TU3.5: Endgame Great Sword Meta & Progression

Changes in TU 3. 5

• Great Sword is able to use the new Savage Omega set skill Dark Arts optimally; synergizing with True Shadowbringer's Darkside Skill. The constant HP drain activates Resentment and Latent Power; and with 2 pieces of AT Nu Udra equipment, we activate Bad Blood I which further boosts Resentment damage.

Armor set options

The build below is the best general-purpose option, but switching the chest piece to Rey Sandmail γ and the charm to Counterattack Charm III will activate Thunderous Roar I and grant Latent Power Lv5, which can be better if you can have good uptime on Latent Power.

Offensive Skill choices

Weakness Exploit and Agitator are universal best-in-class offensive skills, and most sets will try to max them out first. Weakness Exploit can be changed to other options when reaching the affinity cap.

Maximum Might is an excellent Skill, but requires you not to use any stamina to stay active. If you find yourself dodging or blocking often, or your weapon drains stamina (like Bow, DB), you might want to switch to another skill or use Second Wind I (Anjanath set bonus) to keep it active more often.

Counterstrike requires you to either block or receive an attack to activate (certain parry moves can also activate it). It is worth investing 3 points into this Skill if your weapon excels at activating it. Becomes less useful in multiplayer.

Latent Power can be activated by taking 130HP worth of damage, or after 2 minutes have passed during a fight. Worth using if you're occasionally getting hit, and is further boosted by Rey Dau armor (Thunderous Roar II).

Weapon choices

True Shadowbringer is the best weapon, outclassing Artians thanks to its Darkside skill, which enhances offset and charged attacks at the cost of health drain. Recovery Speed and Wild Jerky help offset the drain.

• High Lagia Blade is a good craftable alternative and great to farm Omega and get Shadowbringer.
• Varianza (Artian) can be used if you dislike the health drain mechanic. Use 3x attack parts and 4x attack and 1x affinity reinforcement.

As for weapon Skills: Focus/Handicraft Jewel is best-in-class and first priority. Then, Guardian/Handicraft Jwl (only if you have the double Lv3 deco) or Critical Jewel to fill out the remaining slots.
