Marvel RivalsMarvel Rivals Namor Character Guide
Namor Overview
The Atlantean King of the Seas summons sea creatures to his aid as he washes away his enemies. Namor’s auto-tracking and auto-firing turrets make him an excellent choice to make easy work of high-mobility enemies.
Tracking enemies flanking your team often proves to be the most challenging aspect of surviving their attacks. Not a problem for Namor as his turrets do all the work for him. On top of countering flankers, Namor’s tank busting capabilities should not be underestimated.
His secondary fire is easy to activate on Vanguards and combined with spamming his primary fire, he dishes out high levels of constant damage. He wants to play in the middle of his team where he can protect his strategists as his Vanguards protect him.
While his ult can be very easy to avoid, when combined with CC, the damage plus knockdown can make for an easy fight win.

TLDR
As
- Place turrets on walls where they are hard to destroy, but maintain LoS on the enemy.
- Have turrets deployed and ready before using your secondary fire.
- Combo your ultimate with your team's crowd control or stuns to prevent enemies from evading Giganto’s slam.
Against
- Destroy his turrets immediately. Monstro Spawns only have 100HP so if you see them, it's always worth destroying them first.
- Out Range him. Medium-range fights are optimal for Namor. Heroes with reliable long-range damage beat Namor.
- Evade the center of his ults AoE indicator. Getting hit by the outside does far less damage, but does knock you down. Your team can often help you survive the knockdown, but the center will instantly send you to spawn.
Strengths and Weaknesses
Strengths
Auto Fire Turrets
The best feature of Namor’s kit is his Monstro Spawn turrets. They can’t miss and continuously fire on their own. The turrets can even act as tiny shields in a pinch.
High Damage Output
Considering he can have up to three turrets attacking at the same time as spamming a primary fire with unlimited ammo, it's no wonder Namor often finishes games with top damage. Namor is always applying pressure and has a burst of damage from his secondary fire every 6 seconds.
Counters Dives and Flanks
The key to a good flank is catching a target by surprise and evading their counterattacks. Namor prevents both of these as his turrets start firing as soon as an enemy comes in range, even if he doesn’t see them. Additionally, they can’t dodge their auto attacks no matter how evasively they are moving.
Weaknesses
Weak Without Turrets
The fire rate of his primary is quite slow. Plus the slower travel speed and arc make it difficult to hit smaller and fast moving enemies. If he doesn’t have turrets out his secondary fire also becomes pretty useless.
Ultimate is Easy to Evade
Blowing his horn shell and launching Giganto to flop on the targeted area alerts everyone to run away. Any enemies near the edges of the AoE can walk right out.
Needs Team Peel to Follow Blessing of the Deep
Blessing of the Deep can be a great tool as it makes him completely invulnerable. He can’t travel very far, however, and can't heal himself. Enemies can easily track him and kill him upon exiting the ability if Namor’s team isn’t there to help him.
Ability Tips

Tips for Trident of Neptune
- Target Vangaurds
- Vanguards are way easier to pump damage into with your primary fire. Namor’s job isn’t really to pressure the enemy backline, so let your allies worry about that while you focus on their front line.
- Every Hit Reduces Aquatic Dominion Cooldown making landing shots your primary focus.
- Fish for Headshots
- Every time you land a headshot, your turrets go into berserk mode just as if you had landed your secondary fire.

Tips for Wrath of the Seven Seas
- Empowers Turrets
- Make sure you have turrets deployed before using your secondary fire.
- Namor’s most lethal ability.
- Take your time to aim and try extra hard not to miss your secondary fire. Activating berserk state is the primary focus in every game.
- Use Defensively
- When you know the enemy team has someone trying to dive your backline, save Wrath of the Seven Seas to launch a deadly counterattack.
- Use Offensively
- By default, the short cooldown means you can usually spam this ability to increase your damage output. If you see a Vanguard below half health, that is a great time to hit ‘em with the beserking trident.
[SHIFT]: Blessing of the Deep
DESCRIPTION | Summon a protective barrier while flying upwards |
KEY | SHIFT |
VERTICAL MOVING DISTANCE | 7m |
MAXIMUM DURATION | 3s |
COOLDOWN | 15s |
Tips for Blessing of the Deep
- Save to Escape
- Once a fight has started, don’t use Blessing of the Deep to reposition because that leaves a huge window of time where you have zero mobility and no way to escape death.
- Completely Invulnerable
- No matter what ability or ultimate the enemy team is using, Blessing of the Deep makes you 100% invulnerable. You can’t be stunned by Strange’s ult, eaten by Jeff’s ult, damaged by the Punisher’s ult, or anything in the game.
[E]: Aquatic Domination
DESCRIPTION | Summon a Monstro Spawn that can autonomously attack enemies |
KEY | E |
CASTING | Arced Trajectory (Summon Monstro Spawn), Direct Hit (Monstro Spawn) |
PROJECTILE SPEED (SUMMON MONSTRO SPAWN) | 30 m/s |
MONSTRO SPAWN MAXIMUM DURATION | 8s |
MONSTRO SPAWN HEALTH | 100 |
MONSTRO SPAWN ATTACK RANGE | 40m |
MONSTRO SPAWN MAXIMUM QUANTITY | 2 |
CHARGES | 2 |
Tips for Aquatic Domination
- Constantly Change Placement
- You want your turrets to stay alive as long as possible. If you keep putting them in the same places, the enemy team will become conditioned to quickly destroy them.
- Place Above and Behind
- Sticking the Monstro to a wall is always better than placing them on the floor. You want enemies to have to look away from you if they want to destroy your turrets.
- Placing a turret behind you will cover your flank when enemies try to sneak around.
[Q]: Ultimate: Horn of Proteus
DESCRIPTION | Summon Giganto to leap atop enemies within range, disabling their mobility abilities |
KEY | Q |
CASTING | Cylindrical Spell Field |
MAXIMUM DISTANCE | 30m |
RANGE | A cylindrical spell field with an inner circle radius of 3m, an outer circle radius of 8m, and a height of 3m |
HIT DELAY | 1.5s |
DAMAGE | Inner Circle Damage: 500; Outer Circle Damage: 200 |
IMMOBILIZE DURATION | 1.5s |
ENERGY COST | 3100 |
Tips for Horn of Proteus
- Combine with Crowd Control
- Giganto deals a whopping 500dmg in the center of its AoE. If your team stuns an enemy first, that guarantees you’ll hit them with the full damage.
- KOs Through Defensive Ults.
- Anyone with less than 500HP gets one shot by your ultimate.
- Example: Your ally Groot ults the enemy, and they use Invisible Woman’s defensive ult to survive. Giganto will still KO all Strategists and Dueults caught in your and Groot’s ultimate combo.
- one shot 275HP with ult damage boost
- If you're team has a Luna or Rocket, make sure to use your ult with their damage boost ultimate. Namor will then one-shot all 275HP heroes without the outer ring of his ult!
Team-Up: Frozen Spawn

Enhanced
DURATION | 2s |
FROZEN SPAWN FIRE RATE | 5 rounds per second |
FROZEN SPAWN DAMAGE | 18 |
FROZEN SPAWN DAMAGE FALLOFF | Falloff begins at 20m, decreasing to 30% at 40m |
Tips for Frozen Spawn
- Cycle with Aquatic Dominion
- Frozen Spawn has its own separate cooldown and should be used when you are waiting for your regular turret’s cooldown to end.
- Slow Debuff
- The slow inflicted by Frozen Spawn makes follow-up attacks easier for you and your entire team.
- Great against high-mobility enemies like Spider-Man.
- Deploy Before Ulting
- The slow debuff from Frozen Spawn makes it harder for enemies to evade your ult.
- Double the health of Regular Monstro
- Frozen Spawn has twice as much health as your regular turret, so it's much harder to destroy.
Synergies
Team Comp Synergies
Team comps built around Namor play off of each other's protection. Namor doesn't have any self-sustain so he needs a Strategist’s healing to hold his positions.
Having a Vanguard who can shield him from the enemy's ranged damage also greatly helps him to spam his primary fire and fish for headshots.
Thanks to his turrets, Namor is the best protector of vulnerable backlines. Strategists who struggle to deal with flankers on their own, pair well with Namor.
Team Comp Example
- Vanguards: Doctor Strange, Groot
- Duelists: Namor, Black Panther
- Strategists: Loki, Luna Snow
Hero Synergies
Vanguard: Dr. Strange
Strange has the best and most consistent Shield of any Vanguard - Namor can safely position behind Doctor Strange whilst unleashing his barrage of tridents.
Once Dr Strange has his ultimate ready, Eye of Agamotto’s stun plus Giganto is a combo few can survive. Melee Vanguards are strong into Strange, but they are who Namor loves to fight against because he has a major advantage against them.
Duelist: Black Panther
Throwing Spears is about the only thing that Namor and Black Panther have in common.
While Namor is trying to chip away at the front line, Black Panther goes in deep and harasses the back line. The split attack prevents the Vanguards from turning around and trying to help their Strategists while simultaneously cutting off healing to the Vanguards.
Strategist: Loki
Your team having three Lokis, a Namor, and two turrets creates so many different angles of attack that enemy teams have no idea where to direct their focus.
Realistically, teams cannot afford to waste their time and resources destroying two Loki clones and two Monstro Spawns because during the time it takes to destroy all that, the rest of your team will be blowing up their team.
Loki’s shapeshifting ultimate also gives Namor an extra opportunity for AoE stun ultimate combos.
