Heavy Bowgun Campaign to Endgame Build Progression

You can get two great Heavy Bowguns pretty early in the game, which you can keep using up until the end of the story.

Chatacabra's Chata Sheller I is great early because:

• It has Standard Mode II by default, which boosts damage of Normal, Pierce and Spread Ammo by 20%.
• Has a high clip size for Normal Ammo, which is the easiest one to use
• It comes with a Defense Bonus, which is great for newcomers.

You should keep the default mods for this weapon, but you can choose whatever Special Ammo you like most.

Congalala's Power Stinger, on the other hand, focuses on using Wyvernheart because it has Ignition Mode II, which boosts damage in Ignition Mode by 20%. It can also shoot Paralysis Ammo to unleash a full Wyvernheart clip, Cluster Bomb, and Pierce Ammo 3, making it one of the best Raw Heavy Bowguns.

You should keep the default mods and Special Ammo for this weapon.

There are no armor pieces that benefit Heavy Bowgun specifically, so any armor is valid. Evade Extender and Evade Window are excellent Skills with the Heavy Bowgun. Due to its slower roll, they help with mobility and survivability, so we will prioritize them.
