Updated for Title Update 3.5
Changes in TU3
- AT Nu Udra's
Udra Miremail γ allows for a new optimal non-Latent Power build using Lord's Soul. - We still combine AT Rey armor with Lagiacrus armor and use
Duna Wildgreaves γ in all sets; Dimensius (artian) is still the better weapon choice, with
Heaven's Thunder being optimal in Thunder matchups.
Armor set options
The recommended build does not use
Latent Power; there is an alternative Latent Power build utilizing AT Rey Dau parts in the 'Latent Power' tab.
Offensive Skill choices
Weakness Exploit and
Agitator are universal best-in-class offensive skills, and most sets will try to max them out first. Weakness Exploit can be changed to other options when reaching the affinity cap.
Maximum Might is an excellent Skill, but requires you not to use any stamina to stay active. If you find yourself dodging or blocking often, or your weapon drains stamina (like Bow, DB), you might want to switch to another skill or use
Second Wind I (Anjanath set bonus) to keep it active more often.
Counterstrike requires you to either block or receive an attack to activate (certain parry moves can also activate it). It is worth investing 3 points into this Skill if your weapon excels at activating it. Becomes less useful in multiplayer.
Adrenaline Rush is a front-loaded Skill, meaning it's usually best to just invest 1 point into it. Seregios' set bonus (
Seregios's Tenacity) boosts its damage and uptime, but there are usually better options. This Skill becomes much less efficient in Multiplayer as the monster will attack other players, too.
Latent Power should only be used with Rey Dau armor (
Thunderous Roar II). It can be activated by taking 130HP worth of damage, or after 2 minutes have passed during a fight. Worth using if you're occasionally getting hit.
Weapon choices
Artian weapons with 4 or 5 perfect rolls are the best Raw options, as they outclass other options. Their status offers utility, too. The recommended ailmanet is
Paralysis , but you can use
Blast too if preferred. Remember that you don't need a god-roll for the weapon to be usable. Getting 2x or 3x Attack and 1x Sharpness at least is more than enough!
For elemental weapons:
- Water: Mizutsune weapons are generally worse alternatives than optimized Artians.
- Dragon: Zoh Shia weapons are a nice alternative to Artian weapons if the target monster isn't excessively weak to
Dragon. Their
Whiteflame Torrent Skill becomes more useful the longer the hunt goes due to more procs activating. - Thunder: Lagiacrus weapons are better than Artian ones due to their
Convert Thunder Resistance Skill. If you can cap out affinity by increasing your Thunder Resistance, they are the highest-damaging weapons in the game against monsters weak to thunder.
As for weapon Skills:
Critical Jewel III is best-in-class and should always be fit first.
Rzr Sharp/Handicraft Jwl and
Mastery Jewel are both good options for Sharpness management.
Master's Touch is better with high Affinity (which this build has), but either option work well.
