Marvel RivalsMarvel Rivals Daredevil Guide

In this Marvel Rivals Daredevil guide, you’ll learn the fundamentals of his abilities, unique play styles, and fundamental tips.

Daredevil Overview

Daredevil may not be able to see foes from a distance, but his prey never seems him coming either! Matt Murdock has been as quickly become the most dominant melee hero ever since his arrival in Season 4.5.

The ability to see enemy positions through walls pairs perfectly with the play style of a flanker. Ironically the same mechanic enables Daredevil to also excel at protecting his own backline from flankers you literally cannot sneak attack Daredevil or any of his nearby allies thanks to his invaluable information gathering.

Mechanically, Daredevil is a bit more challenging to pick up than the average hero. He has a robust kit with a large amount with a large number of abilities and a unique play style that requires some dedicated practice before you find a good level of success.

In this guide we're going to break down every single one of Daredevil's abilities and give you the best tips on when where and how to use each ability to optimize your Daredevil!

Whether you are solo queuing and harassing enemy backlines, or using your wallhacks to play as a team, no one does it better than the Devil of Hell's Kitchen.

Find out where Daredevil ranks in our Marvel Rivals tier list.

TLDR

As

  • Take 1v1s. Use your Radar Sense and Sonic Pursuit to find and attack isolated enemies.
  • Call out or ping enemy positions to share intel to your allies.
  • Stay alive. If you are not confident you're going to get the KO, save Devil's Latch to escape with your life.

Against

  • Stay with your team as much as possible. Daredevil can always see when you are isolated and will pounce for the easy kill.
  • When playing Vanguard, Emma Frost, Peni Parker, and The Thing shut down Daredevil.
  • Fliers and ranged heroes can keep away and poke out Daredevil. He doesn't have any reliable counterplay other than hoping his teammates counter.

Strengths and Weaknesses Summary

  • Excels in 1v1
  • Intel Gathering
  • High Mobility
  • All or Nothing Engagements
  • Has Multiple Hard Counters
  • Mechanically Demanding

Strengths and Weaknesses

Strengths

1v1s

Daredevil is one of the best 1v1 duelers in the all of Marvel Rivals. He has mobility, speed boost, inflicts slow, a hook, good burst damage and deflect! Most importantly he can see through walls and carefully take his time to chose his target.

Intel Gathering

Daredevil's passive is literally legal wallhacks. A tool that is so powerful in all shooters, people literally cheat for easy wins, and he has wall hacks by default! You can use enemy positions to inform your team, time dives, or protect your backline from flankers.

Mobility

Wall climbs and grappling hook are great mobility tools. On top of these, Sonic Pursuit grants a speed boost and dash. If you help confirm the KO on the marked target, he eve gets a dash reset to help with the escape.

Weaknesses

All or Nothing Engagements

Devil's Latch limits engage and escape and can make Daredevil feel a bit feast or famine. If you use the hook and dash to engage but the enemy saves your target from death you are definitely dying or forcing your team to use defensive alts to keep you alive.

Has Multiple Hard Counters

As a melee based hero, Daredevil relies on getting right on top of enemies to bring value to his team. Unfortunately, he doesn't have any way to directly threaten fliers. Also, unless you perfectly time deflect to counter enemy CC abilities such as Luna's Freeze, generally a single CC is enough to take care of Daredevil

Mechanically Demanding

Compared to the average Marvel Rivals hero, Daredevil has a high mechanical skill floor. You'll need to learn combos plus be very consistent with Landing your abilities to have any success with him. He also has a very dangerous place Style compared to many other Duelists who can stand behind their team and just spam projectiles to get kills.

Tips For Justice Jab

Melee Animation Cancel

  • Daredevil's melee attacks function separately from his primary fire. To maximize your dps, weave in a melee between every second primary fire.

Damage When Holding Cooldowns

  • The only time you should be focusing purely on primary fire and melee's is when you are trying to bait out enemy cooldowns without having to use your own cool Downs that way you can briefly disengage then quickly reengage before they get theirs back.
    • Example: use your passive wall climb to set up a flank on an enemy Adam Warlock, and only attack him with Primary Fire + melee. He'll likely use Soul Bond. to keep himself alive. You can then wall climb or hook back out and re-engage before he gets Soul Bond back

Secondary Fire: OBJECTION!

Block frontal damage and reflect projectiles, becoming immune to all incoming harm during this stance. Gain 60 Fury when successfully blocking an attack.

Tips for Objection

Focus on Watching for Enemy CC Animations

  • Backlines like Luna Snow and Mantis, or frontlines like Peni and Bucky will be saving their stuns to use on Daredevil. Therefore, it's important to keep an eye on their hands when attacking them and reactively using Objection to deflect the projectile back at them.

Use During Disengage

  • When using Latch and Sonic Pursuit Dash to start your attack and try to get a KO, you can objection is a great way to start creating space between you and the enemy team without taking any damage.
    • This will buy you some time for your cool balance to come back online, for your allies to start helping you, or for you to get close to a wall that you can climb your way to safety.

Cooldown and Resource Based

  • Although although a resource meter appears on the screen every time you use objection, canceling the ability before the resource has depleted does not mean you can instantly activate the ability once again the resources just showing you the maximum amount of time you can use the Ability.

Tips for DEVIL'S LATCH

Engage or Escape?

  • Engaging with Devil's Latch is very strong because it grants Fury and enables righteous cross. However, you also sacrifice your best escape tool. If you are not confident that you'll get that you can confirm the KO you should save your dash if you're going to use the latch to engage.
  • Whenever possible save your latch to escape from a dive or flank. As covered under primary fire tips latch is a great tool to use to disengage from a soft attack where you are not trying to get kills but just get cool down or ultimates off the board.

Does Not Stun

  • You might think you could cancel ults like Bucky's Hook, but Devil's Latch does not stun. Be careful when pulling enemies towards you because they can continue attacking.

  • Fastest Bonus Health building ability. Keeps you tanky while brawling.

Tips for Devil's Throw

When two enemies are near each other, you can throw Devils Chain at the ground next to your target and it will will bounce to and through the closer target.

  • This mechanic is similar to Moon knight's Ankh bounces but it does not auto-track.

Combos

275HP Combo

  • Devil's throw > Sonic Pursuit > Righteous cross > Devils chain > Righteous cross
    • Will very quickly KO all Strategists and any heroes at 275HP or below.

Don't Mash

  • Daredevil's abilities share button inputs, and if you try to mash Infernal Fury into Devils Throw, you may misinput Objection and completely waste your best defensive ability.
  • The buffer windows for inputs are more delayed than you might imagine. Wait until you see the command on the screen, or watch for the ability animations before hitting your next button.

Passive: RADAR SENSE

Tips for Radar Sense

Tips for Sonic Pursuit

Apply sonic pursuit in as you set up your engage

  • You don't technically have to attack your marked target to keep the movement speed buff. But if the marked target is KO'd by you or an ally, your F refreshes instantly.
  • This is your go to dive and burst damage ability. Should almost always engage by first activating Sonic Pursuit. Also enables you to save Latch for an escape.

[SPACE]: BLIND ASCENT

Tips for Blind Ascent

  • When you don't have Hook or Dash, wall climb is your best escape tool. Most enemies will not be able to chase you.
  • During enemy spawn phases you should walk climb and set up above a choke point. Then wait for most of the team to walk through and drop down to attack the back line once their Frontline has engaged with the rest of your team.

Synergies

Team Comp Synergies

The ideal comp built around Daredevil does at least one of two things. Ideally you'll have other allies that can quickly dive or flank with you. The other helpful type of Ally is one who can counter your counters. For examples since Daredevil is very weak to Flyers having a hit scan on your team will make it Daredevil's life much easier.

Also, since he spends so much time Behind Enemy Lines having a strategist with a long-ranged healing abilities will help you to stay in as long enough to actually secure KOs.

Team Comp Example

  • Vanguards: Venom, Magneto
  • Duelists: Punisher, Dare Devil
  • Strategists: Luna Snow, Gambit

Hero Synergies

Vanguards: Venom

Venom Icon

Venom is very Strong in Season 5, and the best Dive Vanguard. Together with Daredevil they make quick work of enemy backline their movement is so fast that the rest of enemy teams cannot peel fast enough before they burst down any isolated Heroes.

Venom's massive body and HP we'll also soak up a ton of damage and pull attention away from Daredevil making it easier for you to survive.

Duelists: The Punisher

punisher icon

The Punisher’s Team-up Ability with Daredevil launches a blinding grenade. The blind works nice for Punisher on his own killing spree, but a coordinated attack will have Punisher blinding Daredevils targets for easy pickings.

Moreover, Punisher's rifle is amazing for suppressing fliers that are Daredevils natural counter.

Strategists: Gambit

Gambit Icon

Gambit's Bridge Boost track allies and makes it easy for him to heal a quickly moving Daredevil. Assuming Daredevil is attacking with another ally, the card will rapidly bounce between the two and Grant a lot of healing.

Additionally, canvas anti-hill has infinite range and is incredibly lethal when assisting a dive from Daredevil.

Gambit is also quite self-sufficient for a Strategist and doesn't need Daredevil to stay back and babysit him, freeing up Daredevil to go on his own hunting and flanking.
