Overview

In Warhammer 40,000: Darktide, there are many different classes and different ways you can play each class. With a little bit of tweaking, you can adapt your playstyle to fit certain scenarios or preferences.

If you're playing the new Skitarii class and prefer something up-close and personal, we've got you covered. Here's how to dominate with a melee loadout.

Check out the video from the creator of this build, Mister E, for more information on how to play it!

Primary Weapon

This build uses the Shock Maul as its primary weapon. This weapon alone isn’t very strong, but when you take these specific perks and the Blessings to go with it, then it can be quite powerful.

Perks

  • +25% Damage vs Carapace Enemies.
  • +5% Melee Critical Chance.

Blessings

  • High Voltage: +25% Damage vs Electrocuted enemies.
  • Skullcrusher: Target receives 4 Stacks of +10% Damage if already Staggered, to a maximum of 8 Stacks on target. Lasts 5 seconds. Can be refreshed during active duration.

Secondary Weapon

The Secondary Weapon in this build is the Phosphor Blast Pistol. A decent alternative is the Revolver, but the Blast Pistol has more damage and ammo.

Perks

  • Increase Ranged Critical Strike Chance by +5%.
  • +25% Damage (Unyielding Enemies).

Taking the extra crit in as a perk buffs the Infernus Blessing and makes our damage even higher.

Blessings

  • Infernus: 5 Burn Stack(s) on Critical Hit to a maximum of 15 Stack(s).
  • Crucian Roulette: +6 Critical Chance for each expended round in your weapon (resets on reload).

This weapon hits for 500+ damage, and this, combined with Infernus Burn Stacks, makes it incredibly easy for you to kill bosses.

Curios

In this build we recommend Herald’s Seal (Reliquary), Guardian Gloriana (Casket) and Blessed Bullet (Reliquary).

Talent Tree

One of the early marks in the Talent Tree is Shockline Breach Protocol, which will empower our primary weapon. As it gives increased melee cleave for 8s after pushing an enemy, you basically want to push and then cleave your targets over and over again.

Taking Redline Capacitors, followed by Resource Optimisation Canticles, means we can have 5 charges. If we take the Retribution Conduit, when we sit at 5 charges, then we get 35% damage vs electrocuted, and this, paired with the High Voltage Blessing, means we will be dealing 60% damage vs electrocuted enemies.

Because our build focuses more on melee attacks, taking Chordclaw Strike is highly variable, as it increases our damage. If you do not kill a target, then they can be electrocuted and paralysed if you take the Electo-Strike Conduit.

The Talent Tree selection heavily increases our damage output and makes killing targets easier while melee attacking.
