Overview

The Gothic 1 Remake will have you ping ponging across the map running errands for numerous members of the Colony. After the 10th time running between the Swamp and Old Camp, you may be wondering: "is there a faster way to do this?" The answer to that question is yes, there is! Here's how you do it.

Acquiring Your Mount

Getting the Rideable Scavenger requires completing a short quest chain starting at Cohsel, situated around halfway between the Old Camp and New Camp.

Tip: before going here, make sure you have the required materials: 5x Kingstide, 3x Wolf Skin, 2x Leather Strap

Ore

You'll notice Cohsel has a few tamed animals in his camp. If you ask him about the Scavenger he will brush you off - if you keep asking, however, he will eventually give in and initiate the process of getting you your very own mount.

Beak Performance Pt 1

The quest to acquire your Rideable Scavenger mount is aptly named Beak Performance. Firstly, Cohsel will ask you to fetch 5x Kingstide. This is a purple-ish flower found underwater on lake beds. Most bodies of water will have some knocking about, but the large pond by the New Camp is a great spot to grab some.

Beak Performance Pt 2

Once you've handed over the Kingstide for attracting a Scavenger, it's time to create the saddle. For this, Cohsel will task you with retrieving 3 Wolf Skin and 2 Leather Straps.

Wolf Skin can be looted off Wolves if you've bought the Skinning skill from Drax. If you don't have 250 Ore to spare for the skill, you can instead buy the skins from Cavalorn next door or find it in the nearby abandoned hunting camp to the north-west.

Leather Straps are all over the Colony, and you can buy them from the Old Camp Blacksmith or Fisk.

Riding Your Mount

Once these two errands have been completed, Cohsel will tell you to wait until tomorrow before claiming your prize. Sleep or wait until midnight and then return to him, where he'll present you with your very own Rideable Scavenger whistle!

Simply equip the whistle and blow it when you want to run faster. Your mount is a little timid and shy - it doesn't like enemies, and it also can't be used in settlements.

Press F on Mouse & Keyboard to ride your mount, and R to pet it!
