Build Overview and Variants

Updated for Title Update 4

Changes in TU 4

  • Gogma Artian Weapons are preferred
  • We can get Lord's Soul + Gore Magala's Tyranny + Scorcher I (which has been buffed) together thanks to the skills in the Gogma Artians.

Offensive Skill choices

Weakness Exploit and Agitator are universal best-in-class offensive skills, and most sets will try to max them out first. Weakness Exploit can be changed to other options when reaching the affinity cap.

Maximum Might is an excellent Skill, but requires you not to use any stamina to stay active. If you find yourself dodging or blocking often, or your weapon drains stamina (like Bow, DB), you might want to switch to another skill or use Second Wind I (Anjanath set bonus) to keep it active more often.

Counterstrike requires you to either block or receive an attack to activate (certain parry moves can also activate it). It is worth investing 3 points into this Skill if your weapon excels at activating it. Becomes less useful in multiplayer.

Latent Power can be activated by taking 130HP worth of damage, or after 2 minutes have passed during a fight. Worth using if you're occasionally getting hit, and is further boosted by Rey Dau armor (Thunderous Roar II).

Weapon choices

Aether Pike (Gogma Artian) is the preferred weapon due to the better stats and group skills it offers.

For the artian augments: you ideally want to get:

  • Base parts: x3 Attack of the preferred element (Dragon is the best general-purpose one).
  • Tarred Device: Element Focus
  • Skills: Gore Magala's Tyranny + Lord's Soul
  • Augments: 4x Attack, 1x Sharpness

Armor Set Considerations

  • Trascend G. Rathalos Helm β and slot-in two Tenderizer Jewel.
  • Use Dahaad Shardmail Gamma and slot-in two Mighty Jewel.
  • Trascend G. Rathalos Vambraces β and slot-in Chain Jewel and Mighty Jewel.
  • Use Dahaad Shardcoil Gamma.
  • Use any charm with Master's Touch or any other good Weapon Skills and adjust weapon decorations accordingly.
