Magicite is the heart of all customization in The Adventures of Elliot. It's a simple and elegant system that greatly expands what's possible in combat, offering plenty of depth for players to explore.
It won't take long to unlock initially, and once enabled it'll become a core part of your experience. This quick guide will explain everything you need to know, so let's dive in.
Magicite comes in the form of gems, which when equipped, provide unique perks that modify a weapon's abilities. Some of these are simple stat buffs, while others can completely change their effect.
Players have the freedom to change and equip Magicite directly from the menu. With the press of a button you can swap them out at any time, even during combat (no Tul required!).
Each Magicite has an "equip cost" to the left of its name, and you may equip as many as you'd like, so long as their sum doesn't exceed the Cost Limit (which can be increased, see "Magicite Box" below).
Do you try to optimize around their cost, or go for power over efficiency?
Magicite Types & Ranks
Magicite is categorized by weapon type and comes in five ranks (stars). 1-Star Magicite has the weakest version of the effect, while 5-Star is the strongest.
While some Magicite abilities are common across different weapons (ex. Attack Up), others are clearly tailored with unique properties.
The Magicite Shop Explained
While much of the magic happens from the main menu, the Magicite Shop is where you can create new Magicite and expand your Cost Limit. However, in order to do so, you'll need to find Magicite Fragments.
Where to Find Magicite Fragments
Magicite Fragments can be found in a number of ways, including monster drops, quest rewards, chests, and especially bosses. You can also acquire them from the Temple of Trials (limited to first completion).
While they generally appear in small quantities, they quickly add up throughout your time adventuring, so don't feel discouraged to spend them.
Form Magicite
After acquiring enough Magicite Fragments, you can visit the shop (located within the Kingdom etc.) and Form them into Magicite.
In the beginning, you'll only have the option to Form Magicite at random. However, after progressing further, you gain the ability to Form the Magicite of your choice, but at a higher Fragment cost.
You can create multiple Magicite at a time, and each individual one will be randomly rolled from 1-Star to 5-Star (in a gacha-like fashion). The odds are based on your Form Rank.
Thankfully, the game will always ensure that you don't over-level and waste resources, so no need to worry once you get close to the next Form Rank.
Once the Forming is complete, any duplicates you receive will automatically be converted into Magicite Fragments. So even if you don't get what you want, you'll still receive a small refund on top of the XP.
From the Form screen you can press a button to see a bird's-eye-view of the Magicite you've collected. You can also toggle between the star ranks to see their full details.
Disassemble Magicite
If you're truly in need of more Magicite Fragments, you do have the option to Disassemble your existing Magicite. However, given the fact that duplicates are automatically converted, this means you'll have to delete a unique enhancement. Think twice before you choose to Disassemble.
Magicite Box
The Magicite Box is what contains your "equipped" Magicite, and what determines your Cost Limit. You can pay Tul to expand the storage, raising the box level and increasing its capacity.
While the Tul costs eventually become quite expensive, it's definitely well worth the investment. After all, sometimes a single point determines whether a Magicite combo is equippable or not.
