Marvel RivalsMarvel Rivals Luna Snow Character Guide
Luna Snow Overview
Steal the show with icey K-pop superstar Luna Snow! The best Strategist ult combined with a super high healing and a ranged stun has made Luna Snow a mainstay in all the quickly changing metas.
There isn’t a team comp that won’t benefit from having a Luna in their backline as she doesn’t have easily exploitable weaknesses. Pairing with stationary Vanguards like Strange and Groot let her farm ult really fast off of healing them. She wants to stay back and out of the enemy's line of fire, and is more than happy to be her team’s primary source of healing.
Find out where Luna Snow ranks in our Marvel Rivals tier list.
TLDR
As
- Remember that your Shift pierces, you can get a ton of value by simultaneously healing allies and damaging enemies.
- The best candidates to keep E on are your flankers, flyers, or allies that are in danger that you want to keep up at all costs.
- Your Freeze has a long 12-second cooldown, so use it wisely. You can use it to self-peel a diver/flanker or interrupt a key ultimate.
Against
- Ultimates like Iron Man or The Punisher's have enough damage to kill Luna through her ultimate.
- When she’s using her Shift, Ice Arts, try to minimize the number of targets she's hitting.
- If she has her ultimate available, try to get it out by pressuring her with your regular abilities. That way you can use your ultimate after she’s used hers.
Strengths and Weaknesses
Strengths
High Healing Output
Between her Light Ice primary fire, Ice Arts, Share the Stage, and her ultimate, Luna Snow has nearly endless resources with which to heal her entire team. Her combination of active and passive healing places Luna leagues ahead of the rest of the Strategists in raw stats and the ability to keep her allies’ health up.
She also doesn’t need to switch between damage and healing, which allows her to maximize healing uptime.
Best in Game Stun
Not only does Absolute Zero render its target frozen in place, but Luna heals up almost half of her HP before the freeze ends. When being attacked by a flanking enemy duelist, if Luna can hit them with her freeze stun, it pretty much solidifies the enemy’s death.
Landing Absolute Zero on any sub 300hp enemy allows Luna to one-shot combo that enemy. (see under tips and tricks)
Dual Use Ultimate
The Fate of Both Worlds Duration is very generous, which gives Luna and her team ample time to make game-winning plays. Luna can use the ultimate defensibly to counter enemy attacks or aggressively to give her team the offensive advantage with its damage boost.
Since she can continuously switch between the two, Luna can quickly adapt her ultimate to what her team needs moment by moment.
Weaknesses
No Mobility
Luna’s biggest weakness comes from her complete lack of mobility abilities. Yes, she technically has Smooth Skate, but this is only really helpful to get her back from spawn a bit quicker and can’t realistically be used as an escape tool.
Without any mobility, Luna relies on self-sustain and her freeze to survive against enemy aggression. She also cannot quickly reposition to follow her team if they are all trying to make a strong offensive play and go deep into enemy territory.
Mechanically Demanding
Other than Share the Stage, Luna has no abilities that give her free value. All of her resources rely on the player being able to land shots on both her allies and the enemy.
To deal with damage, Luna barely poses a threat to the enemy team unless she hits a lot of critical headshots. When trying to survive an enemy in her backlines, she has to land Absolute Zero, which can be very difficult given how fast the movement is in Marvel Rivals.
Crucial Ultimate
Your ultimate has the power to win fights or save your team, but if you use it at the wrong time, you'll leave your team open to losing a winnable match. Be ready to be targeted by counter ults like Iron Man and The Punisher (as we mentioned above in TLDR).

AMMO | 30 |
CRITICAL HIT | Yes |
Tips for Light & Dark Ice
- Prioritize healing
- Luna’s healing is far more valuable to her team than her damage. Don’t tunnel vision on damage and leave your allies waiting for healing.
- Help secure elims
- The best time to focus on dealing damage is when you see your teammates get an enemy down to low health. Luna’s hitscan primary fire is great for tracking and finishing off enemies who are at low health.
Secondary Fire: Absolute Zero
DESCRIPTION | Cast a clump of ice to Freeze the hit enemy and restore Health |
KEY | Right-Click |
CASTING | Single-cast projectile with delayed impact |
PROJECTILE SPEED | 60m/s |
DAMAGE | 50 |
SPECIAL EFFECT | Freeze enemies for 2.7s. However, if they are attacked during the last 2.2s of the freeze, the effect will be canceled |
Tips for Fate of Absolute Zero
- Freeze to kill
- Absolute Zero has a small window of time immediately following the Freeze effect where incoming damage does not cleanse the Freeze. Luna can Freeze a target and then quickly adjust her aim and fire one primary fire burst to get in a burst of damage and leave her target frozen.
- Absolute Zero combos:
- Absolute Zero → primary fire → primary fire (headshot).
- One-shot against 250HP heroes
- Optimal: Absolute Zero → primary fire headshot → primary fire headshot
- Landing all six headshots will one-shot a 300HP heroes.
- Freeze to escape
- When you aren’t able to KO the frozen enemy because of their health, or they are being healed, leave them frozen for the full duration.
- Luna’s passive will heal nearly half her health by the time the enemy unfreezes.
- Freeze to cancel enemy ultimates
- Ultimates like Scarlet Witch, Dr. Strange, Spider-Man, Psylocke ( only during her activation), etc. get canceled when hit with a stun.
- If you suspect one of these types of enemies has their ultimate, save your stun to cancel it. The range of Absolute Zero makes it one of the best ult-canceling abilities in Marvel Rivals.
[E]: Share the Stage
DESCRIPTION | Attach Idol Aura to an ally. Allies with Idol Aura also restore Health when Luna Snow is healing others |
KEY | E |
CASTING | Targeted |
HEALING BOOST | 35% |
SPECIAL EFFECT | Provide healing to allies marked with Idol Aura |
Tips for Share the Stage
- Infinite Range for flankers
- Once Share the Stage is placed on an ally, it does not require LOS and has infinite range.
- Always look to leave the healing aura on whichever teammate is going for flanks.
- Deulists over Vanguards
- The small amount of healing makes way more impact on the smaller health pool of a Duelist than on a Vanguard.
- Luna's self-healing also gives healing to her teammate with Share the Stage
- In a pinch, you can activate your self-healing and give your out of LoS ally some healing.
Passive: Cryo Heart
DESCRIPTION | Automatically restore Health when casting Ice Arts or Absolute Zero |
KEY | Passive |
CASTING | 30/s for 3 seconds |
Tips for Cryo Heart
- Self-healing
- Does not stack. Uses both abilities one after another just restarts the timer, and does not double the healing.
- Always save either Absolute Zero or Ice Arts for times when you take damage and quickly need to be able to heal.
Passive: Smooth Skate
DESCRIPTION | Keep moving forward to start ice skating and enable higher jumps |
KEY | Passive |
CASTING | 0.5s |
SKATING SPEED | 9.6m/s |
Tips for Smooth Skate
- If you hear an enemy ulting and you don’t have Absolute Zero to stop it, stop using all abilities and start skating away to safety.
- If Luna’s camera angle changes too rapidly, Smooth Skate will not activate.
[SHIFT]: Ice Arts
DESCRIPTION | Fire ice shards for a short duration, damaging enemies or healing allies while restoring her own Health |
KEY | SHIFT |
CASTING | Single-cast spell field that pierces through enemies |
SPECIAL EFFECT | Replace the previous Light & Dark Ice cast |
DAMAGE | 50 damage per round. Falloff begins at 20m, decreasing to 60% at 40m |
HEALING AMOUNT | 75 health per round |
RANGE | A cylindrical spell field with a radius of 1m and a height of 40m |
FIRE RATE | 1.43 rounds per second |
DURATION | 6s |
COOLDOWN | 15s |
Tips for Ice Arts
- Pierces targets
- The best quality of Ice Arts is its ability to pierce through every ally and enemy in a 40m range.
- Focus on trying to line up as many targets as you can with each shot.
- Strafing left and right helps to line up additional targets.
- Finish off retreating enemies
- The piercing effect also means Luna has the unique ability to damage enemies hiding behind another enemy. If a Vanguard is body-blocking for a low HP enemy, activate Ice Arts to pierce through and finish them off.
- In 1v1 Duels
- Luna has higher single target damage per second when using normal primary fire and significantly lower when using Ice Arts. When 1v1 dueling an enemy, only use Ice Arts when needing to activate her self-healing.
Ultimate [Q]: Fate of Both Worlds
DESCRIPTION | Take center stage and start dancing! Press to toggle between two performances: Heal allies or grant them Damage Boost |
KEY | Q |
CASTING | Persistent spell field that surrounds the caster |
HEALING AMOUNT | 250/s |
DAMAGE BOOST | 40% |
CAST TO HEAL THE ALLY ONCE | 200 |
SHIELD VALUE | 250 |
DURATION | 12s |
ENERGY COST | 4500 |
Tips for Fate of Both Worlds
- Counter enemy ultimates
- Fate of Both Worlds’ healing output is high enough to make all teammates who stay within the AoE virtually unkillable.
- Luna and her allies are still vulnerable to burst damage ultimates such as Iron Man’s Invincible Pulse Cannon.
- When to Damage Boost
- You can fairly quickly swap between healing and damage aura. When you see your teams all at full health, or the enemy team isn’t posing a threat of death, you should switch to damage boost.
- Primarily focus on keeping the team alive. Letting someone die during damage boost is the worst thing Luna can do for her team.
Team-up ability [C]: Frozen Chi
DESCRIPTION | Iron Fist channels the Chi of Shou-Lao into Luna Snow, transforming her ice power into a Chi-infused frosty ring that radiates from her. This ring can knock back enemies with chilling damage and applies a slowing effect, while simultaneously healing her allies |
KEY | C |
CASTING | Single-cast spell field that surrounds the caster |
DAMAGE | 25 |
HEALING AMOUNT | 75 |
RANGE | 10m radius |
SPECIAL EFFET | Kock back enemies and apply a Slow |
SLOW RATE | 30% for 2s |
TEAM-UP TARGET | Iron Fist |
Tips for Frozen Chi
- Good ability for Luna
- While we don’t recommend asking teammates to swap to Iron Fist just to activate the Team-Up, having it gives Luna better survivability against enemy melee heroes.
- Get off me
- Primarily used to knock melee attackers away from you. The brief slow debuff also makes follow up shots easier to land and makes Luna a dangerous target to dive.
- AoE healing
- The other use is to heal all allies around you with a small 50HP burst. Not bad in dire situations, but overly strong either.
Team-up ability: Icy Disco (Passive)
DESCRIPTION | Luna Snow infuses ice energy into Namor and Jeff the Land Shark, who then can tap into the ice energy to power up abilities at will |
KEY | PASSIVE |
CASTING | 15% Healing Boost |
Tips for Icy Disco
- Adds an extra ability to both Namor and Jeff.
- For both heroes, Luna’s Team-Up is their best ability. If your team is already running one of these heroes, you’ll definitely want to run Luna as well.
Synergies
Team Comp Synergies
Given her amazing healing output, Luna fits perfectly into any team that wants to play aggressively and not get instantly deleted by the enemy.
She works especially well in teams with just one flanker since she can always leave Share the Stage’s Idol Aura on her flanking ally to receive passive healing.
Ice Arts is such a strong ability, limited only by its range. Therefore, Luna wants to stay in the range where she can hit as many targets as possible with each blast.
Teams with a strong frontline presence who make it difficult for the enemy to get behind, help Luna to maximize the amount of value she can offer her team.
Team Comp Example
- Vanguards: Groot, Magneto
- Duelists: Black Panther, Namor
- Strategists: Luna Snow, Jeff The Shark/Mantis
Hero Synergies
Duelists: Namor
Namor’s turrets can be used defensively which greatly helps Luna to stay alive against enemies trying to assassinate her and get rid of her team's best healing resource.
The Chilling Charisma Team-up also gives Namor a 3rd Turret on a separate cooldown which significantly increases his overall turret uptime. Frozen Spawn is the easiest and one of the strongest anti-flank abilities of any hero. Namor protects Luna, and she’s free to keep the entire team alive.
Strategists: Mantis
When teamed up as a team's two Strategists, Luna provides so much healing that Mantis can use all of her life orbs for damage boosts and offensive plays.
The two can also alternate uses of their two stuns, which makes it incredibly difficult for the enemy team to make any sort of aggressive play. Each strategist can keep the other alive while the rest of their team can keep reaping the benefits of their passive healing abilities
Strategists: Jeff the Land Shark
The Team-up gives Jeff a high damage stun attack which makes him a deadly target. Paring these two heroes together will have your enemies thinking your team’s Vanguards are invincible from all the constant sustain they’ll be receiving. Alternatively, Luna can keep the team up while Jeff goes for a flank with the Team-Up and tries to wipe the enemy backline.
