you before you enter, but you can still join and participate.

(This is great if you want to practice a particular game, but don’t have the keys left to get rewards.)

Shugo Festival Reward Keys

Shugo Festival Reward Keys are what you spend to claim the rewards after a game.

Keys are shared per server: all your characters on the same server draw from the same key count. Daily keys stop adding up once you are at the cap, so spend keys before you reach 12 (or 21 if you have a membership.) to avoid wasting them.

Centuryroot Tokens

Centuryroot Tokens are a special Currency in Aion 2. They are attainable from the Shugo Festival itself, from Dimensional Invasion Key rewards, and from Shugo Festival achievements.

Festival Shop

The Festival Shop opens from the Shugo Festival menu, and every item costs Centuryroot Tokens. (Elyos and Asmodians see the same stock except for the Artworks.)

Monthly limits reset each month; "lifetime" limits never reset.

For most players, the consumable options are the best use of tokens because they help character growth. They are limited, but buying all of them still uses a lot of tokens.

Daevanion Crystals are sold in steps: each tier opens once you have bought out the one before it. Buying all 50 costs 10,500 tokens.

Buying all 35 Stigma Shards also costs 10,500 tokens.

Other notable things in the Festival Shop are the wings, pet, skin cosmetics, and, importantly, Artworks. (These are used in your Pantheon.)

Shugo Festival Games

As of now, there are 9 games in the Shugo Festival rotation. All of them are simple and last 5 minutes or less, and they cover very different styles: racing, memory, hide and seek, combat, so most players find at least one they like to repeat.

Durations below are the play time after the ready phase.

If a game does not have enough participants when it starts, it is canceled. You also need a minimum basic score in a game to receive any rewards from it.

Shugo Festival Tips & Tricks

Now that you're ready to take on the Shugo Festival, there are just a couple quick tips to note:

  • There are no "bests"!
The most important thing to note is that there is no "right game" to choose. Try each game to see if it's to your liking, and when you find one you are able to enjoy and win at, make sure to use your Shugo Festival Reward Key!
  • Spend your keys!
Remember, keys are shared per server: all your characters on the same server draw from the same key count. Daily keys stop adding up once you are at the cap, so spend keys before you reach it!
